BM pain like contractions

Hi all,

The last two days I've been experiencing extremely painful cramps in my bowls, so bad that this morning I had to bend over on the bed and breathe through it.

I thought something was wrong with babies at first.

Anyone experienced this and is this feeling anything at all like labour?

I get this from time to time, and I would get it occasionally even before I was pregnant so I don't worry about it. I have no idea if it is like labour since I am a first time mom.

I had this in my first pregnancy. It turned out I was responding badly to the high levels of iron in pregnacare which was giving me crippling trapped gas which would only be relieved after a BM. I now just take folic acid, vit D and omega 3, and try to eat a high content of iron in my diet. Are you taking pregnancy vitamins? xx

I'm taking a vitamin with c d and folio acid. I was thinking about moving to one with more nutrients in but maybe not considering the iron.

It's really made me feel so unwell for the rest Of the day. Since finally having the BM after all that pain I feel sick and drained x

It could be ibs or like someone stated really bad trapped gas which sounds like it's nothing serious but trapped gas can be excruciating! I used to have really bad ibs episodes, when I first got them I felt like I couldn't breathe the pain was so bad, I will say that one common factor was I was dehydrated and so they'd give me an IV and I always felt a lot better...

Had this a few times this pregnancy - thankfully not the past few weeks (only regular constipation now). Not sure if it feels like labor, but yeah, it's really painful. Usually had it at night, and I would be uhing and aaaahing. Followed by BM the next morning.

Try buying some Deflatine tablets, safe during pregnancy and amazing at relieving trapped gas xx

Thanks for your responses, luckily I haven't felt that pain since, maybe it was something I had eaten. Fingers crossed it stays away!!!

It also may have been a braxton hick.. Contractions feel different to everyone, some say it feels like period cramps, others say it feels like a bad back spasms, but mine felt like horrible diarrhea cramps. This is my second pregnancy 25 weeks along and I'm pretty sure I had my first braxton hick last night while lying in bed.. It felt like a wave of terrible diarrhea cramps. I got up to sue the bathroom and before I even got there it was gone and I didn't need to use the bathroom. Gave me labor flashbacks lol.. not looking forward to the real thing.

Icegurl, I feel sorry for you! I've never heard of bh being painful, at the most slightly uncomfortable-this is my 3rd and the only contractions that were painful for me were actual labor contractions

I have these as well. I didn't get them last time but I have this time around and they're so uncomfortable!
