I let my sister have a look at one of the pram systems that I fancy, the Mamas and papas sola, and I think it will fit in my car. It comes in black / pinky purple colour; black / bright green; brown; and black / grey.

I'd love the pinky purple one but couldn't put a boy in it, not that keen on either the green or brown - which like of leaves the black / grey.

My sister horrified was saying "why would you want a black pram?, it's a new baby not a funeral etc" :dohh:

She probably hasn't really looked at prams since her own were small, now 11 and 7, and at that time all the prams were navy blue with a wee bit of other colour.

What do other people think of black prams?

black prams are the same as other prams hun, her comment is a bit excessive tbh, they are more practical and easy to keep clean as dirt doesn't show up as much on it :flower:

*edit* forgot to add, both me and my sister were in black prams and I think they looked cute from what I've seen in photos

I have a black pram this time with colour on inside of the hood and very very impressed with it, I use to have a checked coloured pram and hated the way the dirt showed xxxx

p.s this ones lovely https://www.pramcentreonline.co.uk/...AgNHBN29uUILLKNCCsdh5qOzpdJB7ofwmftmNdc4gaR5S

I think that's a really bizarre comment for her to make...I don't understand why some people always have to associate black with morbidness and funerals...I think black looks sharp...and it happens to be my favorite color! If you like it, don't listen to her. I really don't think there are a lot of people out there that would see it and think "wow, that makes me think of a funeral!"

Thanks, yes that's the one I am looking at. Thanks for reasuring me over the colour I am going on Monday to see it in the flesh and make sure it fits in my Ibiza boot.

Maybe a bit of colour would be nicer than black, It's like painting a baby bedroom beige. But If it is what you prefer then go for it. The bugaboo in all black actually looks really nice and if you change your mind they always have the fabric which you can change over to make it colourful. I want the hot pink one if I have a girl but I my OH said he wouldn't push it lol.

That is actually a really nice buggy, its got the black for mummy and patterns for baby. I love it and the price is good too.

We're going for black, partly because most of the other prams that we like only come in horrible colours!! Also will use it for next baby too so need it to be gender neutral!

I bought a black pram and I love it! Plus when you add coloured pram liners and toys ect it looks lovely! It won't show dirt and I can use it for my little prince and also if my 2nd baby is a girl (yes I'm already thinking ahead LOL)

It all comes down to personal preference! xx

OH and I are planning to get a black pram if we don't get a hand me down from my brother. Black on the outside and red inside. I plan to add a few little crochet flowers or some such once we know whether boy or girl to break it up a little bit but I don't think it looks bad. Personally I'd love a black and grey pram.

you need to think practically. If your not finding out what your having you need to consider the colour, but also when the baby is eating in the pram think of the mess you will see on a cream/light colour. their all nice. I dont think theres anything wrong with a black pram, Iv got a black pram. Loads of people have black prams. hope you find your perfect one :)

That's a bit of a silly thing to say really... We've ordered the Curv from Mothercare - it's black, quite stylish, very reasonably priced and the hubby likes it too which is a bonus! I don't think it matters what colour you get really, and a lot are black now... Still can't get over the whole funeral comment, as if you aren't paranoid enough during pregnancy, I'm sitting here thinking "Is it funereal? Should I have got a coloured pram???"and it wasn't even my sister who said it...

Just choose the one you like which is most practical and affordable... We haven't got a lot of money, ours was £169 in the Mothercare sale with car seat, footmuff, hood etc.

It's a bit more now but still in the sale, in case anyone else is interested...

We've got a Bugaboo Cameleon all in black, so practical, and very sophisticated!

I am actively looking at only black/dark grey prams. Most other colours available are usually hideous. Also black goes with everything! In fact the majority of prams I see are black!

both my prams where black? whats weird about that. One was a britex and one is a maclaran. We didnt know the sex of baby so getting pinks and blues was out and one we got after was black just because it was.

Nothing wrong with black prams at all! They are def not 'funeral' looking! I personally didn't choose one as i wanted a bright pram (turquoise!) But if you decide on a black pram you can just make it colourful with blankets and toys :) You should get whatever you are happy and comfortable with xx

I have ordered the Icandy in Black. My changing bag is Black and white Giraffe Print. I can accessorise with coloured toys and blankets and a footmuff if I want.
