Hello All, lovely lovely sunshine!

Mellie: Poor Theo, hope they stop being all itchy soon for him :flower:

Kaites: Sounds nice with your Mum, my Mum is the same and Chloe loves Nana too, knows she gets nice treats from her! Although Chloe is my Mum's 4th Grandchild she is her 1st proper grandchild in a way so she gets special treatment.

Chloe was awake at 4am this morning, not good! She slept a bit better she just wakes up really upset. She has gone back down to 1 bottle a night which is good. I read somewhere that our LO's are supposed to go to sleep, theoretically, from 7pm until 7am. ??? I just don't know. It says they shouldn't be fed at night now and to water down the milk until its just water so they stop waking for it. I'm not too keen on doing this, I mean I give her water in addition to milk sometimes but she still does the same, she prob worse at waking infact. Plus she doesn't really wake up, she stirs in her sleep but isn't full blown awake. Not sure what to do. I want to move her in her own room soon but I'm worried about the amount of times I will have to get up to go see her. Wonder why our little sleepers have gotten worse? :hugs: all

Hi all,

I haven't a clue what has been going on in this thread  I do try to keep up, but it never happens  lol

Well I think I came on a few weeks ago saying DD had chicken pox? Theo now has it! He's so poorly with it poor thing :( he is covered head to toe in spots, he even has them on the soles of his feet, under his little boy bits, under his armpits...it must be soo uncomfortable! He has mittens on in bed tonight to stop him scratching, will have to see how that goes, have left his cream up there incase I need to apply it during the night!
Does anyone know how long they are itchy for? DD didnt get it bad at all, didn't itch once...she was very lucky!!

Apart from that we are all good, i'm at Ultralase tomorrow (laser eye surgery clinic) for another review then hopefully I will be able to book my pre op and actually procedure :happydance: I can't wait to ditch the glasses and contact lenses! However they can't do it at the manchester branch, they are sending me to Maidstone(!) a little weekend away job I think, all expenses paid ..., so its all quite exciting really!
I'm back at work on the 14th June, finally found a new child minder so I know the babies will be okay, more me that will be fretting....not looking forward to going back at all! Roll on college in September I say

Jo: I think it was you that is at college...just wanted to be cheeky and ask what sort of childcare help you get and if you get any student financial help? And how you are coping money wise etc...starting to panic a little now that we may not cope well with me not earning any money, my MA ran out last week and we are already struggling :(!

Off to get a cup of tea and a few biscuits now and catch up with some tellie :coffee: Hope your all well & LOs are happy and healthy!

x

poor theo hope he's better soon

yep its me doing the course but im doing distance learning via the DLC its £50 a month which i do think is a lot but i couldnt afford to give up work to go to college. its the same course as you would do in college and you can start whenever you want they say its do-able in 12 months but most do it in less time. most of the girls i speak to online have at least 2 kids and work and still manage to get the work done.

Dudes, so I have been at it with the calculater having researched everything properly & IF I got back to work, I will make... wait for it.... £14 a week. What a fricking waste of time. If you take my wages & barely worth it Child Tax Credits, take away bus fare, child care, tax & national insurance, based on me working the 30hrs a week shifts my work has proposed, will only be left qith £14 a week in my pocket. Screw that. I am not palming my child off to a CM & babysitters at random times of the day while I slog my guts out at work & never bloody see him for a lousy £14 a week. I gotta go ring my boss now & see if there's anything she can do so I can have more childcare & bus friendly hours & if not, then I am quitting, because I'd rather be broke & care for Harry myself then be broke & hardly see him... :( Stupid bloody country. I can see now why some women choose not to work & live off benefits if it means they're financially better off. Thatnkgod hubby's wages are good enough that we can still afford the mortgage, bills & car, even if it means we wont be able to save or have treats like holidays for a while... *ggggrrrrrrrr*

Afternoon all, well Noah did 10 hours last night I still woke up at 3am for a wee  We have just come home, was lovely staying at mum's. I think she was quite upset when we left. Going to miss them loads. Wish I could drive then i'd see them more often.

Noah is full of beans, always on the go from the second he wakes up. He seems to of upped his activity levels by 100% in the last week.

Ive also foud out my dating scan in on Monday :saywhat: thats no notice to get OH to go with me  and they wont change it as they are adamant im already 12-14 weeks and im thinking no im about 9-10 weeks cos I have a long cycle. :grr: Happy to be having the scan but they look more like a baby after so many weeks. Wonder if they'll let me have another scan if im too early or if i'll have to wait till 20 weeks.

