Happy 7 months Chloe :happydance: Glad to hear she doesn't have the chicken pox and you were able to enjoy your weekend together!

Happy 7 months Chloe. i'm still at mum's looks like i'm here till Friday. I'm enjoying the company but missing OH, he came to stay last night and as gone home today as he's visiting family then lots of work on this week.

Noah seems to be coming on really well but keeps getting frustrated that he's not moving anywhere very fast :haha:

Been for a lovely walk with OH and Noah today, was nice and simple but I loved it (think we've forgot the simple things somewhat).

Happy 7months Chloe & Happy 8 months Autumn! :happydance:

Kaites, I'm always curious with Emma's developmental milestones since her & harry were born the same day, so it's funny they both learned to clap at similar time, lol. Harry's almost starting to wave, but it's a bit half hearted as if he's not quite sure he's doing it right, hehe.

Maffie, I really should go out for more walks!

Well, we had an eventful day. We had to take my nephew Joshy up to A&E coz one side of his face swelled up. Turns out he has an absess under his bottum back molar, so they've given him anti-biotics & a dentist referral, where they'll put him under, take the tooth out & drain the absess, poor little guy :(
But on a good note, my best friend in Norfolk just had the baby girl she always wanted (8 days late, but only had g&a, unlike her last labour which was a 26hr labour after a 2 day induction at 12 days late! :dohh: ) so I'm thrilled for her & now I finally have an excuse to buy some girly baby clothes, lol.

Oh and Harry's gonna have a pic on a website! Those bandana bibs that I said about are amazing, and I sent the lady an email saying thanks & if she had anymore limited edition ones that I could look at & sent a lil pic of Harry in one of his & she was so impressed, she asked if she could use his pic when she next updates the site! I said yes, and she's giving me a discount when I order more bibs :) Can't complain, hehe.

anyways, hope everyone enjoyed the bank holiday?

For six nights now Monty has woken almost every hour between 7 and 5. Then he wakes for the day at 5.30am. He was never a great sleeper, but this is so much worse and definitely the hardest thing I've done as a mum. When he wakes it can take 20 minutes to get him back to sleep, so I'm getting maybe 40minutes before he wakes again. There is no way I'm even attempting to try putting him back in his cot once he's woken, so he's just in with me all night. Then we have to get up at 5.30am and face the day. During the day, he is managing at best an hour's nap, but more like half an hour, and that's it. The odd thing is that he is not grizzly with it, in fact you wouldn't know he had missed so much sleep. But I am seriously so tired that I don't know what I am doing. There is no way I dare drive the car, because I just don't think I would be safe in it. I wasn't this tired when he was newborn, and at least then I expected it all anyway. Now, I am so taken aback by what is going on that I am in shock as to what's happened to his nights. OMG, I sooooo want OH to come home.

I actually don't know what to do. I mean, this can't be good for him can it, having this little sleep in every 24 hours? We are seeing HV tomorrow for a weigh-in, so I will talk to her. But in the meantime, does anybody have a clue what's going on?

Oh colsy huge :hugs: I hoep it is a very short phase for monty, could the room be too light?

:hugs: Colsy, that sounds a nightmare for you, espcially while you're on your own too. Could he over-stimulated at all? Or like Maffie said, it could be the light... Or developmentally, if he's learning new things recently, it could be that he's burning crazy amounts of calories & needs those extra feeds to keep him going? Or normal things like teething, growing pains from having a growth spurt, wind... I noticed that if I dont leave a long enough gap between when Harry has his evening meal & goes to bed, then he is awful as I think it sits uncomfortably on his tummy & makes it ache so he doesn't sleep very well... Whatever it is, I REALLY hope for your sake it passes soon & Monty's sleeping habits get a bit more back to 'normal' very quickly... :hugs:
Harry's due to be weighed tomorrow too. I hadn't realised but it's been 5 weeks since he last got weighed & the HV wants him done every 4 weeks, until he's 10 months old :dohh:

anyways, better go as Harrybo smells... again. Anyone else find that when LO has meat (he munched really well on chicken & vege last night) they poo more???

Colsy- :hugs: I really hope this frequent waking phase passes for you soon :hugs: I've no other suggestions than what the other ladies have already mentioned  I hope the HV has some advice :hugs:

Flora- I like to hear about Harry's development too :) I have a feeling he'll be crawling and doing all the mobile-type stuff first- Emma just isn't interested yet. Harry sounds like such a fun and happy baby, playing himself to sleep :) I love your new avatar!

Maffie- Sounds like a lovely afternoon with your OH yesterday. I need to get mine out for walks again. We got out of the habit when he broke a bone in his foot and I miss it. Hope baby #2 isn't making you too tired. Does #2 have a nickname yet?

