Bit of advice please....

I am currently WTT but had my coil removed on the 4/05. I did a opk today as I wanted to see if I had started ovulating, purely out of interest. My opk had a very distinct line but the instructions said it had to be darker than the control line to be a positive. Its wasnt quite as dark but was near enough. Does this mean I am close to ovulating or is it a negative as the instructions suggest?
This is all new to me.

It is negative but some women get a fade in patter prior to ovulation. test 2x a day when you get a test line that is almost as dark. you could be getting closer!

i usually test around 1pm and 6pm so as not to miss the surge just keep trying you might be getting close x
