I'll probably buy more  although ive been told the digis aren't as sensitive as other tests. Im taking it as preggers anyway

Happy Monday girls!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! I decided to come off my pill over it. It was giving me extreme mood swings, to the point John took the baby and told me to go have a nap lol. Anyways after 2 months of extra long periods and the want to batter peoples heads in, after 2 days of not taking it I feel totally normal again. I wish I could remember the name of the pill I was on in England because it's the only one I've ever got on with.

Kte ~ Hows things there chica? Better I hope :)

Colsy ~ I dunno if you can get them back home, but ask the chemist about 'hylands teething tablets', or you could google it and order some on line. They are a homoeopathic teething remedy, they help calm the baby when teething and you can give them as frequently as hourly. Autumn loves them. You can either give them whole (they dissolve as soon as they hit the tongue) or you can crush them and rub them on the gums. They've been a life saver here!!

LK ~ Glad you found a better man! :)

Aimee ~ Re holding bottles, if we hold the bottle in front of Autumn, she'll take her dummy out, grab the bottle and put it in her mouth but she's not strong enough to tip it up so the milk will flow. It's quite cute tho!!
Sorry you're feeling sick.

Maffie ~ OMG Congrats!!!! (I'm hoping you're happy!!) lol We'll not be far behind you, we wanna try in a couple months. Excited for you!! A new years baby!! :)

Ok, this mama needs some breakfast!

Just a quick hello until Emma's first nap but had to add a big congrats Maffie :happydance: I was wondering who the first bumpkin would be to get preggers again, lol :) Ohhh now you can stock up on newborn fluff too ;)

OMG Maffie, get you! Congratulations my dear, I hope it all goes really well this time around and you don't have the evil MS on your tail all the way. So are you sticking in the Bumpkins thread, or are you shifting to First Tri? Hey, just thought, you're a perfect demonstration that BF is not a contraceptive. I don't mean that you were using it as such, it's just that I know you're a super-duper BF and yet you've still managed to conceive no probs. Hey girl, really excited for you. BTW have you done any stuff with New Mills Sure Start? I was in touch with them t'other day re their pushchair walks - will prob join in when they do some over our way.

On to our news, Monty has two teensy little teeth. So cute. BLW also going amazingly well now. He LOVES purple sprouting broccoli. Need to have a go with letting him drink out of a cup - haven't got round to that yet.

Well back to work for me. No bank holiday for us self-employed people.

First nap of the day underway... Hope everyone had a good weekend! Ours seemed kinda busy but filled with nothing particularly special  It was warm and humid here yesterday and Emma just slept in a t-shirt and nappy last night. Usually she is in a sleepsuit with feet or has socks on, so this morning she thought it was pretty awesome to be able to play with her toes and woke me up extra early so I could join in the fun  Emma's starting to make some efforts to crawl. She'll flip herself over and start to drag herself towards and up me when she's sitting on the couch and wants to feed. She'll do the same if she sees the TV remote too :haha:

Aimee- I hope you feel better :hugs: I hear ya about a baby not being a hobby, lol :) I recently started to learn to crochet and learn to knit better and hubby said, "that's great- you needed a hobby"- um, gee thanks?! I'm sure he meant it in a nice way, but it somehow didn't come out right- I think it just makes him feel better about taking time on his hobbies. I'm sewing a skirt for Emma atm too and it's supposed to be a 24 mth size- a little on the big side but if I get sidetracked, it should still fit for a while :) Seems like the only time I can sew is when hubby is out for the afternoon with Emma.

Kte- happy belated 6 mths to Chloe!!

Chaos- Happy belated 7 mths to Autumn!! I had to come off my pill too- they gave me some lovely mood swings too  Still no AF though- I guess once Emma drops some feeds she'll be back. I'm in no rush though- this uterus is closed for baby business until January :haha:

Hope everyone is having a good day!

ETA- yayyy Monty for finally cutting those pesky teeth :happydance:

Colsy not only is BF not a contraceptive, near is the pill im on :haha: I think my body has been reacting to it and its not worked (ive had dodgy feeling tum on and off since I have been on it

I do the baby massage class at the moment at the new mills centre, i'm tempted by the walks they also have sensory groups that day too which sound good.

Ive popped into 1st tri but i'm quite comfy here, so i'll mainly be sticking with all you lovely ladiers. Now the shocks wearing off i'm just hoping for lots of sticky vibes for this little one.

Maffie - blimey, obviously meant to be lol. I'm on the same pill I was on prior to Earl and I'm still really naff with it so I'm surprised I've not been caught out (had to take a couple of tests in the last couple of months lol). I'm so pleased for you hun, I hope that dodgy tummy doesn't turn into yet more MS!

My cold is naff and I think Earl is catching up with me on the runny nose front, although his spirits are staying painfully high (for me obviously, not for him lol). Hubby has been looking after me this afternoon (daiylea on toast whenever I want lol) and h's now making us a texan pie for tea with last nights leftover chilli.

Best be off....Earl is trying to steal the laptop of me! He's incredibly hyper today....naps have been a nightmare to the point where I actually gave up on his afternoon one and he had 10 mins curled up with hubby on the sofa instead. He's currently practicing his 'I will crawl soon' stance on the floor. Madness that these babies are getting so mobile.

Hope your cold clears quick Aimee, it's weird i've felt well tired for days and I haven't been this tired (bar newborn territory) since I was pregnant with Noah. Im on the same pill I fell with Noah but I had had a bout of illness and can pin point that conception. Last month we only did it twice (sorry tmi) so I know exactley the day we did it and now I wasn't poorly and had taken all the pills.

I think OH will end up getting snipped ya know  I always wanted 4 but I dont think he'll cope with that many.

Im starting to get excited, but trying to contain myself.

