A mother girlfriend of mine told that after 6 months of breastfeeding your body will start eating your cellulite? I'm not sure if this is true but its a rather lovely thought. Any long term bf'ers notice this effect? :happydance: It does make some sense!

Er, defo not LOL Mine has become way worse since being pregnant.

Here's hoping! But somehow I don't think it's true

Yes, it is true. Breastfeeding helps mums lose weight on bums, thigh and hips.

God I bloody hope so! My cellulite has reached epic levels since pregnancy. I'm not back to a size 8 and am a few pounds lighter than pre-pregnancy which I thank the BFing for, but my cellulite is horrific and way worse than I have ever seen on anyone. I only have to breathe and it wobbles- that's no exaggeration. It's from bum to calves. Nice.

I hope so! I've never had cellulite but since having Tristan I have!! :(

It seems to be working for me. I started by losing fat in general, and now the bumpiness on my legs and bum is really reducing. I wonder if that's the purpose of it anyway, to lay on reserves for when you have babies. It's got to have some biological reason!

yes my bum and thighs look a million times better than in the first 2 wks pp i hadnt actually noticed thank you its made me feel heaps better to realise that

here's hoping!!! i'm not losing bugger all at the mo :( next wk i really do have to start a healthy eating plan!!! x

I think my thighs are looking better already so I think it can happen! I'm not dieting either.

It's just fat - cellulite just looks different because women store their weight in kind of carrot shapes, (like tubes) rather than layers, so it dimples the surface depending on how full the fat cell is

I've never had cellulite but after 4-6 months I do start to lose very large amounts just by BF alone xx

Can't see it being the case for me, unless I can kick my serious cake & chocolate addiction!!!

I've been bf'ing for 9 months and my weight loss has been super slow to non-existant.

Oh and I workout 4 days a week doing heavy weight lifting and cardio plus go for 40 min walks with the baby everyday.

I don't have cellulite even though I'm 'obese' but I can definitely say BFing has had absolutely nothing to do with losing weight after Emma was born. I wish! I've only lost weight by extreme amounts of exercise daily and healthy diet. Even with that it's slow going. There has to be some truth to it though but I know tons of women that actually have the reverse issue and hold the weight on instead of losing it off. :nope:
