Wasn't sure quite where to put this.

I have an appointment to get an IUD inserted on Wednesday. This past weekend I got my period for the first time since giving birth. I'm pretty sure it won't be over by the appointment date. I'm not sure if I should reschedule my appointment or keep it? Should I let my doctor know beforehand? Does anyone know what to do in this situation? I can call the office tomorrow, but, honestly I am a bit embarrassed to bring this up with a complete stranger on the phone...so, I'd like to get some input from others beforehand. I'm nervous about the appointment as it is. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

I have my appt for one next month! I'm nervous too- but told (by many) it's not that bad. So I'm hopeful ;)

tbh- I've heard that it's actually "easier" to fit during your period as your cervix is more open... not sure if it's bull or not? But if your concerned, just ring your doc hun. Don't be embarrassed- I'm sure they have heard (and seen) it ALL!!!

Best of luck it all goes smoothly!