Maffie, I had a scan at 9 weeks then went back at 12 weeks thinking I would get another scan, all excited and filled my bladder...and then only had my bloods done :( wasnt impressed!! Might be diff for you though, fingers x'd...exciting that you have a scan on Monday though!

Hi everyone,

not been on in ages....too much going on to even think lol

Earl is great! No teeth yet but lumpy gums ahoy. I think he's the last Bumpkin without teeth lol.....anyone else still gummy?

Kte - I've cut out all of Earl's night feeds bar 1. He was taking 3 and it was getting ridiculous. He was waking ever 3 hours on the dot and draining a full6oz bottle and then not drinking any milk at all in the day. Now he has 3 6oz bottles in the day and then one at about 9pm (either he wakes or I give as a DF before I go to bed) as a top-up to his formula intake. He's on 20-25oz instead of 30-36! I just stopped giving him milk and switched to water and I've only had 1 night where he's put up a fight where he kept on waking up for nearly 2 hours. In the end a spot of CC and he fell asleep til 6.

As for sleeping - Earl sleeps for around 11 hours. I was told 10-13hrs is normal range, just as 6-9 is normal for adults. Normally goes down at 6.30-7 and is up 5.30-6.30 depending on how tired he is etc. I've tried moving his bedtime to later but he still wakes at this time so may as well leave him as he is lol.

What else? Hmmmmm Earl has learnt to stand (obviously with assistance lol) - he will now instantly stand up when you hold his hands rather than want to be picked up. He seems to have stalled on the crawling but I'm sure that the standing is just distracting him. He does better on our bed as the softer surface is more forgiving on his knees I think lol.

We've handed in notice on the house - we're officially moving at the end of the month. I'm still job hunting and I'm not having much luck at all. I'm applying for anything and I've even registered with ac ouple of agencies and nothing! I'm hoping one particular one will come up that I applied for yesterday - PA to the MD of a Wine Merchants! :wine: lol

Best go rescue the small one from his bouncer.......he's just so full of beans!

Hope we're all ok ladies....sorry I've not got time to give a full reply.....gotta go write a load of envelopes to send of the rest of the letters re: the move. Oh what fun! lol

Morning ladies!

Happy Friday :) We had another night of waking every 2 hrs- bloody developmental "spurt" I'm pretty sure that's what's going on since Emma is way more active now and is so close to turning the bum scoot into a crawl. When she wakes up, I try to soothe her by shushing and patting but now she actually bats my hand away from her chest and does her "up" sign- persistent child, lol :) This afternoon my brother is coming round for a little visit and helping me assemble the BBQ we bought for hubby's birthday- I could probably figure out how to put it all together myself, but with Emma demanding attention, having another set of hands will be a huge help.

Kte- I really don't know either re:night feedings  We BF so it's a little different but I know Emma is usually thirsty when she wakes up too- she always wants a short feed. I'm usually thirsty when she wakes me up too, so I guess babies can be the same, lol :)

Mellie- I hope Theo isn't too itchy! Poor baby :hugs: How'd last night go with the mittens?

Jo- Happy 8 mths Sam!!

Flora- I wouldn't want to go back to work for 14pounds a week either! I hope your boss can give you the hours you want- if you actually want to go back to work.

Maffie- enjoy the scan on Monday! ...even if Sproglet #2 doesn't look like a real baby yet :) Crazy to think that it was around this time last year we were all having our 20 week scans!

Aimee- Good luck with the move!

Colsy- Hope you and Monty are okay :hugs:

Any special plans for the weekend? We're heading to a hotel for the weekend :) Nothing romantic since Emma is tagging along :haha: Supposed to piss rain all weekend though so looks like we'll be hanging out beside the indoor pool- I was hoping for nice weather so we could relax on a patio in the afternoon but I guess that isn't happening. It'll just be nice to get out of the house for a night!

woo hoo today sam is 8 months :happydance: lol

Happy 8 months Sam :) Did you hear back about his broken cot yet Jo?

Thanks
Yes i did, basically because OH fixed it (is now even stronger than it originally was) so sam had a bed to sleep in they wont do anything. I know thats probably our own fault but sam needed to sleep somewhere!! So next time i know to leave my baby to sleep on the floor and send the cot back!!! Just Kidding lol At least now though i know it wont break thanks to OH :)

its crap aint it! when we decided what we were gonna do with sam when i went back to work (i earn the most so i had to really!) we were the same and OH was not gonna work and stay home with sam. we wouldnt pay someone to look after him so we could work just to pay them!! luckily he found a job a month before sam was born where he goes to work when i get in, ok so we dont see much of each other but we're raising sam at home with one of us all the time. when i had chloe she was basically raised by my mum as i worked all the hours i could to pay my mortgage - that was hard as now if she dont get her way with me she runs to nan!

