Bigger Babies Club

Hi ladies! Just a quick update, Fran was weighed last Thursday at 8wks 6days and was 13lbs bless her! She is following just below the 91st centile for weight and just above the 75th for height.

Here are the latest pics - the first one was taken today xx

Aw, she is sooo sweet, love those cheeks..

SHame! Howcome you had to have a section?... xx

Well I stopped dilating after about 16 hours so had to have the syntocinon drip and because it took so long she turned back to back and her head wasnt in the right position, she also couldnt descend because she was too big for me I'm very small at 5ft 1" and a size 10, I spent nearly 3 hours pushing after 30 hours labour and I could feel her bum catching on my ribcage when I pushed down - thats how high she was!

They tried two different sizes of forceps but they couldnt bring her down. My waters had been gone over 36 hours and her heart beat kept dropping so had to get her delivered asap.

Was pretty traumatic and lost a lot of blood and couldnt breastfeed either as never got any milk (though my boobs are so saggy now you'd think I breastfed for ages lol!) xx

Oh my gosh that sounds traumatic.. shame hunni-all worth it in the end hey!

CONGRATS on the little bean in your tummy:hugs: wishing you a wonderful pregnancy:flower:

Aw I'm hoping to take Fran swimming sometime soon, I can't wait!!

We live in SOuth Africa so it's been soooo hot the last few months.. Addison has swam loads (in an outdoor pool) and he LOVES it.. he kicks like mental:haha:

So he is on the highest percentile for his weight (98 is it).. His height is literally off the chart..:dohh:

What were your babies head circumferences? (think that's the right plural lol)..
Addisons was 38.5 (ouch that stung) and shot up to 43cms at 8 weeks.. again, way off the chart..

Hope you lovely ladies are all having a beautiful weekend xxx

No idea of Ava's head circumference - dont even know how long she was etc, they dont take measurements in Leeds unfortunately! Would love to have known though x

I can't remember what Fran's was when she was born - can't find the print-out I got, think the midwife might have taken it when she signed me off - but at her 8wk check up (she was 8wks 6 days) she measured 39cms and was on the 75th centile line.

Kellycool - if you want an ouch, Fran decided to send an arm out along with her head lol! Gave me 2nd degree tears both down my perenium and up to my pee hole. I will never forget hearing the midwife say "That's it there's the head - OH! and an arm!!!"

OUCH.. That does sound sore..

My first born, Ashton (9lbs so a tiny bit smaller than Addison).. he tore me badly too.. Landed up with just one hole down there from bum to punani.. and about 40 stitches later... Luckily no stitches this time even though I did tear. madwife said it was asthetic only and quite frankly i dont give a shit what it looks like down there!!!

I still haven't dared look yet lol! I think the needle the doctor used to give me anaesthetic before stitching hurt MUCH more than actually tearing lol!

I agree! And anaesthetic doesn't work on my. never has, not even at the dentist.. so i flt every single stitch.. hahaha.. what a war story.. Cuddles for all our big bubbs...

Have decided I'm not having my fanjita ruined as well as my stomach so with the next one its an elective section for sure!x

lol im kinda dreading what more damage can be done to down there with an episiotomy the first time then a tear that was bigger than the episiotomy the second time,

yeah im dreading another c-section if this one is bigger than Chloe! but hey its all worth it in the end xx

I luckily recovered really quickly from my section and wouldn't mind too much if I needed another one. I would much rather it then how scary it was trying to push her out!! (My blood pressure was super high, her heart rate dropping!!)

id rather avoid a section just purely because i have 2 toddlers to care for at home and although my DH will get some time off in December he cant take the whole month and new years off work to look after the boys while i recover

Same in BRI, they never took those measurements either, would of been interesting as LO got stuck so could of been good to know for future reference.

I was cut but thankfully had a spinal so felt nothing at the time, you poor ladies having to feel it :hugs:

Annoying isnt it and I'd have loved to keep my pregnancy notes but they took them off me!

Can I join? My LO was born at 38+5, he was 54cm already then and 8lb 2, HC was 36 (41 at 9 weeks). He went straight into 0-3 there is no way newborn sizes would have fitted him, they fit him fine for 5 weeks then all of a sudden he shot up and had to go into 3-6 for most things; I didn't bother with 3-6 bodysuits as he is very long in the body and the 6-9 ones fitted him right away when I tried them and are now getting too small. He now weighs over 15lb and has a very long body but has tiddly legs; so he is in 3-6m trousers still but they are getting too small on the waist and the 9-12m stuff looks like it will be also; but is way too long so I am gonna have to look for shorts in 12-18m I think and use them as trousers! He can't wear any outfits or sets you buy as he is such different sizes top and bottom. He is now in 6-9m sleepsuits and dungarees/rompers, bodysuits and t-shirts he is moving into 9-12m, socks he is in 3.5 to 5 size. Sometimes its hard to believe he is only just over 3.5 months, my two middle ones were even bigger and gained weight/height even more rapidly as first but due to allergies didn't gain weight very well in the middle months of their first year so I think this LO is bigger than both of them at the same age. My nearly 4 year old now has always been tall though and even though he looks slim; according to the BMI calculator on the NHS site; he is obese (GP is not worried though), on the red book charts he is above the 75th centile in both height and weight, he also has a head circumference way off the charts and its only 3cm less than mine but the GP again thinks he is fine and they don't really bother with HC past 1 year here; and 3 years in other countries.

EJ just got 18-24mth stuff for his birthday and the body of everything fits fine but the trousers and legs of things are too long poor child lol

Chloe is in 2-3 now because she has such a long body! everything is still too long in the legs tho! i think she is still 9-12 in trousers for length and waist! lol madness. she will be 19 months when i go for my next scan on 20th! :D

Rose isn't even 6 months yet and already fitting in 18 month... :p Most 12 month is now too small! Especially sleepers, she's just so long!
