Anyone had induction?
My hosp bag is packed but for emergency transfer if my homebirth goes wrong. Because induction takes as long as a piece of string how much baby stuff should i pack? How long after having it might i be staying in?
I dont want to stress hubby out if i havent taken enough stuff for me or the baby!

Maybe pack what you will need for a couple of days and pack another bag that is all ready for hubby to take in for you if you stay longer? Do you mind me asking why you are being induced? Are you overdue?

Im 41+1 today. Its my first. No dilation of cervix yet and 3 sweeps didnt work.

Are you in the UK? If yes then you'll prob not be in hospital more than a day or two. Maybe an extra day if you have a section. I don't know about other countries.
Best of luck x

I replied in your other thread but as I say don't give up yet. Often the cervix will only change just before labour. And induction is always your choice, not theirs so only do if you feel it's the right thing. Personally, without medical reason I would not get an induction before about 42+2 but you have to do your own research about the risks of either choice and decide for yourself.

Thanks BunnyN, I dont really know what to do for the best. If I lose the mobility option I know I wont cope well with the pain. At the same time I'm really tired and ready. I'm hoping that I start before Monday. Thanks for the encouragement. I'm off to do research now!

Fingers crossed you get your homebirth even with induction. Are they planning to induce you at home? I've never heard of that as an option btu I know very little about homebirths.
You might go naturally before then anyway - you still have plenty of time!

No inductions have to be in hospital. Its now Saturday night and no signs whatsoever. I have decided to phone monday morning and ask for a couple more days. That will take me to 42 weeks. OH ok with this too as he was looking forward to the homebirth.
I know of a woman who refused induction for a whole month! Hats off to her to stick it out that long!

Anythng happening for you yet? It's really hard when you feel under pressure. I felt fine in myself about going over the 41 weeks when they induce you where I am but I did find the pressure from others quite stressful. Any chance they have your dates out by a few days?

I hope no news means you are far too busy enjoying cuddles with your LO (not to mention nappies and sleepless nights ;) ). When you have the chance let us know how you both are.
