Black coloured prams?

personally I find bright pink etc prams fairly tacky and rather impractical unless you know you are only having one kid etc, I have a black iCandy Apple and love it, never thought twice about it being black I just think it looks great, I have a couple of toys dangling in nice bright colours for bub,

Black is a fantastic colour, they are smart and practical and can be used for a
girl or boy.

Im not keen on pink/purple/green/red pushchairs, i prefer neutral colours like
black, grey, navy ect. x

I love the sola I have it in purple. But if we hadn't of known what we were having then I would be just as happy with black. There is also the truffle colour which was nice. I made sure hubby was aware if we have another then they get a new pram too x x x xx

I have a black/charcoal check mama's & papa's pram from 5 years ago which I will be using again as it is in perfect condition and would do a girl or boy. Just add bright blue or pink covers in the pram to add your wee splash of colour.
My cousin has a cream pram and her son is 5 months and the pram looks really grubby now, she has tried washing/wiping what she can but some black marks just won't come off. It is unavoidable if your putting it in and out of car boots etc x She is now wishing she bought black x

I just said to DH yesterday, "How do you fancy a black pram?" He was delighted at the idea....it appealed much more than pushing a big coloured thing about. Also my dad has a funeral director's business so all our other "chariots" are black, he,he!!!! I love black....always have. I think it's classy, smart and goes with everything. :flower:

Thank-you all for your comments. I think I will stick with my origional choice and add bits of colour in other ways. That will also mean that regardless of sex I can add colours to suit.

I am sure my sis is just over reacting as when she was buying everything was navy blue or versions of it.

I still love the orchid pinky /purple colour but I really couldn't put a boy in it and I don't think DH would be happy pushing a boy in it either.

I was gonna go for the stokke xplory but think now I'm gonna go for the Bugaboo Camaleon limited edition one thats black black black!

Love it.

I'm getting Cameleon too, I don't like the Stokke its massive and you cant get on public transport easily and looks weird like a pole with a baby on top! and the baby bag is at the front not where you can get to it easily.

we are getting the M&P Urbo but is a lot like the Sola and comes in black...
I don't really like the idea of patterns etc but I will be having brightly coloured blankets and accessories etc...

P.S - My wannabe hot pink bugaboo is like sexy tacky though so its ok haha.

I've gone for the silvercross linear freeway in 'jet sport' which is black. I love it, looks really stylish, and will be easy to keep clean.

zane had the trenton which is back and its a lovely pram and i never got any weird comments like that lol i wanted to get a black pram from first being pregnant as its unisex n my oh wouldnt moan about pushin a pink pram around lol

Hi
I've not read the whole thread but I am going for the Mamas and Papas Sola too. I think it's a great travel system! I'm also going for the black version and my thinking is that it's a great base colour to add more to with bright coloured blankets, pram toys, nappy bag etc. xx

I bought the Silvercross Surf in black & slate, and I think it looks amazing! I think black prams look great & stylish, and it's all neutral so you can use it for a next baby. With mine, I plan to add colour by blankets :)

I never considered any other colour for my pram!

We had a black pram & pushchair and I loved it, don't see anything wrong with having black?! The only problem we found was that it got quite warm during the summer.

Our pram is black and my thinking was it will be neutral in future if we wanted to sell it on or had a girl that needed a pram when DS was walking more  I dont think it looks morbid at all though....you have a bright and beautiful lil person on board..how could it?? :D

I got the Babystyle oyster black pearl and its absolutely gorgeous plus i can dress it up with bright coloured blankets and changing bag etc..xx

I want a black pram too - don't think OH will be too happy with pushing round a really brightly coloured one, I know it's not about him but I want us both to feel comfortable pushing the pram and like the above poster has said, I'll be dressing it up with bright blue/pink blankets (depending on sex of baby) to make it look more cheerful.

I've not heard of a superstition like that. The only one that I know of is that it can't be kept in your house so once we buy the pram it will stay at my MIL house. xxx

We are getting the Oyster pram & were going to get the pearl colour....But then cam eto our senses & remembered how quickly it could get dirty & look tatty

So we are getting a black pram (with pink 'trimmings')
