So for some reason I went on my registry today and realized I have nothing on it hardly. I am planning on breastfeeding but it all depends on whether or not I need to go back on the medicine I was on prior to pregnancy. Can anyone tell me of the best bottles to get just in case I still breastfeed and decide to eventually pump or if I choose to formula feed. Thank you!

We've got Dr Browns (only for water though ;)) as they were recommended to us the most x

i use tomme tippe and not had no trouble with them, dr browns are ment to be good but a pain 2 clean apparently.

Really? Do you use them? Nobody has ever said that to me - everyone's different eh!

Now do Dr. Brown's have the special nipple that is supposed to be more like the breast?

i love the tommee tippee closer to nature ones, i practised with one today lol (yeah i know im sad hehe) just with water in and it didnt leak or anything and i just put it in my handbag lol

was tempted to see how drinking out of it went but i gave up on that idea when i realised i was 18 years old not 18 months lol

Yeah Dr. Browns are a real pain to clean, lot's of parts to take apart and sterilize. I'm going to exclusively breast feed for the first few weeks but then LO will be getting EBM while I'm in classes and I've got Born Free bottles and Tomee Tippe, going to see which ones LO takes better :) I've heard a lot of great things about Playtex nursers as well.

the tommy tippee closer to nature ones are meant to be most like the breast, but tbh don't anywhere like mine lol but then i've got wierd boobs lol

Such a shame you guys find them a pain to clean, hopefully i won't have to FF so i'll never have the trouble x

I have the Tommy Tippee Closer To Nature bottles, as I am not sure on wether I will be breastfeding 100% yet.
I have heard Dr Browns can leak quite a bit too? But that's just from a couple people I know, don't know if it is true.

Tommy Tippee Closer To Nature bottles or Advent Im sooo unsure on BFing I know all the benifits but I just honestly dont know, I want to at least give the first colostorom (cant spell) that comes before the milk but I dont plan to BF!
xxxx

:haha: This actually made me laugh outloud! haha

Have you guys used the gerber Nuk ones? My mom said this is what she used on me and they're for breastfed babies.

i seen the nuk ones in boots the other day! havent heard much about them though tbh xx

i breastfeed but i also give him expressed milk in bottles and there's a million bottles out there & the only way you are going to find a good one is trial and error! i went through about 13 different bottles/nipples until i found one that he could actually use. i used the dr. brown's, avent, playtex ventair, pigeon bottles, habermann bottles (special bottles), and a few more.. but the only ones that worked for me was the playtex drop-in's & a fast flow nipple for a newborn and he took it SO well. i had to go through using slow nipple, medium flow nipple and then finally the fast flow worked the best. but, it really varies from baby to baby, it can be really difficult if you're switching from breast to bottle because of nipple confusion and all that. i'm glad that i had bottle fed from the beginning because i can only imagine how much trouble he would've had taking a bottle.. who knows! but yeah, you need to just buy a few bottles of different brands and see which ones your LO likes best when they arrive. instead of buying a pack of 3 or whatever, you can usually buy one of each and they're pretty inexpensive! :flower:

My aunt and the woman working at babies r us suggested registering for at least 3 different types of bottles (just the 3 pack of them) as the baby might not like one over the other and you wouldnt want to be stuck with a ton of bottles that cant be used :).

I registered for the first years breast flow, a playtex one (dont remember the exact type), and the tommee tippee ones.

I have tommee tippee closer to nature.. i have like all their stuff i love it :haha: x

i have tommee tippee.. personally (what with having a massive family) i've found that when babies are hungry enough they generally will use most things..

although avent and doctor browns both leak - but apparently it's due to the lids not being screwed on properly - but for loads of people to make the same mistake, i'd probably not go for them..
(no idea how i'm planning to feed yet)
xxxxx
