Blonde newborns?

Everyone seems to act as though my little blondie is one of the rarest things they've ever seen. We can't take him anywhere without everyone fawning over him...to the point of where if we want to do an errand, the best thing to do is put a hat on him.
Not that I'm ungrateful for having a beautiful baby!
However, are babies born blonde really THAT rare? I know they're somewhat rare, but we keep hearing, "I've never in my life seen a baby so blonde!" And now I'm wondering if I've seen one before, too.

Both of mine are/were blondies lol altho had next no hair it was blonde, this LO's has a lil red tinge to it tho. blonde babies r adorable

Idk, I have seen plenty of blonde babies. So blonde they look bald

You don't see many babies these days with blonde-blonde hair. I see a few when I'm out, but mostly babies with dark hair.

Alice's hair was a little dark born, but it's gone a quite light now.

I must say, I've never seen a new baby with as much blonde hair as your LO has in the pictures. Most blonde babies I've seen haven't got much hair at all. He's gorgeous! Both of mine were born with very dark hair (as was I actually,) and it fell out in the first couple of months. Alice and I are blonde, and I expect Arthur will be too.

I've also seen loads of blond babies, probably more than dark haired actually. My brother was born so blond he looked bald! Lol! My friends twins are the same, their hair is white blond.

One of my twins was born with lots of blond, nearing White hair. The other is a blond/brown/red combo.

Til my son was born I'd never seen a newborn that was blond xx

Around here, blonde newborns are rare. I was born with blonde hair that turned fair - meaning my head hair is mostly brown with red, blonde, and white (now that I'm older) undertones. My body hair - including arms and legs - is blonde.

My LO was born dark haired, but once they dried him off, DH and I were surprised - a fair haired babe with a dark hair start. Like me, body hair - including lashes and brows - are blonde!

My LO was born blonde and still is. I don't think it's that rare tbh.

I think everyone is just fawning over your baby because he's beautiful, I don't think it makes a difference what colour his hair is x

You cant tell from my display pic but Jessica is blonde she has quite a lot of it too, hope she keeps it we get comments on her hair too I love having a blondie!

I think the thing with blonde newborns is that they tend to have hair that is so short that they can look bald a lot of the time. My little one was born with quite a bit of dark hair (a cm or so long, now he is 5 mths and has 2 inches of beautiful blonde hair - its gorgeous and he has not lost any! Whoo hooo!

So I would think your baby is seen as 'unusual' or 'rare' - sorry really dont mean that in an offending way btw... is because you baby has a beautiful mop of blondiness!!

My LO had the exact same hair as your LOs when he was born. Now it's a good few inches long, a gorgeous blond colour and sticks straight up, he gets lots of comments about his hair. I call him my little scarecrow!

my lo had blonde hair when born which surprised me as both girls had dark hair even though dd1 turned blonde after a few months. now at 1 lo still has the blond hair and big blue eyes which always surprises people as oh and i have dark hair and i have dark eyes. but oh was blond as a boy...

My lo was born with jet balck hair and now its a dark golden brown. Its weird, we get compliments because our lo has dark brown hair and blue eyes. Beautiful baby to op x

The babies I know of who grow up to have blonde hair are usually bald at birth. Maybe that's why your baby gets so many looks?

Lilly's got lots of blonde hair too! It's unusual, but not unheard of to have thick blonde hair at birth
