Yesterday when I went to the bathroom I had some brown blood on my underwear and when I wiped. It was more than just spotting. I went to the er and they give a urine sample right away and the blood already seemed like it was stopping. They did blood tests and an ultrasound and said everything looked fine. I saw the baby and the dr said he/she is growing in the right place and the right size for about how far along I am. I'm still really nervous about the situation even though the dr said it was okay. This is my first pregnancy and the first time I've had any bleeding. I'm not having any pain or cramps and the blood seems to have stoppes I can just notice a little tint of brown blood when I wipe ( barely noticeable) I just wanted to know if any of you also had this and what might cause the bleeding at 8 weeks? Thanks in advance <3

Hiya, it seems quite common as I've posted my experience on quite a few threads:) I had exactly the same, went to the loo at 9 weeks exactly as felt wet and had brown blood in my knickers and a fair bit when I wiped, I panicked a lot as that's how my mc started, luckily I had an appointment with my consultant that day and, preparing for him to tell me it's all over, there was baby, hb and measuring 5 days ahead, no sign at all of any bleeding around baby but when he removed the ultrasound wand it did have some on, he reassured me everything was absolutely fine and thought that an orgasm possibly could of had caused the bleed so although we hadn't bd at all since finding out I was pregnant he said with my history complete pelvic rest, the brown cleared up by the next day and I'm happy to report 2 & a half weeks on and I've had no more problems, it's so scary to see blood or even discharge of any kind when pregnant but it really can be ok, lots luv hun xxxx

I have no idea what might cause it, but there are a lot of us who are experiencing the same thing.
The fact that you saw the baby and the Dr said he/she is doing well is a great sign!! I know how scary it is though, I've been spotting for almost a week now!

:hugs:

Thanks ladies. It was so scary for me and I was expecting the worst when I went into the er but seeing my little baby for the first time made me feel a bit better. I'm still afraid something could go wrong but seeing that it has happened to other people and was normal makes me feel a little more calm.

You can't help but feel scared but after two mc I know only too well they are accompanied by awful pain and the bleeding increases quite quickly usually turning red as mine did. It's great you have no pain and have seen you lo, although it's not normal so to speak to bleed it is really common and there's so many of us that have this and everything is just fine:) xxx

Good thing my bleeding has practically stopped. I was put on pelvic rest and when the dr did an exam he said all he saw was dry blood and my cervix was closed.

I too had brown spotting from week 7-8 and then from 8-9 it turned brighter red.

I spoke with my GP and she said it was 'implantation bleeding'.... 8 weeks in? right.

Anyway. I did a bunch of research and it turned out that in that time period, the mucus plug forms. Clearly this is made of blood and other not so pretty components so concluded that's what it was.

I'm 11 weeks now and we've heard the heartbeat since so you should be okay as long as you don't have much cramping. :)

Thanks that makes me feel a lot better. I'm glad other people have experienced it as well and still have gone on with a healthy pregnancy. I was really worried because I didn't know you could still bleed at this point and everything be alright. I knew around implantation it is normal to bleed but I'm way past that.

I also haven't really been having any cramping besides the light on and off cramps I've been getting since finding out I was pregnant.

The pains I got with both my miscarriages werent like cramps, they were really strong contraction like pains, so I wouldn't worry about the cramps, I get lots of stretching and pulling sensations now I'm nearing 12 weeks that started at 10 weeks, I think it's normal to get all different sorts of sensations:) xx
