Is there any other mums who know that they will most probably have a big baby. My eldest was 7lb 13 and my second was 8lb 3. since the more babies you have get bigger i think i am in for a large one, i just hope its not too big. I am trying not to think about it too much but i feel lucky that my last babies wern't over 9lb. good luck to us

Yup...I'll probably be having a big baby. Our daughter was 8lb 3 and this one measures a day or two ahead at each scan I've had. The last scan at 17 weeks he/she measures 4 days ahead.

I'm sure I'm in for a big baby, my hubby is a big bloke.

My first son was 4 days early & 7lbs 11oz.
My daughter was 2 weeks late & 8lbs 6oz.

I am only 5ft 1 too & convinced this baby will be heavier xx

my first was 7lbs. My second was 8lbs.

I am terrified of having a 9lb this time.

Maybe since I'm having a girl this time she will be smaller :) Fx... LOL

Think i will end up with a big one, although this is my first, my hubbys daughter was 1oz off 9lbs and im already measuring 3 days ahead and im only 16+4 eek!! Epidural here i come!!

My first was 8lb1oz, and my second was 7lb13oz, and the midwife has told me I already look rather large. So guessing this ones going to be a big one too x

well i was 9lb 14oz when born and hubby would have been over 8lb if he went full term... we were convinced Naomi would be huge but she was a very slim teeny 7lb 2oz,

no idea what to expect this time round!

My first was 8lbs 1oz and my second was 9lbs 3oz. I'm thinking that I'm most likely gonna have another big one this time around. Not too worried about it. My body will make an appropriate sized baby for me whether it be 6lbs or 10lbs and I feel that I have more then an adequate pelvis. With my first I only pushed for 45 minutes and they had me in the most ridiculous position and then with my second she flew out with just two pushes.

My first son was 7lb 8oz, my second we thought was going to be small but he was 8lb3oz, shocked us all even the midwife! Saying that hes tiny now, they both are for their age, hes still in 6-9 clothes at 13 months :dohh: But im only 5'

Im really quite small with this one so hoping shes not going to be too big, but going off how my last surprised us im prepared i could be in for a big one again. I thought maybe because this one is a girl she will be smaller but my sister was the biggest of all 3 of us at over 9lb so girls arent always small i guess! lol

xx

my first was 8lb12 and 53cms and i was a size 8 at the time! this time consultant reckons 8lb15 or more but im having a csec this time cuz of the probs which happened during labour

Never thought about the graduating scale and now I'm kinda worried:

1st 7lbs 2oz
2nd 8lbs 3oz
3rd 10lbs 11oz

My 1st three were from my ex and my current DH is very small boned so maybe the trend will change (I hope-lol)

My little girl and my first was 8lb 15 and ended up being a forceps delivery because I couldn't get her out :) :)
I was induced a week and a half early with my boy (2nd)because of the size of my daughter, and he was 8lb 13..10 days early!! They reckon he would have put on around another pound if I had carried him to 40 weeks...eeeeeeek!!!
They are sending me for a scan at 36 weeks to check the size of this little fella and to see if I will be induced again..am 5ft 2..so not exactly tall :)

this will be my first but im told to expect a larger baby due to diabetes x

Yep im in for another big one

My son was 9lbs 3 & born by c-section i just know this one is going to be a big one as well prob more like 10lbs which im dreading as im planning on a natural labour with this one

How hereditary is it to have big babies?

I am one of four and we were all huge. I was 9lb 8, both brothers were 10lb 4 and sister was 10lb 6. And no...there were no medical reasons for having big babies like diabetes etc...mum was in (and still is) top health.

My husbands side they were all slightly premature!

Am I doomed to have enormous children?

I have always heard that as well but neither I nor my large babies had it at the time. I have it now, years later, because it is hereditary in my Dad's family.

i dont think so babies in my family r much bigger as the last 2 generations have passed

Well this is my first baby and I'm only 5ft and quite slim, My hubby is also very small I would say around 5ft 5 so pretty small for a bloke :) So i can't see our baby been a big one but hey you just never no!! At my 28 week midwife appointment she told me that i was measuring a week infront, But said it's because of my small size and frame. So we shall soon see :D xx

ive had it for 10 years now and always hear it, apparentlythe baby gains wait easier because our blood sugar is slightly higher. we'll just have to start a thread once bubs are born to compare diabetic birth weights and other birth weights lol x x
