Booking appointment????

Hiya,

I have my booking appt tomoz with my widwife, just wondering what actually happens in it? would really like to know so i know what to expect!

It all depends on what area you are in as they all differ slightly ...

Generally they get you to make a start filling out your pregnancy notes, maybe take some bloods, test your urine, do blood pressure, weight etc. Though not everywhere does this.

Then your mw should have a big long chat explaining everything that will happen with appointments and whatnot. And if youve got any questions make sure to ask!!

Heya!
I had my booking appointmet at 8 weeks and its basically to get to know your background, family history, your partners family history and any health problems you may or may have had, or any previous births(if)
They'll also take your blood to test for lots of different things such as any STIs.
And your urine will be tested for protein, Mine was done there and then.
Also she sent of a letter to hospital to arrange my ultrasound

But all midwifes are different, Mine lasted an hour and it made my pregnancy feel so real Its exciting!
