Bfn, Neg Blood Tests But Is Pregnant!!!

don't know whats gonna happen guess i'll just have 2 wait for af to show up, don't think the doc will do anything till i've missed about 6 periods so they said!!! i know it's terrible isn't it? it's a medical centre so i think if af doesn't show up soon i'll make a appointment with a diff doc in there and see what they say.

Well Just as the other Lady's have said About the blood tests coming up neg cuz it was still to early is all I have heard as far as Blood tests are concerned, However I know with My Best cousin in the Whole wide world , When she was pregnant with her first Son She thought she was prego and would take HPT after HPT and they all kept coming up Negative so she decided to shrug it off, also Because she had been spotting and anyway after 2 months with only spotting on & off and not "officially" having the Wicked Witch Show up she tested again, guess she was still spotting A tiny bit tho so she took another HPT and Still A BFN then she went to the Hospital because she was having horrible pains I guess and she was scared she was having appendicitis or something and they then confirmed to her Nope no Appendicitis's And Told Her that she was Pregnant and was nearly 3 months well 2 1/2 to be exact but I was like Wow that is crazy!!!! then with Her 2nd son same thing happened the entire first month she tested and kept having BFN and was spotting again and then decided she had better go have blood work done because it reminded her all to much of everything she experienced with her first and Tadah Pregnant again and She said she kept HPTing just for fun and this time With Skyler (her 2nd) She didn't show it on the HPT until a full 3 months... So crazy to me I just don't get it.. But it happens with her And She would never tell Me stories like that if they were not true So Even tho it sounds crazy crazy I know it was True!!! (Sorry So Long)

Anyone else have a story like this where they kept getting BFN's but were pregnant?? It's been 8 weeks since my last period so I'm at least 3-4 weeks late but I keep getting BFNs! I have no idea what to think and my doc won't see me for another few weeks.

With my oldest child I was feeling horribly sick and my period was about 2 weeks late. I finally went to the doctors thinking that maybe I had the stomach bug or something and they ran a pee pregnancy test which came back negative, they said I caugt a horrible stomach bug and to rest. I shruged off my illness and went and got a tattoo that same dayoops. Finally two days later I took another test (ClearBlue Digital) cause I was still feeling very sick and low and behold it came back to me screaming PREGNANT! I was shocked! Went back to the doctors and had my levels checked, turns up I was about 7 weeks pregnant!!! lol I gave birth to a healthy baby boy when I was 41+ weeks.

With my last pregnancy though it was not a good story. I had another late period and I took many pregnancy tests and all of them came back negative. I shrugged it off again and waited till my gyno apointment in two weeks to bring it up. At the appointment they told me they would not switch my birth control until I had a blood test done (had been on birth control the whole time). The next day I got a call saying I was pregnant and that my levels were at 45. Two weeks later followed by horrible bleeding and pain I was admitited to the ER for an ectopic pregnancy. Thats the only other time that happened to me.

I was just talking to a friend who went through 3 months of BFN blood and home tests. They COULD NOT figure out why she had such horrible headaches and was sick all the time. SURPRISE! She's prego. lol Baby boy #3 on the way

Look up the hook effect. After HCG is very high, it does not register on an HPT. You can dilute the urine and BAM + test. However, the only way bloods are - is when there is no hormone in the blood (can happen if you are VERY early) GL

Thanks for your replies! That gives me hope. I felt nauseous for about 1.5 weeks and I still don't have much of an appetite for anything which isn't like me at all. Yesterday and today I've gotten bad headaches which is really weird because I hardly ever get them. The past few days I've also had some dull cramps randomly throughout the day but they don't feel like AF cramps. I just wish I knew for sure one way or the other!

I know for some women, hcg is not secreted into their urine, but it is rare. Like someone else mentioned about the "hook effect". It has to be very very high amount of hcg. A blood test now a days, would not show negative if you are pregnant because it will show the exact level of hcg in your blood. Maybe back in the day, but now with technology and the advancements.. If it's negative, it still could be too early, but it would be very soon after that it would show a "positive" level of hcg.. which is 5 or above

Wow that's crazy. Guess I shouldn't give up hope quite yet then!
