On Wednesday we found out that we are having our second boy and so DH has finally lift the "no talking about baby names" and I'm raring to go. Only problem is he doesn't seem to like the ones I do (says they may grow on him though)

I already have a little boy called Connor and would like to stay with the Scottish/Irish feel. We are scottish, living in Scotland. My favourite name at the moment is Brodie/Brody although I do also like Blair. What are your thoughts on Brodie? Preferred spelling?

Any other suggestions sticking to the Scottish /Irish feel? I'd prefer nothing too common although I know Connor isn't exactly unusual :haha:

I really like Brodie with both spellings, although I think with a y is more masculine and ie seems more feminine to me. Congratulations :)

I like Brody and Blair ☺️ What about Angus or Lewis

Lewis is too popular for us - I've known several - and whilst we like Angus, we really don't like Gus as a potential nickname!

My son went to nursery with a Brodie, I think it's a lovely name! Other ones I can think of (not sure if they are all Scottish but they're mostly names I know from school or people I have met in life lol)

I work with a male Brody, it’s a good unusual name! I’m in England x

I really like Brody! It just sounds funny with our last name, so we could never use it.

i love brodie :) prefer ie spelling

struan is my favourite scottish name (also scottish living in scotland) and i wanted to call DD that if she was a boy but FOB veto'd it :(

DH has said no to Brody so I'm a little heartbroken. Back to the drawing board! Any more suggestions?

How about Griffin? You could also do Griffy.

I prefer the Brodie spelling not sure why though.

Other names that may work:

Callan
Louis
Cairney
Owen/ Eoin (Irish)
Arran
Lucas
Matthew
James

Hope that helps some, I’m also Scottish and find loads of names just don’t sound right in my accent!
