Bizzare Symptoms - Missed period - a little help?

Okay...I am determined to get to the bottom of this and post my findings. A lot of the threads I have read have no answers, or the original poster didnt post what happened....frustrating!

I am 25 year old - married

1. Missed April 25th pill
2. Spotting & 2 days of period May 6-10
3. No period this June, 21 DPO and 8 days late
4. 2 BFN
5. Symptoms: bloating, cramping in lower abdomen, white nipple discharge (started yesterday), tired, breaking out on my face, gurgling in my lower abdomen, dark ring around nipples. My breast are not "sore".

The main reason I finally decided to post is because of the white nipple discharge. This started yesterday and I am not prone to irregular periods. I am on birth control but due to the missed pill, and now the missed period I am starting to get concerned. I called my gyno who said to wait it out until next week; if I have no period by then...he will do a blood test. At the time I had spoken to him I had not noticed the nipple discharge. I will do another HPT test over the weekend as I may have just tested too early.

A lot of the threads I have read are so inconclusive especially concerning white/milky nipple discharge. Did any other women experience this in early stages of pregnancy? DH thought the discharge was the neatest thing...me? I was freaking out, lol.

I will see what the next HPT says, and take it from there. I will post the results, and let you all know. I will call my Dr on Monday regardless...but I am freaking out. I'm having a hard time not thinking about whats going on...or if I might be pregnant. Thank you!

I didnt have nipple discharge until I was around 6 months pregnant. Maybe like 5 1/2 months actually. I don't know if it is actually possible this early but just an FYI, It is called Colostrum.

I did a little research and it says in early pregnancy (12-14 weeks) colostrum is thick and yellow.

White discharge could signal and infection. Probably Gross but if its colostrum it will taste sugary.

CharliesMommy - thank you for the quick reply. Still leaves me confused, and worried...but I do appreciate you responding. Colostrum tasting sugary isnt gross...whats gross is after you posted that, I wanted to taste it to see if it was sweet...LOL

Needless to say, its bizarre and frustrating. With the abdominal cramps not going away and now the leaky nipples...I am so confused.

I dont know if it's "sweet" but it wasnt gross...kinda sweet/salty.

Arg...I'll just wait it out for more responses and another HPT I guess. Would you recommend I call the Dr back to let him know of my new discovery?

are you on any other medication? these symtoms are all symtoms of the pill maybe because you missed it your body decided to have a field day? there are so many reasons for things like this. if your having nipple discharge and headaches together get it checked out and contact your doctor asap.

Yes, I would say let your doctor know of any changes you have. I saw you said you missed a pill so does that mean you are hoping your not pregnant? Also, with the leaking ... just because its not typical doesn't mean its not possible that its colostrum. Very strange things happen to your body during pregnancy and its different for everyone. I would think even for women with slow rising HCG that they would test positive by 21 dpo. Are you sure you didnt ovulate late?

Nipple discharge in general would freak me out. With the dark ring around...I would think that you should get that checked out ASAP. You could have fibrocystic breasts or something....sheesh. I hope it's just that your PG. Please keep us posted!

Wow thank you so much ladies...just the response (pos or neg) makes me feel A LOT better.

I will call the Dr today and let him know what's going on and post what he says.

DH and I are wanting to get pregnant, but were planning to go off the pill later this year. The missed pill was purely accidental, I am taking TiliaFE.

The dark ring around the nipple has faded, it was more noticeable about a week ago...about 4 days past my missed period. It was just darkening of the skin...no bumps, nothing weird, DH didnt notice a change in color but I did. I am concerned that it could be a Prolactin issue and definitely want to rule this out immediately or get it taken care of if that is the issue.

I took the two HPTs: The first was 3 days after my missed period, the second was 6 days after my missed period. I am trying so hard to wait it out a little and will test again this weekend but the leaky boob is freaky.

Other than the pill I am not on any medication except Folic Acid. I started taking Folic Acid on a daily basis about 6 months ago as I did hope to get pregnant this year.

I do track my periods and ovulation but with the missed pill on April 25 and the spotting May 7th...I may be a little off on my calculation. According to my tracker, ovulation would have been May 21st-22nd. Will make that phone call in just a couple of minutes. Thanks again ladies, thank you so much.

Called the Dr and waiting on a call back!

Well the Dr called back and didn't have much to say. He said "The leaking isn't TOO much of a concern and doubts it is anything serious and it is probably 1 of two things."

I assume the one of two things is pregnancy or hormone imbalance although he didn't specify. He told me to go ahead and swing by Monday to pick up a script to get blood work done at the lab. In the meantime I am going to do my best and quit searching and searching for dead ends on Google...Im just freaking myself out more and getting too anxious. Picked up 3 more HPTs and will try them over the next few days and post what happens.

I did speak with my sister in law who just had her second baby in October. In her situation she was 6 weeks along before a blood test finally showed up as positive and all of her HPTs were negative and she did experience nipples leaking 2 weeks after her missed period. She did have an issue with lactating once the baby was born.

If anyone else has any clues, please let me know....will keep you posted as to what I discover.

Hey ladies!

Just posting an update here...

I am now 12 days late. Some mild cramping, still the occasional leaky boob, but other than that, no changes really.

I have NOT gone to get my blood test yet. My whole thought process on this is I am not insured and if my period doesn't come and the HPts still read negative and I go for the blood test, I may need other test (thyroid etc). I am trying to do this the cost effective way, lol.

I did speak with my doctor again and he mentioned that waiting another week for the blood test wouldnt be a big deal.

So...I've taken a couple more HPTs and all were negative. Until today, I had a faint line. You know the line that is so faint your husband doesnt see it? The faint line that makes you think you are imagining the entire thing. The same faint line that MAKES US ALL GO NUTTY?

Ok here is a pic...am I crazy? Will test again this weekend....I am testing with the Answers Lab Strips.

Haha! I will test again in a few days because the line was so damn light. Last night I had a tiny small amount of brown spotting. It was like...clear with some brown in it. No spotting today, so it went away almost immediately. Weird?

Ok ladies. I deff wanted to post my results just in case anyone comes across my thread in the future.

Now 21 days late on AF. Bloating, cramping, semi faint positives on many tests. I even uploaded some pics to canyouseealine.com and had many "YES" votes. TALK ABOUT TORTURE! DH could not see the lines! So anyway, went for a blood test yesterday after 10 HPTs (and a lot of stress and $$$) and the results came back today. I had a -1.20 HCG level and a 11.33 prolactin level...AKA NOT PREGNANT! My Dr was kind of an ass about the whole thing, but I guess they deal with us crazy ladies all the time. Nonetheless, I am not pregnant...am still late on my period (never happened) still have a leaking left boob, and many other symptoms. Dr's advice was to REEELLAAXXX! My AF should be here next week so we shall see! Thank you for all of your support. I hope to be back soon when DH and I actually start TTC.

Thank again ladies...this board kept me from driving DH up the wall. lol