Maffie with sam i had a scan at 10 weeks - no idea why - then i had another one at 12 weeks as they said the 10 week one wasnt accurate enough. Hope you get the same!

Flora - that is the most stupid thing I have ever heard!! I would be the same....sod the work for £14 a week! You could earn that selling stuff on ebay in your spare time!! Time to get crafty and start a home business me-thinks! Oh and even broke we can still get away on holidays....gotta love hoseasons!!

I'm thinking I might finish my MSc afterall through the Open University, so thyat when I do go back in the future, I can go in at management level & tell 'em where to go, lol. I will defo do some kinda studying/random course just to keep my brain busy; I feel like I'm going gaga already, lol.

Maffie, Harry's slept through the last 2 nights- he always seems to sleep reallyt well when OH is away. Just proves how frigging noisy he is, lol. Good luck with the scan. I was sent for one at what we all thought was 9 weeks, only it turns out I was 13+1 weeks pregnant :dohh: so I didn't get another till 20 weeks, when they changed the due date yet again... and he didn;t arrive on any of the 3 dates I was given, hehe :)

Jo, that's what my sister had to do with her 1st- my mum & brother looked after Joshy for 3 years while she worked n paid everything... then she had Caleb & hasn't worked since because it would financially ruin her to pay out for 2 lots of childcare, rent, the bills, travel expenses etc... It sucks when people are better off not working, and sucks even more for those who do work every hour in the day to make ends meet out of necessity too. You damned if you do & damned if you dont.
My dad was telling me today that mum went back to work when I was 16 weeks old & my aunty looked after me for 2 years & I used to call her mum & would scream & kick when my actual mum came to pick me up each night, because I didn't know if I was coming or going... I would hate for Harry to not realise I was his mummy :(

Mellie- Hope Theo's pox clear up real soon, poor little mite. :hugs:

Kte- how's the home life going, if you dont mind me asking? I hope things are getting better? Re the night feeds... no idea as I BF, but when Harry does wake up, I always leave him a little while to see if he self settles, but if not, I get up & feed him, but it's always very quick (like 10mins max) & then he's back down again. My sister used to give Caleb only a couple of oz when he woke up, rather than a full feed during the night, then he'd have his usual big bottle in the real morning

Aimee- Harry has no teeth yet either, but does have very lumpy gums and a pointy ridge (I assume a molar?) at the back on one side too that's giving him gip. He refuses to open his mouth for bonjela, so we have to use the granules & plenty of teething toys, which thankgod, he does like!

Kaites, has Emma's rash gone now?

Ummm. have I missed anyone out?

Thanks for that Jo :flower:...think I will just do the college course, i'm more likely to do work if I have to goto college for it, if I did it at home, it would never get done...too much distraction lol! Thinking about getting a part time job at the local Tesco doing evening work to get abit of extra help

Flora: That really sucks , I think I would rather stay home or goto college than be on that kind of money too...not worth it, especially for the amount of messing about it is going to be!!

Kaites: Hope Emma sleeps better for you tonight , and have a lovely weekend away, sounds fun...i'd love to get away from the house for the weekend!

Well Theo was up at 2 till 3, then 5 til 6 & then finally up for the day at 7:30 last night :coffee:, poor thing was wiggling around his cot and tossing and turning, still asleep but crying too :( he must of been itching sooo much! I ended up putting him into our bed around 2:30 and even giving him a bottle to distract him from the itching and goto sleep  it worked, but not a habit I want to get back into - night feeding! He had socks over his hands too, he got a little frustrated with them at first but eventually kept them on.

Today we went to Toys 'r' us to pick up a new game for DD, Theo cried all the way there, all the way round and then all the way back too , poor thing was so hot and sweaty and itching!:cry: so we managed to book him an appt at the docs and they have prescribed him an anti histamine to soothe the itching, so far so good  he took a while to goto sleep, OH had to rock him and walk around the room, not like my lil man at all! But so far he has managed to stay asleep, gonna head upto bed myself soon, just hope I get a good few hours or even a whole night would be nice!

Just really hope he is better soon, really heartbreaking to see him poorly :(

No plans for tomorrow, just cuddles on the couch with my little man I think...let DD run around and in and out of the garden , then at the night time i'm off to a wedding reception with my sister, looking forward to it...just hope OH will be okay at home with Theo & I wont have to come home early ( awful I know!)

