it goes to 35lb?

Hi ladies! Not popped in for a while, how are all your lovely chubbers doing?

Mum and I took Fran for her first swim yesterday, I think she quite liked it and was kicking her legs about quite a bit!

Just thought I would post the latest pic of her - not had her weighed since her 8wk appointment but DH and I are going to take her to clinic in the next couple of weeks if it's on as he is on holiday and doesn't normally get chance to go with us.

Aww Lovely new pic  Glad she enjoyed swimming too :D

Hi all! Not been in this group before but definitely think I should be lol! My LO Oliver is 4 months old this Sunday and is very much a big/chunky baby! He sits between 98th/99.6th and at his last weigh just before 16 weeks he was 18lbs 13ozs.
So Hi all! I will read through previous pages when I get a chance but at 67 theres quite a lot of reading!
I was actually after some advice, we obviously aren't putting him in a forward facing seat just yet but we are starting to get an idea of how much one is going to cost that will last, he's rear facer isn't very wide and we are infact selling the rest of the travel system as it only had 2 weeks use due to him being far to broad and squished in it! So anyone have any advice on a good front facer with growing room? Maxi cosi looks quite wide but not sure how long it would last.... ideally something isofix compatible too.
Thanks in advance!
x

i wouldnt go anywere near a forward facing seat for ages hun, your better looking at the britax highway or the britax multi tech which rearface to 25kg, a forward facing seat at under 1 year is a really really dangerous prospect and under 2 years is still a high risk, it is annoying though to have bigger kids and have to change them, we got EJ the britax first class combi seat to rf him to 13 kg and it can ff after that but i dont want him ff yet so we are going to opt for a longer rf seat even if we have to import it

Hi and welcome Tink2312 :flower: :hi:

I think as your LO is 3 month, it may be better for you to invest in a rear facing seat that last longer iyswim.

However, we use the Babyweaver Shuffle Emo (before the isofix version came out) and this is RF then moves to FF once baby reaches a certain weight. I have linked you to the one that has isofix though.

Hope that helps :flower:

Thank you both! Lynnikins do Britax generally give more space? I see they do a first class plus suitable from birth to 18kg which does rf and ff, might suit him in the interim as he doesn't have a huge amount of space in his current seat, there's no way he'll make it to 9 months, I'd be surprised if it lasted past 6! When the bigger ones say from 9kg/9 months is this for them to be sitting unaided again even for the RF ones? So confusing! We went to John Lewis a while back to get some advice and they were terrible! The guy was telling us he'd never heard of a case where a child needed a spacier car seat before 8/9 months and obviously thought we were crazy for considering it so early!
If your looking to import I take it the US have bigger ranges?
Thanks again :) x

the first class plus rf's till 13 kg after that it has to ff . if you look to import you need to do it from sweden as US seats arent considered legal here in the UK,

i made the terrible decision to FF ds1 at 5 months caus i knew no better and he was 10.5kg and could sit completely unaided and im soooooooooooooooooooo thankful we never had an accident caus even if he fell asleep in his seat wen it was reclined his head was still tipped forwards. im more ok with him being FF now he is older and has more upperbody strenght but still most comfortable with him RF ( and hes quite a big toddler now at over 19kg  and to keep him in a 5point harness i have to ERF him caus no forward facing seat is tested with a 5 point harness over 18kg as they are all boosters and im not putting my not even 3 yr old in a booster with an adult lapbelt NO WAY

Its amazing how car seats have come along in the last 20years or so, just a shame they aren't moving a bit quicker now!!

So true- the problem I've got is that the range of ERF seats available here don't fit into all makes of car. We just had to flip Emma to FF because none of the seats that offer higher than 30lbs RF will fit into the backseat of our small car :growlmad: Apparently being eco-friendly AND safe are mutually exclusive :dohh:

Good evening ladies :flower:

I had my little lady weighed this week, week 26. 6 Months, where does the time go??

Anyways, 24lb 14 oz! And 70 cm long :smug: And still exclusively breast fed.

We've started BLW, but it's a very slow process as for almost everything she does that really cute thing babies do when they taste something they don't like and she pulls a face and shivers :haha: hopefully she'll start eating soon. I love her to bits, even when she's being a fussy little thing :haha:

Does anyone have a bigger baby??

wow she is big! lol my LO didnt reach that weight untill about 1 year old and she was nearly 12lb born!! lol x

wow! that is big!
LO was 24lbs 5 at 10 months 1 week!
going to get him weighed again next week im gussing around 25lbs

Took LO to my friend's house today, my LO is 30lbs at 10 months and her baby was 26lbs... at 18 months  Of course, her friend's baby is 100% normal/average for that age but mine dwarfed him. It was hilarious as he didn't understand that my baby was too young to play/share/run/walk with him  He got frustrated.

im pretty sure EJ was 25.5 lb at 6 months lol, we blw and he loves it it takes them upto 10 tries to accept new flavours and textures so dont give up on things too soon

Hi ladies! Thought you might like to see Fran's growing up pics. The first one was taken at 2 days old, the second at 5 weeks and the last one was this morning at 12 weeks - you just don't realise how much they grow until you see comparisons like this lol!

omg yeah your right! u dont think they grow that much in such a short space of time! lol she is lush tho xxx