I got my first "mamamamamama" today :happydance: I don't think Emma was trying to call me Mama but she knows it gets me all excited and thinks it's the greatest game ever. I think she's been silently practising for a couple days- I noticed she was smacking her lips like a fish (can't think of another way to describe it, lol) and now I realize it was "mama" without any sound. Anyway, hope everyone is well! I better get going- my parents are coming round to pick up Emma and I and we're going out to an Indian restaurant for lunch-yummmm :)

kaites, he quite often falls asleep flat on his face on the floor having worn himself out playing... he only naps for about 10 mins, then he's on the go again. He still has his 2 naps during the day of about an hour each time, and sleeps in the night in 4 hour stretches, so usually wakes up 2-3 times in a 12 hour stint. I think he's just sooo active, never just being still that he gets worn out quickly. Plus he is LOUD!!! He is full of supersonic squeals & babbles like mama, dada, nana, rara, gaga, haha, blahblahblah (that one cracks me up, as the way he says it is like, yeah alright mother, shut up now!)... He still hasn't figured out crawling, but is happy boucning on his tummy & rocking back n forth & dragging himself across the room by his arms :dohh: He's also taken to not bothering with rolling over anymore- I haven't seen him roll for about 4 days now. He has started walking himself forards while sitting so he's bent double, then flinging his legs round the sides (cant be good for his hips, lol) so that he lands on his tummy, which is amusing to watch, as sometimes he's a bit enthusiastic & face plants into the rug instead then does the 'big lip quiver' until I say 'oh dear' & laugh, at which point he smiles again & carries on.

sorry, I could talk all day about him :dohh: lol

I got my first "mamamamamama" today :happydance:

me too from sam!!! he's just copying cos we say it to him but makes me feel special lol

just a quick glance on here before bed

colsy :hugs: i really hope this phase passes for you soon hopefully the hv can give some advice tomorrow x

ARGGHH!! I'm SO sick of SNOT! Yup, she's a lil snot box again. No fever, no grumpiness .. just SNOT and a bit of a cough. I think she picked up something at the pool on Sunday. I'm knackered at the moment cause where she can't breath, I have to suction her during the night. She woke up 9 times on Sun night, 3 times last night (which is better!) and once so far tonight. Poor lil mite. She's propped up on her boppy in there at the moment. I hate it when I get over tired tho cause I get wicked migraine attacks (like now! God Bless codine)

So we've had to lower her cot down tonight as she is pulling up to her knees! HER KNEES. This is NOT allowed. Can't I just be given a couple months of simple 1mph crawling?? Which one of you are whispering her the secrets to this?? ;) .. oh she's also taken to .. I dunno how to describe it .. .. so she has her hands on the floor, her feet flat on the floor and her butt is up in the air so she looks like an upside down V .. yes, this is how we're getting around ..

Of course, the cats are mortified at this crawling creature that's developed. She'll spot one, get a big smile on her face, start going towards who ever it is, screeching at the top of her voice. The cats arses don't even touch the stairs, they just evaporate in to nothing lol. Warp speed!!

I dunno if I told you or not, that we brought the stray cat in (Now called Charlie) we had a week of isolation in a bedroom while vaccinations/flea treatments took effect. Hes settled in really well, he's now free range in the house with the other 2. They are not best friends by no means, but they are tolerating each other, and each day they get a bit more comfortable around each other. I can't believe someone just dumped him, it breaks my heart, he is SO loving. He loves to have his belly rubbed, he licks like a dog! and has so many funny quirks. I'll never understand how someone can just abandon an animal like him :(

Kaites ~ I love Emmas blue dress! That lil paddling pool is just too cute!! Re constipation, when lil button got stuffed up, the ped said to give her a bit of pear juice, or prunes. All I can say is get a hazmat suit and stand back 50 ft, cause it REALLY works well :)

Maffie ~ The video of Noah is great! Re rash, Autumn gets a bit of a rash on her cheek when her teeth are bothering her.

Colsy ~ Sorry you're having a rough time with teeth. It is only temp .. Autumn was the same while that blasted top tooth was cutting. She'd wake up about 8 times a night. Her poor top gum was purple and so swollen. As soon as it broke the skin she was better!
Re your post today .. maybe its a change of routine thats bothering him .. IE your hubby aint at home .. as it seemed to have started when he left for work? Maybe he's just missing his Daddy? How is he napping in the day time?

CraftyMum ~ Hi, great to see you back on here!!

Flora ~ yay on clapping hands! lil miss likes to do it too, but on her terms lol We're working on baby sign language at the moment for various things.

