My next lo is due late September and my BIL is getting married jist before xmas. I really want to bf and as baby will be only 10 or so weeks old, I am guessing will want a feed whilst we are at the church. Is it ok to bf in church? I really can't see why it wouldn't be but I am worried about it anyway. No idea how I will feel feeding in public but I'll also have my then 22m old to look after.

Go for it!

I'm sure God would love you advocating breast feeding! Hehe

A lot of people won't even notice I'm sure, just take a shawl or something to cover you up and you're all set. It took me a while to gain the confidence to feed in public and I wish I'd had the confidence, no one has ever noticed really and anyone that has, has never said anything or made me feel uncomfortable.

Plus I'm sure they'd rather you whopped your boob out than had a screaming baby in the service :)
Xx

i did it about a month ago haha, on the second row with my preacher dad facing me and my mum in the choir facing me lol.. slightly awkward but babes gotta eat :)

I am happy to feed anywhere. However I go to church each Sunday and for some reason I feel too uncomfortable to feed during mass so I take Mickey to the back and leave Frankie with my mum . I'm sure god wouldn't mind me bf my baby during the service but it just feels a bit weird to me. Maybe I am a bit odd though because I wouldn't even wear a strapless wedding dress as I didn't want to be too exposed in church (plus the fact that it was the middle of winter! ) X

I fed lo in the Cathedral at xmas! noone even noticed. They would have noticed if they'd had to listen to him scream though!

I've fed numerous times in churches and cathedrals. I can't see that anyone would mind. Jesus was breastfed after all! :D

Like the other person said I'm sure its better to feed LO then hear your LO cry :haha:

Why not? I used to go to the strictest church (fundamental independent baptist) who are strict on modesty and I breastfed my son during sermons. Of course my son was just an newborn and not old enough to wait or pull the cover. But I definitely used a nursing cover. No one really cared. There were times I did walk out and used one of their room to nurse too.

God designed the boobie system, Im pretty sure he's a BF supporter! :flower:

Well if he's not he'll be very cross with me as I have fed hundreds of times in church and plan to do it again.
Our church has a cafe service where cake and coffee are served within the service so there are a lot of us in the bad books if we are not allowed to and Jesus did say "eat and drink in remembrance of me!"

I'm sure god would be well-chuffed that you're using your boobies for the purpose they're designed for!
I've fed H numerous times in church and even at a funeral! I used my nursing cover which I don't usually use in other circumstances.

I and one other mama feed every sunday. people will come up and talk to us while we are it's just not made to be a big deal. I think the big thing is we don't make a big fuss so no one else really thinks anything of it.

I bf in church every Thursday at the toddler group! All the churchy folk are sat on the other side of the church doing churchy things (im in full view) and no one has ever said anything! I've never seen anyone else doing it tho!

I thought it was a silly question. I guesa its partly the thought of bfing in front of my dhs family.

I would deffo feed in church if I needed to but I would probs take LO to the back just cos she's quite noisy LOL! If you feel uncomfortable feeding LO in front of OH family by 10 weeks you could time it so you feed LO before you go in to church and then she will probs just sleep anyway and save you the dilemma!

Violet used to be a noisy nurser. Would have made nursing in church awkward! I would have done it anyway though.

Go for it! I don't see why not! :) better than a crying baby!