Anyway better go, loosing out on valuable sleep!! Night ladies

x

Snot in my cleavage. This pretty much describes my whole day. Bleh.

Ugh *huge bags under eyes* she has been doing it again, I think the only hour I didn't see was 4am; she is still at it now but I have to wait for water to cool, have tried self settle this morning etc but now I think it is hunger. She only takes 2 - 4 oz when she wakes in the night. . . That's it, Im getting her up now. . .BRB . . . okay so now she is sat playing, as if nothing, as if she hasn't been crying for ages

Ooo, Flora mentioned Harry has a proper morning feed, well Chloe gets up, isn't fussed, is usually up for an hour and then takes a nap, then she wants a feed after her nap. So why all the fuss in bed?

Aimee: When did you do the controlled crying? She is so good with naps, it's just bed time, I really don't get it. I can't see how she can be hungry too, she had 5oz bottle, a decent portion of veg puree and a fromage frais an hour before bed time then the remaining 2oz literally before bed then she went to sleep. She went to bed about 7pm.

Flora: £14 is totally not worth all the hassle you would have to go through! Hope you can sort something out - I do sun 9.50 holidays sometimes, okay so you pay for 4 adults but its still a cheap getaway, I ended up finding a few nice beaches to stop at near Cornwall, Holywell Bay it's called. Good for surfing! Great idea about the course at home too.

Things are getting better at home thanks, Nij has moved back in, he has been back a week now. So that's one thing sorted thankfully! The rest I am getting on with slowly! I wish the accident paperwoek etc would hurry up, I am without a car at the moment and it takes 2 buses to get to CHloe's nursery. It't not bad going to be honest as it takes us and hour to get there, it would be 30 mins in the car!! It just always seems to take me longer to get home, not sure why!

Maffie: Awh, hope you do get another scan, I remember mine was for 12wks although they measured Chloe at 13wks on the day.

Jo: That must be pretty annoying when she runs to your Mum!

Chaos: Oh dear! :hugs: Hopefully all the yucky snot has cleared out whatever it is that is making her poorly now :flower:

Mellie: Glad the prescription has helped ease Theo's itching poor little guy. Enjoy the wedding reception!

Kaites: Enjoy your weekend away, sounds like a nice little getaway!

Well, best get madam her porridge and bottles sorted!

Mornin gall boy do I feel rough. Noah has been up since 4am, he had a feed and then wouldn't sleep just cried and cried. Tried another feed at 6.30 and his crying was worse and then he seemed happy sat on the floor and im guessing the crying was pain as he leaked poo everywhere, through his nappy, his clothes and onto the carpet. (I was quite thankful he was in a disposable so it could go straight in the bin! He's much happier now I think the pouch of food he had for dinner last night caused it :( He then had a nose bleed  I didnt even know babies had them, I phoned mum and she asked if he'd face planted and I said no so she said keep an eye on him. (Was only a little bleed)

Anyway now although he looks tired he's full of beans playing while i'm death warmed up and feeling very hungover (think ms is kicking in harder)

The lady on the phone at the scan place was adamant im 12-14 weeks and I said to her if I had a scan that put me 5-6 weeks and that was 4 weeks ago how does she make out im now 12-14. She just said well you are :dohh: Noah was well hidden so i'm hoping for the same for more scans

Chaos is it a cold or possible allergies?

Kte :hugs: hope you both manage a nap later

Mellie hope Theo is better soon :hugs:

Flora i'd do the same and quit if I was you, I have to stay at my job now and if I use all my leave means i'll only be leaving Noah for 8 weeks probably if that.

Jo I have a feeling Noah is goig to always go to his nan she is spoiling him rotten :dohh:

Jo: That must be pretty annoying when she runs to your Mum!

it is especially now at 10, like last week chloe was grounded and banned from the laptop for a week for mouthing off at me - sounds a bit extreme probably but she is like it everyday and everything that comes out of her mouth at the moment is cheek and she just has an answer for everything, anyway so she was grounded but halfway through the week she went to my mums for half term and even though i told her no one to come round and she's to go nowhere and not use laptop i would bet all my months wages she was allowed to do at least one of those things! :growlmad:

mellie, it is hard to keep motivated working at home but the fact im paying £50 a month is enough to keep me at it lol

im wondering if its the weather playing our bumpkins up too, sam was restless all night last night.

right so im off to wrestle with sam to get his favourite bear blanket to wash it - its stinking!