OH, So, I got up off the sofa yesterday and went to get something out the kitchen and I heard 'mum', I swished round and she was crawling towards me! I practically screeched with excitement haha. It was not a fluke! I refuse to believe it was!!! ;)

Kte ~ Glad to see that Chloe does not have Chicken Pox. Hows things with all the bother at home, going better I hope and is less stressful. Are the pills helping you any? :hugs:

Here are a couple pics!

Pulling up on my VERY unsteady laptop table.

Ok this Codine is starting to make me a bit loopy lol!

Morning all, gosh Noah wasn't happy last night had to resort to calpol his mouth was bad. He's full of beans today though.

Flora not seen what meat has done to poo yet he tried it for the first time yesterday. He has smelly wind though.

Kaites no nickname for baby except sproglet 2 (Noah was sproglet) Im not feeling as over protective yet as I did with Noah. More nerves than anything. It seems to be flying by too.

I agree prune or apple and pear juice for constipation to it can be messy :haha:

Right time for a coffee before I make Noah's porridge.

Morning all, I decided I couldn't really catch up as such but wanted to say cute pics and vids!! :flower:

Colsy, sorry I have no clue, hope the HV can help you. :hugs:

Flora, awh, I so wish Chloe would flop when she plays, she never does, bet its really cute when Harry does it! Talk away! I'm sure we are all the same!! Chloe isn't on meat yet so not sure, will let you know, she will be having some soon!

Jo: Happy 8 months for sam :flower: How is the course going?

Maffie: Glad Noah is full of beans this morning after last night.

Chaos: Ooo hope Autumn's nose clears up soon and you don't get anymore of those nasty migrains :hugs: Love the crawling pictures! Funny how she is making a beeline for your kitty, Chloe looks at them and yells and gets all giddy because she wants to 'stroke' them. Grab more like bless! Shame Chloe can't hang with Autumn, think they would make a right pair! Things at home are picking up thanks, I'm not sure if the pills are working, well they are, I don't freak out at stuff like I did but its all still swirling around in there. They just make me so dopey/drowsy, good job I don't have to drive anywhere at the mo!

Well I'm off work for two weeks, docs orders so I can my life back on track  Fell bad for work but I'd be no good to them anyways, took me a million attempts to make up Chloe's bottles the other day! Chloe bum is at the nursery today, she hasn't been since last Thursday what with chicken pox scare and bank holiday Mon, she had the hugest grin when we got there! Obv bored of Mummy! She has started to shout but no real sounds or words popping out yet.

EDIT: Ooh, nearly forgot to add this! It was baby clinic yesterday so seen as I was down at the doc's anyway I thought I would pop into baby clinic and get Chloe weighed. The last time was on the 9th March and she was 16lbs 4oz . . . so yesterday on 1st June she was . . . . 17lbs 15! I seriously thought she would be more than that! Although the HV still called her big because of her lenght. So she is just above the 50th centile now for weight, when she was born she was on the 25th and shot up to 98th, moved down to 91st for a bit before yesterdays reveal of just above 50th!!! She is happy and healthy so I'm not worried.

I'm thinking about doing the Usborne book selling thing, not sure though, I want to but is it really the right time?. I am interested but don't know if there is any competition in the area and worried I'm not up to it. Got some good ideas other than schools and libraries. Not sure. Need to decided soon really and the extra income would be a bonus. Don't really want to waste £38 on books though if I don't succeed if that makes sense.

I just thought, with us all celebrating 7 months and 8 month milestones . . . took forever when we were pregnant don't you think?!? :haha:

:haha: We just getting in early then! x

Jo: Happy 8 months for sam :flower: How is the course going?

yeah course is going good still waiting on results back from my tutor, she's really busy with june moderation so i can wait i suppose.

im onto biology now which is far more interesting than filling out fake UCAS forms!

Kte - Glad you've got two weeks off to help sort yourself out.

Sam went to the Dr today, he had a cold last week which was pretty bad, i was up alot through the night with him which is so unlike him usually he's down 8pm till 8am. Anyway now he cant shift his cough, he's so wheezy and his chest really rattles. So he's on penicillin for a week now.
Also Chloe is with my mum for half term and she went to go swimming lesson last night but they pulled her out the pool cos she said she couldnt breathe and her chest was really hurting, so they advised taking her to A&E which my mum did. They x rayed her and said she has a bit of fluid in her lungs and a chest infection.

We're off to get photos done today - the local paper is running a baby competion so im gonna enter Sam :) we get the choice to purchase pictures too.

Jo, sorry, I thought his b'day was the 2nd! :dohh:

Just got back from getting Harry weighed- 16lbs 5oz & he'll be 8mths on the 6th, so still just on that 9th centile line, so all good. :) Had a great chat with this HV, who was an older lady I've never seen before, and man, she was awesome! So knowledgable & supportive & gave some great advice to me on weaning, BLW, bum rash, teething, sleeping, development etc- she was freaking awesome & I cudda hugged the lady, lol.

