My dd will be 9 in March she wants a bday party, I was going to hire a room but can't afford to as well as buying her presents. I've said she can have a party at home, I just need some ideas now as don't want a load of kids who are going to get bored after 5mins.
Thanks in advance

Is your back garden big enough for a bouncy caste?
How about hiring a childrens entertainer?
Pass the parcel is always fun.
A pinata (SP?) in the garden?
Musical chairs (or musical cushions if theres not enough chairs lol)
Pin the tail on the donkey.

Thanks I will look into some of those, not sure about the bouncy castle because we have a big drop in our garden x

ypu could get you dd to make a pinata to save money and fun for her

we used to make them as kids for oour parties

Have you made enquiries about hiring a hall? I was surprised at how cheap it actually is - round here average cost per hour is £8-10 so well worth it!

Failing that have you thought of a pyjama party? Get kids to turn up in their jammies, throw duvets and cushions onto the floor then supply with pizza and popcorn. Can play party games, watch dvds and paint nails. ;-)

My daughter went to a party at a friends house and they did lots of activities such as, decorating a cup cake which they took home, making a necklace with red liquorice laces and cheerios, they had somebody painting nails, someone doing tattoos, which they loved and they had some music on and played some games. she really enjoyed herself she said it was the best party she had been to lol x

Some fabulous ideas! Wish I had some to add but I'm looking for party ideas too lol

Thanks everyone for all your ideas, I was thinking of hiring a hall but the nearest one's are a few miles away and I don't drive. I was thinking of a pj party or letting her have a few friends to stay over for the night but not sure if some of her friends parents would allow them to. I like the idea of them making things as my dd loves crafts so going to look into that as well xx
