bloody tax credits......rant

I just phoned as I got an estimate a while ago that said they would go up in April, the bloke I spoke to said no, they will stay at £21 a week :saywhat: the other guy said £70!

After a bit of an argument he did an estimate and said yes, they should go up. But I would have to wait until the renewal form comes out for the new tax year....fine I thought, thats only a couple of weeks- oh no, the form will be sent betwen april and July. WTF, cant live on £21 a week until July! Especially when you've just aknowledged I should get more!

Then Ihad to really push him for him to tell me I can do it over the phone from April 6th- he wasnt gonna tell me! TIT!

were supposed to get £65 per week but they stopped it last year as they said they ad paid us £2000 too much but we only recieved £200 so now we av to pay them :hissy:
 
Grr! I rang up as mine haven't come through yet and i need it to pay bills and buy food and its currently taking 3 weeks to process. What takes them so effing long??

They haven't paid me for 7 months they owe me over £2000 everytime i :telephone: them they haven't got any records on me at all then they put me through to the manager and he says they are sorting it "It's a technical error" Getting really annoyed with them now they are useless have threatened with C.A.B lol but they dont care :gun:
 
Im still waiting for my claim to be backdated and caitlyn is 9 months old now, they are crap, dont hold out too much hope
 
They gave us a double payment 6 yrs ago. We called them to say we had already recieved the 1st payment... and I said to them on the phone the 2nd payment could not be right. They advised it was. I said but we have had it last week. It was a large amount of money (£600+ each backdated, then given to us again). I said to them because the calls are recorded that they have confirmed we are entitled to it so therefore we WILL spend it. Thats fine the guy had said. Next thing we know couple of yrs later we get a letter telling us THEY had overpaid us and WE had to pay it back! So they take an amount of our current weekly amount to repay it back!!!!!!!!!!! I was LIVID.

It's not on is it ... My claim is the same claim ive had for 4 years not even because of a new baby lol imagine whats its gonna be like when my new LO does come x x x
 
I dont understand how it can be so complicated. Initially we got ours straight away but I dont understand why its going to go up so much when nothing has changed- they must owe us shit loads!
 
They make it so complicated because none of the forms are input by humans. They're all computer read that doesnt like any kind of handwriting.
 
i hate tax credits they haven't a clue what they doin, i'm sure they make it up as they go a long!!
 
However much of a nuisance they are, they are a lifeline for us... :blush:

They confuse me no end though.

I always use entitledto.com - Just to check we are getting roughly what they say. They are also allowing you to put in estimates to work out what you will get in 2009/2010, which is helpful :)
 
Best thing to do is to write a letter of complaint.

This is what I did and it seemed to get things moving quicker, although having said that I still actually haven't had a response to the letter, all I get is a letter every few week saying my complaint has been passed to another department !!

They received our claim at the end of December and we only got our first payment beginning of this month, which was backdated thank god.

Everytime I called them I just got told to call back in a few days time for an update. The training they recieve must consist of being told to answer the phone and advise the call to just call back !!

I am so grateful for the money as it is more than we thought we would get (if any) but I think the actual customer service they provide is appalling and that is what gets so many peoples backs up.
 
Well they must be pulling their socks up then because i've had a phone call and they have said i will have a giro in the post by the 30th march and they are hoping to have it sorted by 6th april wooooooo hooooooo lol finally after 7 months of struggling like mad on my hubbies wages we might be okay at last lol I reckon they are reading this thread :rofl:
