Hi,
I have an 8 month old who is really getting on with BLW - he loves it.
I have made a real effert this last week to make sure he has the same as his 2 year old brother.

They have been loving it.

Problem is I'm running out of meal ideas!
Breakfast is ok - eldest picks cereal of some form most days - LO has either porrage or toast or sometimes cereal with big brother.

We have had:
Sandwich's
Chicken & chips (home made chips)
Fish fingers & chips
Omelettes
Pasta (with various things on it)
Roast chicken & veg fingers
Home made pizza bread
Scrambled eggs & toast

What else can they both have?
How often should I give them sandwich's? Is 3/4 times a week too much?

I follow slimming world myself so tend to have omelettes most days for lunch and want to offer the kids a bit more variety.

Frittata - fling in any cooked veg, cheese, herbs. Keeps well in fridge, can eat either hot or cold.
Homemade soups - my lo's fave is brocolli and courgette. Add pasta or rice if its for dinner. Eat with crusty bread or rice cakes.
Meat or veg risottos - I leave the meat n veg chunky so lo can pick up pieces
Baked potatoes.
French toast and fruit
Cheesy beanos - toast with mashed beans n grilled cheese on top.
Brocolli or cauliflower and cheese.
Pitta with fillings.
Toasties - lo likes cheese or banana inside.
Quesidilla (not sure of spelling!!) - tortillas in pan with filling, and another tortillas on top. Cut into slices.
Meat stews - slow cook and fling in really chunky veg n potatoes.
Pancakes with fruit

Some great ideas there.
Thanks.
Gonna write them down so I don't forget.

How about potato pancakes? There are lots of variations. I usually grate up some red potato and onion with some squash, bell pepper or carrots- whatever veggies I have on hand. Bind together with an egg, maybe throw in a little flour and a splash of milk depending on what I''m going for, and cook in pancake sizes in a little oil. You can mix it up by using sweet potato and put in whatever veggies you have.

I recently made some patties with baked sweet potato mushed together with beans and a veggie medley (and cooked just like the pancakes).

Also, a great snack I've been really loving for LO is just oats mixed with mushed banana or sweet potato/applesauce/pumpkin whatever and baked like cookies at 350 for about 10 minutes. It's like having oatmeal and fruit, but travels well and makes a good snack or addition to a meal.

Also, rice and beans (I cook some together in a pot with some veggies, yum, a favorite of everyone in our house! you can throw in leftovers you need to use up, too, change it up each time).

You could do little homemade mini-veggie burgers, fafalels (sp?), homemade onion rings, mini banana muffins, fruit scones, pancakes, roasted potato chunks, stuffed mushrooms, rice balls, homemade breaded chicken bites, spanish omlette.

I follow slimming world too and I'm a veggie (DH and LO are not), so I try to give LO lots of variety and just use full fat products in the SW recipes that I use for him.

We do things like;

Macaroni cheese
Arancini (leftover risotto rolled into balls with mozzarella inside covered in breadcrumbs and fried)
Risotto
Spag Bol
Cheesy vegetable nuggets
Fishfingers
Chicken pesto nuggets
Leek and potato pie (to try tonight!)
Quiche (I make it myself without salt)
Omelettes
Scrambled eggs
Pancakes
Stuff on toast
Pitta breads and dips
Couscous (messy)

That's a few from this week!
