BFN, but Positive OPK?

Hi!

I was just wondering if there was anyone out there that has experienced/is experiencing the same thing I am? Long story short, I stopped BC about 9 weeks ago. I had my withdraw bleeding the next week and then my next period, followed by 2-3 weeks of very light brown spotting/discharge (TMI!). I started using a OPK every afternoon for the two weeks to see to get a baseline on my ovulation with negatives everyday. Not a faint test line, nothing. Meanwhile I have been feeling fatigued, constipated, constipated, breast/nipple sensitivity, creamy white cm, flushing like crazy, and salivating like a St. Bernard. The last two days I have had mild cramping and twinges like I was going to get my period. I was supposed to get AF six days ago, so I took three HPTs and got three BFN. I also took my OPK (I have a ton of them so I figured why not) and I got a positive ?!?!?
I've seen some posts where people have gotten positive OPKs and BFN, but were pregnant so I am wondering if this is the case with me. I noticed very scany pink/brown discharge when I wiped this afternoon so now I am wondering if I am having IB or it's just AF finally arriving. Has anyone gotting a positive OPK and started their period? I know this also could be related to the fact I just stopped BC 9 weeks ago and my poor body could just be adjusting. I am just driving myself crazy wondering! Any advice/similiar experiences would be appreciated!

My bff and I both experience somethin like this and when she had bfp opks for 7 days and only two faint bfp hpt and had a chemical pregnancy my opks were bfp before.my.hpt was with my.son gl

I am going through this right now...have had several days of bfp opks and nothing but bfn hpts. With all my other symptoms I am pretty sure I am pregnant and am just waiting for my hcg to get high enough for test to pick up. I have been temping too so know i ovulated. The symptoms you are listing are similar to mine.

Before I got my in March I was still testing with opks even after I ovulated. I was getting faint lines on my opks before my hpt even had a shadow of anything. I have all my opks and ic hpts from 6dpo to 15 dpo (got my on 10dpo with a FRER) and my opks were turning progressively more positive just like the pregnancy tests should have. Lol. I still get the urge to POAS so I use the 50 opks I have left and now they are so dark they are almost black. . Not sure why the opks picked it up before the hpts but once I started getting second lines on the opks again after I ovulated, I knew I was pregnant since the month before my opks were blank before and after O I figured something was up. It is very possible to still be pregnant, since the OPK measures LH and the HPT measured HCG. The thing is, the 2 are VERY similar. HCG has an extra anatomical doo-hicky, which is what the HPT measures. An OPK picks up BOTH HCG and LH... meaning it would be a darker line if you're in fact pregnant, and there just isn't enough HCG for a positive HPT yet.

Good luck might just be too early or oing again I did that in the cycle that I got pregnant with my son two LG surges and bfp opk on cd 42 and bfp hpt dpo 10

well another positive opk today ...thats 5 in a row...If I am not pregnant then something is really crazy with my hormones

Thank you everyone! I am feeling more hopeful. Especially since two of my biggest AF predictors (migraines and diarrhea-TMI!) are MIA. I am still having a few light dull cramps every once and awhile, but mostly its just a feeling of fullness in my abdomen. I keep getting excited, then kinda bummed like maybe I am imagining everything. But I think since I have never anything but blank OPKs and now they are showing positive something is up! I really appreciate the support and the stories!

I am going to try not to take a another HPT until Friday if I can last that long!!

I'm gonna be taking hpt on Wednesday ill be 10 dpo then... I have cramps but i pass gas and feel better constipation !!! Tmi lol Gl!!

Constipation was my biggest early symptoms both times i have been pregnant and is a very good sign...its because a chemical is released in your body when pregnant to relax your intestines so your body has more time to extract nutrients. I have spent way too much time on research recently and know way too many tidbits but still can't seem to get my hpt to register a positive when my brain and heart say i am right.

Hi I have the same thing happening this month too. I ovulated on the 11th March then yesterday 6 dpo I had lots of discharge so used my CB digital ovulation and to my surprise I had a smiley face! I then used an IC OPK and it came up postive before the control line had appeared!!! The same thing has happened today with both clearblue smiley and really dark positive on the IC not even with strong urine! The lines on the IC OPK's are darker than when I get them pre ovulation. This has never happened before so it's a bit odd. What do you think??
