First of all, congratulations to all of you ladies out there! It is truly such a blessing to all of us!
So here's my story... I went in for my first ultrasound at 5w5d. To my horror, the tech told me that she saw my gestational sac, but that was it... no fetal pole, no yolk sac, nothing. Of course, this FREAKED me out because based on all of the research I did, I knew you should have seen at least the yolk sac by now. Anyhow, she wanted me to come back in a week to do a follow up ultrasound. Let me tell you, this was the LONGEST week of my entire life. I had literally stressed out about it to the point where I was having nightmares. Today was my ultrasound, and I anxiously sat in the waiting room waiting to be called in. My heart was beating so fast. I really didn't know what to expect, but I kept preparing myself for the worst. To my surprise, there was my yolk sac, baby, and heartbeat!
I was overjoyed and overwhelmed with relief! They ended up determining me to be at 6w1d. So, I guess I was just behind four days, but wow, what a difference that second ultrasound makes!
