I've tested after meals (1 hour after first bite) twice today. The first time I got 176; the second was 168. The MFM said to call if it's over 135, but I don't know if she means immediately and have her paged or if I can wait until they open on Monday. I'm 8 1/2 weeks with twins. What do you think, do I need to do something ASAP or should I just call first thing Monday morning? How bad is the 160-170 range (I know it's well over what she gave me)? I'm going to retest at 2 hour and see what I get.

I was instructed to call if three out of any five readings in a row are higher than 130 after meals or higher than 90 in the morning.
Not sure how bad your numbers are, I understand that occasional elevated readings are acceptable though not great. Do u have any idea what caused them to be that high?

I've had issues since I delivered my daughter. I think I started with GD (though she died before I was diagnosed) and the new pregnancy is probably stressing my body out. I do go to an endo who did A1C and I think fasting levels (among other things) and said they were fine when I first found out I was pregnant. He said I have PCOS/ IR and put me on Glumetza, but it doesn't seem to be working now. The MFM told me to just check my levels the 4x a day and if we need she'll switch me to insulin. I didn't eat anything I would consider horrible today, so they shouldn't really be that elevated. I'll see what is does tomorrow morning and after meals and maybe call after that if they are still high. Do you think she would mind getting paged for that?

I'm sure it is fine to give them a call. My diabetic educator from MFM would always call me back in 5-10 minutes, she's really nice. Pity that it's the weekend now...
Maybe you ate some particular type of carbs that made your levels spike despite small quantities? I remember I also had a couple of readings above 180 after a half cup of rice. Have to stick to oat fiber tortillas now, esp. for breakfast, they are disgusting lol

They're starting me on insulin and taking me off Glumetza. I'm also going to the diabetes educator either tomorrow or next Tuesday (they're trying to get me in for tomorrow).
