Bleeding

Hi all

Reposting this question here as I didn't get a response in Health and Wellbeing.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but anyway...my DS will be 12 weeks old this week. It took 9 weeks for my AF to show and 3 weeks later I'm still bleeding.

It's not particularly heavy but it's pretty constant and for the last week it's been bright red instead of brown, which is fresh blood right? I'm a FTM so not sure if this is normal or not. I'm feeling fine but just wondered if I should get it checked out.

Also, it's not my tear that's bleeding, I've checked, its definitely coming from inside me.

Hi there,

Are you sure it's your period and not a continuation of lochia? When did you stop bleeding after baby was born? Your first few periods after baby are usually heavier and last longer, but three weeks is very long. Maybe get checked out just to be sure there us no retained placenta causing the bleeding.

That sounds like a long time to be bleeding to me. I would mention it to your doctor.
