My food processor is RUBBISH!! Makes good cakes but pathetic carrot purée!

I've had it a while and its the best blender we have had, and we have had all types of blenders and food processors. As we do BLW with ours I mainly use it to blend soups and smoothies but it gets them completely smooth, and its very powerful takes only a few seconds to completely blend up a big jug of fruits or vegetables xx

Heard good things about babycook one but don't buy the one they have on offer in aldi as its rubbish!

It was a gift from MIL so it's not like I can buy another one either! I had originally bought the babycook one too but cancelled order as she text to say she'd bought this one from Aldi! Lovely of her but :dohh:

I agree with the hand blender suggestion. I bought a basic one with no bowl attachments etc for probably only about £5 from Argos or Tescos. All you need is a bowl at home. Hardly any washing up then too! You purée for so little time that I don't think it's worth buying anything more expensive unless you need it.

I started solids with my son at 6.5 months so never used a blender at all.

Started at 6 months with my daughter, who was my first, so I did puree for the first month or so.

If you are starting near 6 months it is likely the blender will only get used for the first month then sit in a cupboard, so if you do want one then go for a basic hand stick blender - we got one £5 from Asda.

If starting at 6 months you dont even need to blend - you can just fork mash if you want - makes it all so much easier. If you steam your carrots then they go soft and can be fork mashed, if you want add a bit of milk
