Bigger Babies Club

We're in 24 month clothing now. Even 18 months is too short.

And I'm officially annoyed - trying to find a cheap little fold out stroller (umbrella stroller) and they all have a 30lb weight capacity. We're at 29lbs already! Anyone in Canada or US know a decent one, very cheap, but goes past 30lbs? LOL

Oh and we met another baby born the same day as him. Half his size. And she was normal size. Yeeeeeeeesh

If you feed/fed formula what did you guys use?

I used to feed Chloe on Hipp Organic until she needed hungry baby formula. At the time they didn't do it but I'm 99.9% convinved they do now as I remeber thinking it was trypical lol Anyway, so I switched her to Cow and Gate hungry baby milk. After a while of weaning her (she started at around 6.5 - 7 months) I then switched her to the 6month + milk (Cow and Gate) purely because it didn't seem right to switch her from hungry baby to just 'normal infant' and it was a while after weaning, (im waffling sorry!) basically it was close enough to her being 1 and switching to cows milk anyway; that was the logic behind it anyway!

when i ff ds1 i used hipp organic and it worked fine for us he had no problems on it

we used sma gold. tried hungry baby milk at 9 weeks but it gave her awful constipation. we ended up weaning as she was ready xxx

Thanks girls! Ava is on Aptamil. Shes not a hungry baby and only takes 4-5oz but the Aptamil seems like she's hungry all the time and she wakes 2-3 times a night but only once max with C&G but when I've tried to switch she ends up with runny poo and tummy ache and I'm scared of upsetting her tummy! Dont know if its just the switch in formula or if the C&G just doesnt agree with her??

Nessicle - Chloe went onto HB becasue she was feeding very often, not becasue it was huge amounts but more because she didn't last very long between feeds and was getting hungry again; once on HB she fed roughly the standard timings and amounts iykwim, it's deffo not for everyone but just so you know :D Plus at your LO's age its quite normal for her to be waking 2 - 3 times a night for feeds still, Chole did even on HB milk. I was lucky in that, when we switched Chloe was okay but they do recommend a gradual switch of formula if you do change :flower:

Has anyone got any views on baby walkers? I wasn't planning on getting one as I'm not sure I'm that keen on them, but she's almost too heavy for her jumperoo and I'd like to get her something to replace it. A friend has offered to lend me one with a max weight of 12kg, which she'll be in about 3-4 weeks. Worth borrowing and hoping she'll get more than a few weeks use out of it? Or will I just feel really bad if she loves it and then I have to take it away in a few weeks? Hmmmm.......?

ETA: Does anyone know of any that have a higher weight limit than 12kg? And does anyone have any recommendations of what to get instead? I feel like she is really missing out on things because she's not even 6 months yet.

Walkers are illegal here in Canada but bouncer walkers without wheelers are fine. I really recommend it, mine looooooooooooooved it. Try borrowing it. Mine still goes in his a few minutes a day at 30lbs (lol) just so I can get to the bathroom

What kind of one is it? without wheels sounds like it might be like a jumperoo... I've not seen any without wheels.

p.s. why illegal?

We got our LO this, she still sits in it now, she loves it!

My-First-Convertible-Car-Walker

I have to say, we have it on carpet and so it was never used as a walker, but for something fun that last for your LO, this certainly ticks some boxes! Plus, it might not drag on your carpet!

Its a bouncer seat, not as bouncy as a jumparoo though, has lots of stimulating buttons etc for LO and there are even buttons for the feet too.

I will add pics, its just my FB is playing up! Argh! :flower:

Walkers are illegal because some parents put their kids in them near stairs and they fell down and the parents complained! I think it was something like that.. So basically we can't use them here because of the irresponsibility of a few. It's annoying... I would love to have one for Rose! I think she'd love it! We have stationary ones which are good too though! Rose is in hers right now actually!

That's crazy, this one does have a symbol with steps and its crossed through, I wouldn't even think twice about it but some people!

Shes doing much better on C&G - feeding 3 hourly and taking 5oz per feed I even think she might want 6oz soon! She must prefer the taste!

Aww glad she is doing much better on it  :flower:

Oh man that pink car is so cute and looks so fun!! Wish I could get it here! :p

Oh dear! If you don't know about the laws of gravity, then in my mind you shouldn't be having kids! :dohh:

Yes I can imagine that's quite annoying not being allowed one. I know there were lots of warnings about them a few years back here, but I don't think they ever got banned.

I didn't realise they did stationary/bouncy walkers. I might have to see if anyone I know has one I can borrow to try. Thanks for the tips girls

Crap- just looked at mine to give you a rec and realized ours is a 30lb capacity too- looks like Emma has outgrown hers too :dohh: She still rides in it without problems though- we've got the Cosatto Dixie (Zellers carries them and often has it on sale for half off making it about $30-35). It's funny because I always see toddlers riding in them in the mall so I guess not too many parents look at the weight limit on strollers. She walks everywhere now though so it doesn't get a whole lot of use anymore
