how will you be dividing up presents? i was thinking each year for his birthday to get him one big present n then on christmas loads of presents from santa, big and small presents?

anyone any advice or how will you be doing it?
x

my dh's birthday is on the 5th of January, and I will be dividing his presents pretty randomly lol I will leave one really good one for christmas and one for his birthday and the rest just do randomly :flower:

holly marie my oldest will be 9 on the 23rd of december and we have always had seperate presents for each as i think just cos her bday is 2 days from xmas that it is still her special day

so she gets a big present and little ones for her bday

christmas she also gets big and little pressies

Grace is 2 weeks after christmas and i usually think of one big present from us to save for her birthday along with smaller ones and a mix of big and small stuff from santa. Last year she got a bike and a kitchen off santa and smaller stuff like dolly's and craft items etc and for her birthday she got a dolls house off us and then some smaller items like barbies and games. We usually buy all the smaller presents before christmas and then decide which is for xmas and which to save for b'day xx

callums birthday is the 2nd dec, so we normally give him one main present and a few little ones and do the same for christmas.

My birthday is the 20th December and it was always treated as a completely separate day, as it should be imo. I'll be doing the same if any of my kids are born near Christmas.

yeah no way would i be telling him that his christmas presents and birthday presents are joint i dont agree with that at all! but i also dont want him to expect the same amount on each day lol! thanks for replies girls :) x

Good topic.
Basically we move to Itay at the beginning of december, so very close to christmas.
I think i'll do alot of my christmas shopping here, get the majority of Lillys presents over here, and then take them to Italy with us.
Not sure on what im getting exactly, lots of pretty pink things, and deffinately "my first christmas" stocking! x x

My OHs birthday is pretty close to Christmas, his mum has always totally separated the days, hes always had a fixed amount spent on him for Christmas and his birthday (e.g £250 for Christmas and £250 for his birthday) exactly the same amounts as what his brother had even though his birthday is in May.
Ive already chosen what im getting him for Christmas and his birthday, ive spent £100 on each and just seperated the presents, He has smaller stocking fillers for Christmas and then the most expensive present as a Birthday present. My LO is due on 28th December so im guessing i will follow the same principle of smaller stocking fillers for Christmas and and the most expensive present for his birthday.

My LO's birthday is on New Years Day. I plan on keeping both days completely separate, for xmas she will get a big pressie and lots of little ones and for her bday she will get 1 big pressie and maybe a few small ones. The hardest part will be trying to decide what pressies to give on what day!

My birthday is on christmas day!!!
No way should there be combined pressies, its not fair, tho dh tries that one sometimes!
My mam was great, when I was a child we celebrated my birthday a few days before xmas,so I had my wee birthday party and got my pressies a few days early.
Now i'm older i'll get my xmas pressies like everyone else, but also get my birthday pressies extra to everything else.I still always felt hard done by,coz people are so caught up with xmas they forget to say happy birthday!!Poor me!!!
Just glad my kids are aug,oct and april!!

Matthew's birthday will be 10 days before Christmas.

My sort of idea's so far for it are -

He's getting his trike for his birthday
A mega Bloks Table

For Christmas he's getting

His Bounce and Spin Zebra
Box full of Mega Bloks (cordinating with his birthday present lol)
And smaller stuff

Though I know for a F-A-C-T that I will go completly over the top with presents etc even though he won't uderstand half of it :haha: I actually think I have an addiction to buying christmas presents lol

I will be making sure to treat her birthday completely seperately from Christmas, even though it's only 1 week apart. Her birthday is her special day and I will get her as many prezzies as I would if her birthday was in July.
For her birthday we will get her one big present and then a couple of smaller presents. For xmas she will get one big present from mummy and daddy and Santa will bring plenty of other smaller presents and some sweet treats. :)

hubbys birthday is 21st December :dohh: its a complete pain in the ass tbh, I feel really sorry for him. Things like he gets a joint xmas and birthday prezzie & cad off some people, where as if hgis birthday was like 2 months earlier he would get both? & also people are usually so skint and busy close to christmas he can never celebrate it.

So I always go out of my way to make a big deal about his birthday. I usually give him his big main prezzie for his birthday, and a few books or clothes, CDs etc.

Then at Christmas I get him another big prezzie (but not like the same cost as the one I get him for his birthday iykwim) and then a load of little things like bottle of whiskey, underwear, CDs & funny things :)

Amelie is Jan 4th. We split them up equally really  She has a main present on each day and lots of little ones but she gets a lot of clothes on her birthday cos i take advantage of jan sales LOL

hollie bday 13th dec
amber bday 31st dec

1 main thing for each, smaller things to go with.

Ava's the 19th Dec, She will be having a birthday party on the 5th and on her actual bday getting one main thing and lots of little things, and at christmas also one main thing and a few little from me, and a bunch from santa. ;)

Shes getting clothes for both, books for both, a wheelybug for xmas and a keybord thing for her bday, a dolly for christmas and probs other things but im not buying them just yet. Gonna get the rest of the family done!

My OH's birthday is Christmas eve. I try to keep the good stuff for Christmas so that we give and recieve a present of the same kind of value.

His Birthday I pick some of the stocking fillers I have bought, wrap them in birthday paper, get him a pair of trainers/shoes and buy his christmas
clothes!

Aimee is the 3rd of December and I'm the 17th. I ahve always gotten a main birthday and maybe a couple of little things to go with it and I do the same for Aimee. This year she is getting the Moxie girl artitude car, 1 Moxie girl (the other 2 she gets this xmas) and a moxie girl packed lunch box.

My LOs birthday is the 23rd of December.

She gets one big present and a few little ones, and the same again on Christmas. One big present from Mummy, little ones from Santa in a Santa sack and then a stocking.
