BF How Often?

Just wondering how often your breast fed babies eat?

Alex is now 11 weeks old and really only feeds about 5 times in 24 hours. Sometimes I feed her at about 5 or 6 in the morning and she doesn't want any more until after midday! Is this OK?

Edward eats every 3 hours (from begining of feed to begining of next feed) for most of the day. From 7pm till approx 10:30 he eats almost constantly and then will sleep from 10:30 till 4 or 5am... then the "ever three hours" kicks back in.

Seems like you get the same kind of stretch of non eating that I do, just yours is in the morning and mine is late at night.

As Edward charts on the 90 percentile of growth, I'm not worried about the stretch of time he doesn't eat.

Halle feeds every 2 hours in the day, then in the evening it's almost every half hour, then she'll have a 3-4 hour stretch from around 9-10 pm.

I think as long as bubs is gaining weight ok then it's not a problem, every baby is different and some will take in more at one go than others.
