Had a slight bleed at about 22 weeks and had a scan to find source if bleeding, 2 weeks later had a midwife app and they said couldn't find source all looked ok.
Today they mention that the scan they did after bleed showed bub had enlarged kidneys. She said prob nothing to worry about and it usually fixes itself, and since I hadn't had any more bleeding I could drop back to the standard 4 weekly appointments and the less critical but closer to me hospital (they swapped me to a better hospital after bleed)
They said after the birth they just need to make sure bub can wee properly and prob a scan at 3 months old.
Freaking out
Advice or similar situations anyone??

My nephew had this, and it resolved itself. I hope this is the case for you and lo!! Oh they did bug her a little more in the recovery area, monitoring his diapers and such. They had my sister save every diaper and they came and took a look before she threw it away, she was told for blood (which he never had any) , but Jack is now the sweetest 6 yr old! Good luck hun <3

Is it called pyelectasis? I was told at my 20w appointment that my LO has pyelectasis but "not to worry" and that they'll just need another ultrasound at 32 weeks to see how it is. I was told if Its not resolved by 32w then they'll give LO an ultrasound after shes born, and that if it continues and doesn't resolve itself then she won't be able to play heavy duty sports like hockey or football.

I wasn't too worried until I started reading up on it and aparently its a very soft marker for down syndrome.. Its common to have in pregnancy and everything turn out okay, but I still read stories about young couples whose results from their DS test came back great but baby had pyelectasis and ended up having down syndrome. Not that I would love her any less but I had an episode at the beginning of my pregnancy where my dates were off so my down syndrome tests came back 1/37! I was so confused and stressed.. even though it resolved itself, to have another thing pop up that indicates soft marker for down syndrome is stressful!

anyway I dont want to scare you, just telling you what I read about. I think you're referring to pyelectasis when their kidneys are dilated right?

If it is what pp has said, that isn't what my nephew had. I wish u the best!! Good luck loves

I did read its a soft marker for downs. But "soft" markers only count if u have several of them. My nuchal tests were all clear
