Thursday night i got out of my car to go into my house and started bleeding heavily and cramping, i assumed it was the worst straight away and went to a & e to see what was going to happen. The doctor on call asked me to stay the night and have a scan the next day as it was likely it was another MMC, but i refused to stay as i hate hospitals and just agreed to come back for a scan the next day to see what was left.

I went back on Friday, ready to hear i would have to have another D & C to be told the baby was growing fine and had a heartbeat (never been so emotional in my life as when i heard that!) but I have a blood clot in my uterus(which isn't near the baby), im going back for a scan in two weeks for it to be monitored, but they didn't give me much information on it and wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this and everything has been okay? x x

Apparently its called a Subchorionic Hematoma x

I'm not sure if mine was an actual blood clot, but I had some spotting and one occasion of bleeding, had a scan at 7 weeks and everything was fine then again at 8+4, still everything fine with baby, but she did find an ''area of bleed''. She didn't give it a name but just said that was probably where the blood was coming from. She also said it wasn't rare and most of them get absorbed by the time you go for your 12 week scan. Mine wasn't there anymore when I had the last scan.
I think it also depends on how big it is and how close to the placenta it is. Did they tell you the size at all? She measured mine, I can't remember how big it was now but I remember thinking it was smaller than baby at 8+4 weeks. You also said that it isn't close to the baby so that's good. I'm sure everything will be fine for you and the little one.
Wishing all the best! :flower:

I was just introduced to a lady last night that had this same thing. She was put on bed rest, and I mean nothing but up to wee! If the Subchorionic Hematoma ruptures you could loose this bubs. I would defo talk to you doc about bed rest! She now has a 1yr old baby boy born 3 weeks early and still weighed over 7lbs.

GL :hugs:
