Breastfeeding and TTC?

My son is now 15 months old and we still breastfeed. Albeit only for naps (2 per day) and bedtime but could this affect my ability to conceive? I didn't think it would as I've been having periods since he was 3 months old (PP bleeding didn't stop for about 11 weeks) and I know I ovulate but could it still be causing an issue? I'm also a regular 27 days with 13 day luteal phase.
Onto cycle 6 now and starting to wonder as our son was conceived within 3 months. I was however taking Vitex due to not ovulating and having extremely irregular cycles.
Any other ladies in my boat?

Yes totally possible, as long as your getting your period you can conceive. We conceived when my first was 12 months and still breastfeeding. My milk supply actually took a dip and my nipples got really sensitive and that was my first clue i was pregnant :)

Yay! Thank you xx Guess it's just going to take longer this time. I would hate to have to give up BF to conceive as my son refuses cows milk as it is!

Yes you can still conceive. My daughter feeds a lot still and I got pregnant earlier this year. Good luck! :)

I conceived my ds when I was ebf my dd when she was about 8 months. I only had 2 ppaf. We are ntnp #3 right now and I'm still ebf my ds who is a little over 9 months. I've had 4 afs now and just waiting for my cycles to regulate a bit more. But it's totally possible to conceive while breastfeeding. Also I nursed dd until the day ds was born! Good luck!

Hi :) just wanted to add another positive story really! I am still BF my 21 month old (twice a day now) and managed to conceive. Best of luck to you x
