Blisters

I'm currently suffering with the most painful blister I've ever had..And I've had it a week now with no signs of getting any better. I've been using antiseptic cream and plasters when its getting rubbed and leaving it to air out kind of thing when I'm home and can.

Does anyone else have any advice on how to make it heal faster or at least to help the pain? I literally can't walk at the minute.

ETA: It was already popped and the 'roof' of it was off when I was able to treat it so to speak as its pretty bad. The edges also seem to be speading outwards and getting bigger kind of thing so getting worse rather than better :/

So its already been burst then rubbed again?
Ouch!
Tbh it sounds infected, id keep the wound dressed and go to the drs with it. I have needed antibiotics for blisters before..I kept getting on in the same place and the redness of it started to travel up my leg..dont panic though! Easily sorted, but sore x

Not to scare you but a warning, my sister was hospitalised with a blister as she didn't get it checked out. It was infected and she didn't get antibiotics, which meant in the end she couldn't walk and needed crutches for a week.

Definitely get it checked out, it doesn't sound normal. Other than that just keep doing what you're doing :)

My Mum said the same yesterday but I obviously have to wait until tomorrow before I can make an appointment :/

Soaking in salty water might help - it'll keep it nice and clean and it's soothing too. Other than that, I'd just go barefoot until they heal.

How's things today hun? What did dr say x

They're still the same hun I rang up at 8 this morning and the snotty receptionist said there was no more appointments until next week and wouldn't give me an emergency one as 'a blister is not an emergency infected or not' (she wouldn't give me one without knowing why I needed it even though I said it was none of her business!!) and I already have an appointment for Thursday, so I'm going to try again tomorrow and hopefully get a different receptionist, otherwise I'll just have to wait until then :/
It's started to sting a lot more today so I'm pretty sure there is something wrong :/ x

Def try the salt water thing until you can get it checked. Hope its better soon

salt water definately :)

hope it gets sorted soon!! x

Thanks ladies :) I tried the salt water tonight it's helped a little, but I had to go to town to pick up my Mums birthday present (it was today and I've been putting it off a week so I had to go :dohh:) and so it's open and sore again because the plaster and the 3 spares I took lasted all of a few minutes. I've got a warm flannel on it at the minute which seems to be soothing it quite abit.x

Why are receptionists so snotty!!

I asked my Mum the same thing. Anyone would think they were more important than the doctors the way they look down at everyone! They're so nosey too which really bugs me. It's none of their business.
