Bringing bottles to hospital

Hi Girls!

I have a question as I'll be getting my hospy bag ready in the next couple weeks

I am FF and I know that my hospital provides me with bottles. Thing is I want Sophie to only know the bottles I've got (the tommee tippee closer to nature)

I want to sterilise and make up two bottles to bring with me. Di you think thats a good idea?

I would say they only see it as positive that you have read up on some information and got preferences.

I mix feed my LO and will do the same for next one and I will bring bottles when I have my next baby :)

Best to ring them and check - I know my hospital wouldn't have had facilities to warm up bottles (other than under the hot tap - and getting hot water out of the tap was an experience akin to playing the lottery)... but would have had steriliser facilities available (for the long-termers pumping at least) if actually pushed to sort them out (don't know how they'd have taken a straightforward delivery requesting one though).

We took some of our own bottles in toward the end of our stay - but as she'd been in a while as a preemie it was more us making sure we didn't come a cropper getting home and finding she refused to use the bottles we had in the house than some grand plan of things. In that kind of scenario - they praised me for my forethought (then slagged off my choice of bottles in my maternity notes - but they were classy like that)

I think that's a smart idea - I use tommee tippees and love them!

why not take your own bottles and some cartons of pre mixed formula? much more hygienic. also you can use milton sterilising tablets at the hospital too!! hope that helps. good luck with everything Xx

I would try to find out if there is a way for you to sterilize bottles there. I know for both of mine early on they ate every 1-2 hours and we went through a ton of bottles

Get some ready to feed cartons and ask the hospital if they provide cold water sterilisers they normally do, don't worry if not though I use 3 different brands of bottles with LO and he's never had teat confusion I think it's more of a worry if your combi feeding :)

Xxx
