Books

im still working on inferno for the book club- any of you lovely ladies that arent with us should come join- we're lovely!!

I've just finished reading HungerGames, loved them although I was disappointed in the ending.

Thinking about starting 'The Host' which isn't usually my kind of book, it's written by the author of twilight.. Anybody read it & is it any good? X

I have read it four times, it is actualy one of my faverite books and so much better then twilight.
Im putting off watching the films because book to film very rarely works and I normaly end up shouting at the tv because they have ruined somthing :)

Hate twilight with a passion so I might give The Host ago when i've finished the Gone series x

Four times? It must be good :haha: I love reading the book first, books are always so much better than the film. I just enjoy getting my own picture on things, the characters in my head are always much better than the ones in the films! X

I hate twilight too, think I've only seen the first film.. I've got one of the books but haven't picked it up, I was told they are good but I just don't have the patience lol x

I think they are good if you remember the things you liked to read as a 13 year old :)
I still enjoy going back and reading point horror stories because it reminds me of summer holiday sitting in the garden or being 11 hiding under the duvet reading (just makes you feel like a kid again when you liked them) so I didnt mind twilight in that respect, I just had to pretend I was a kid again :)

Haha when I was that age I was obsessed with Jacqueline Wilson :dohh: then went onto chick flicks it's only recently I've started straying away from my usual book choices :) any other recommendations are appreciated, gonna go on a book buying spree next week lol :P

Due to the hubby working nights ive read alot recently:

I read that Bitten by Kelley Armstrong as recommend on here, and coz i normally read vampire erotic stuff...but i hated it, so much babble no story line. But i know it the first in a long series so maybe i need to give it a go.

I cant say 'the host' was any good. Not bad just nothing exciting. Im just not a fan of myers writting style...too teenage for me.

Would recommend 'the great gatsby' only 30p on kindle. Takes like 2 hrs to read...but beautiful classic.

Inferno - was good but by the time you finished you know so much about Florence you forget what the book about. Angels and demons was better but still worth a read.

'No one has sex on a tuesday' - by Tracy Bloom currently in kindle top 10, was a good funny book about being a mummy.

But best current cook - Gone Girlby gillian flynn Would deff recommend a read.

lol it bothers me that you didnt like bitten!! as you said though- the first one was very much setting out the "world" as such- the last one (13) is amazing x

Well we deff try and get into the rest. But given the supernatural stuff a break as read sooooooo much of it.

Just finished the last bit of the book fractured by karin slaughter loved it. I read for nearly 5 hours last night lol. Gonna read *No one has sex on a tuesday* next borrowed it from amazon through prime :)

Im reading Indiana Jones Books. Seen the films loads but sometimes the books give a bit more info

I'm now back on game of thrones having finished inferno. Loved inferno! But the art descriptions were a tad long winded x

I have no idea why my last post has put a link to Indiana DVDs on Amazon, all i did was type his name

That's really random!
I'm handing in my dissertation on Friday- at that point I'm free to read in the evening as much as I want!!

I'm on book 5 of the Game of Thrones series and loving it. Book 4 was a bit slower, had loads of previously unknown characters in it and not a lot happened - still good book though - so it's great to be on book 5 with all my favourites again. Don't know what I'm going to do when I've finished it and have to join the legions waiting for him to release book 6 lol

i finished *no-one has sex on a tuesday* I loved it just took me a few days to read. I am now doing another quick read *Double Dare*

If anyone likes 50 shades and the crossfire books try the stark trilogy!

What's everyone's book challenge for the year- I've set myself 100 books on goodreads for the end of the year! X