Colsy, I've managed to get signed up for the 'learning through play' course next week :happydance: and also I'm going to 'Breastfeeding in The Park' which is a family picnic and play date for BFing mothers in the south of Hampshire, so that should be good & I'm also gonna start going to a new mum n baby group on weds afternoons at the local preschool, so hopefully we'll be able to meet some new people n get some friends in this area really soon :)

how's everyone else doing???

Good afternoon!

Hope everyone is having a good day :) Emma and I went out to lunch again with my Mum today  I could really get used to being spoiled like this, lol! Emma is such a Grandma's girl now, smiling and clapping when she sees her- smart kid knows who's gonna spoil her rotten :haha: Anyway, Emma has been awesomely behaved in the restaurants, making it fun to go out- it's hubby's birthday this weekend and we're spending the weekend at a hotel so it's nice to know she should be easy to take to the restaurants. Today Emma learned to morph her "mamamamama" into "Emma"- total fluke but still kinda cool :) She's passed out from exhaustion now but I have a feeling it might be a long night since she really hasn't BF'd or eaten too much today- too busy chatting up a storm during meals.

Flora- chat away about Harry- we like hearing about him :) Emma's blahblahblah cracks me up too- she also does a yeahyeahyeah that reminds me of a teenager. Sounds like you have lots of activities starting up soon! We start baby signing on Monday :)

Jo- even if it is just copying, it's still pretty awesome, isn't it? Happy 8 mths on Friday! Hope Chloe and Sam feel better soon :hugs:

Chaos- Cute piccies of Autumn! I love the ones of her and the cats. I hope her nose and your migraine clear up quickly :hugs: Our cat is mortified that Emma is starting to scoot on her bum a bit too. Emma gets so excited when the cat comes close enough to touch that she can't control her excitement and screeches. Poor cat just looks defeated most of the time- ultimate insult for the cat was seeing hubby share his chicken with the baby instead of her :haha: We've used the juice trick to get things moving too- that combined with a tummy massage really works

Maffie- hope Noah's mouth isn't as bad today :hugs:

Kte- Glad to hear you've got some time off work :hugs: I think Emma's growth has slowed a lot too- probably because they are getting more active. Even if she's not crawling yet, she's probably burning up lots of energy playing- esp with all the fun she seems to have at the nursery :) The Usborne books sounds like a good idea. Bet you could sell some at baby groups and when I was working on my teaching degree, I used to buy lots of kids books so maybe if there is a teaching program at your uni, that might be another captive audience for the books

Hope everyone has a good night, filled with lots of uninterrupted sleep :winkwink:

Wow quiet day in here! Hope we're all well :hugs:

Not much going on here- Emma was up every 2 hrs last night  She's on nap #2 of the day now  Hopefully a quiet day will get her back to normal  She's starting to get more adventurous with her reaching forward- she's been doing a bit of a bum scoot but she's almost turning her reach into a crawl (if that makes any sense). I forsee lots of tears when she face plants on the floor! Anyhoo, I better get my lazy butt off the couch- toodles!

Hi all,

I haven't a clue what has been going on in this thread  I do try to keep up, but it never happens  lol

Well I think I came on a few weeks ago saying DD had chicken pox? Theo now has it! He's so poorly with it poor thing :( he is covered head to toe in spots, he even has them on the soles of his feet, under his little boy bits, under his armpits...it must be soo uncomfortable! He has mittens on in bed tonight to stop him scratching, will have to see how that goes, have left his cream up there incase I need to apply it during the night!
Does anyone know how long they are itchy for? DD didnt get it bad at all, didn't itch once...she was very lucky!!

Apart from that we are all good, i'm at Ultralase tomorrow (laser eye surgery clinic) for another review then hopefully I will be able to book my pre op and actually procedure :happydance: I can't wait to ditch the glasses and contact lenses! However they can't do it at the manchester branch, they are sending me to Maidstone(!) a little weekend away job I think, all expenses paid ..., so its all quite exciting really!
I'm back at work on the 14th June, finally found a new child minder so I know the babies will be okay, more me that will be fretting....not looking forward to going back at all! Roll on college in September I say

Jo: I think it was you that is at college...just wanted to be cheeky and ask what sort of childcare help you get and if you get any student financial help? And how you are coping money wise etc...starting to panic a little now that we may not cope well with me not earning any money, my MA ran out last week and we are already struggling :(!

Off to get a cup of tea and a few biscuits now and catch up with some tellie :coffee: Hope your all well & LOs are happy and healthy!

x