Wow!!! Congrats Maffie! Oh I'm so excited for you :) Sending lots of sticky vibes and PMA regards having a good pregnancy this time. My sister was uber sick with her first and absolutely sailed through her 2nd pregnancy. Massive :hugs:

wow, congratulations Sam!!!! :hugs: I always wondered who'd be the 1st bumpkin to get 're-pregnant', lol. Is it wrong that I'm feelingn a tad jealous???!!! hehehe- as my H would say, i would have to actually have sex to get pregnant again! (did it wedding night, and man it hurt. did nayone else find that when they 1st did it again?)

congrats on developmental milestones to everyone & alos for those cutting teeth. :happydance:

We had a great time at DiveFest in Cornwall (Pentewan Sands) though the weather was a bit crappy n rainy so I didn't get to do much hiking, beach sitting, BBQing etc, but I took harry swimming everyday & he went in the ballpit in the play area too, but he kept trying to eat the balls & was slobbering everywhere

Tonight is Harry's 1st night (at last) in his own room (now that we finally finished ythe decorating in there) so I really hope he'll be ok. I've set up my rocking chair, fleece blanket, pillow n touch lamp in there in case it's a long night! :dohh:

LK- how's it al going wityh the new man?

Kte- you feeling any less confuzzled hun?

Helz- Ethan is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning ladies,

How are we all today? My cold is getting worse and worse. I'm doesd up on orange juice and paracetamol but I don't like taking too much as then you don't know when you're getting better - still can't breathe and feeling soooo hot all the time, and lightheaded. Yuck!

Earl has definitely dropped his 2nd night feed again so we're back to just the one bottle overnight with a bigger feed on waking (6oz this morning!!) We're going through a sleepless phase at the moment. He's determined not to sleep so will just lie kicking his feet against the side of his cot for ages lol. I'm trying not to lift him out too much but with me ill, I really don't have the patience so I think I'm giving in too easy lol. Eiter way, we're still taking naps as and when and he slept well last night so I shouldn't really complain.....I think it's just a phase anyway. Hopefully we'll grow out of it soon!

Flora - sounds like Harry enjoyed the break lol. I hope that you had a good time. When I told hubby that you were going he was so jealous. He says that he's going to look into it and see about going next year. I did have to remind him that he may be mid-exams next year but he didn't seem to care lol.

Kte - How are things going hun? Hope you're ok. xx

Nothing else going on - bit boring really. Need to go out this afternoon to drop off my prescriptions and grab a few bits of food.

Btw - does anyone have rodents? I am soooo looking forward to getting to our own house as I've promised myself a new pair of rats, but I'm not sure how good an idea they are. I want Earl to have 'pets' early on to understand how animals aree a part of the family etc. But they would be mine really lol. (the last pair we had were killed by MIL's dog 3 years ago and we've never replaced in case the same thing happened, but grommit is now 14 and blind and deaf so highly unlikely).

Anyhoo's - best be off. We both need to get dressed for the day, then i'mjob hunting and have a bathroom to clean.....exciting you know! lol

Morning all,

I'm okay ladies thanks, some days are better than others. I'm not looking to invigilation time today as gives me a bit too much time to sit and think!

I'm really please for you Maffie and wish you lots of sticky vibes :flower:

I think I am the only one in here though who doesn't want another! Even if my circumstances were 'better' I would feel the same.

Aimee: - hope you feel better soon :flower: Good on you for telling your OH about the laptop and I am glad you got a nice evening together in the end. I have such a love hate relationship with technology.

No rodents, I used to work at a Pet store and ended up with my house and garden being overtaken by rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters of all varieties, fish, a toad, crustacians (well crabs but that always sounds wrong!) mice etc etc . . . Just sticking to the cats for now!

Flora_ How did Harry's first night go?

I really should put Chloe in her own room now . . . 1 more week I think this week as when she was ill she ended up back in the moses basket. So it's upgrade to travel cot again then into her own room! Don't really want to be alone in my own room but it's not good for her really and I need to do what is best for her.

She keeps on waking every 2hrs at night! Hungry too, takes up to 4oz max then again 2hrs later wants more. Thinking it may be a growth spurt? They are giving her breakfast at nursery this week, wonder how that will turn out.

Hey everyone not posted in ages but ive been lurking and reading posts.

Maffie - congrats!!!!

All is well with us, Sam is 7 months today OH took him to get weighed and he's 21lb 9oz :) I was worrying he wasnt continuing on his "Normal" line as he only has 2 bottles a day but eats lots of food. So pleased with that. No teeth yet though, they've been threatening to come through since he was about 10 weeks old bless him. He's almost crawling he just needs to figure out how to get it all working together lol

Flora - good on you for doing it cos i still havent, just really dont feel like it at all.

I am so busy at the moment, working full time then coming straight home, oh goes to work so i have chloe and sam and im also studying an access course in midwifery via distance learning; hopefully all being well i can go to university sept 2011 to do my degree in midwifery, never thought at 32 id be starting uni lol

Morning' Girls!!

Aimee ~ Oh! I used to keep rats. I had 6 boys at one point. 2 is good as they are social animals. I prefer boys because they are slightly bigger and more friendly, the only downside to this is they pee .. all the time. It's how they identify where they have been. I mean, it don't soak you, its like little drops, but it's something to consider. You also have to clean the boys out more than the girls because they produce an oil on their skin "Buck grease" and it can get stinky.
Females are smaller, but faster .. you do get the friendly ones that just like to be held, but mostly they are more active. They don't do the 'pee everywhere' thing, and you can clean them out once a week as they don't get stinky. I actually got a little corner tray and trained mine to poop/pee in one place so I had to only empty that every couple days. (you put a bit of litter on there and place bits of their poop in there, they get the idea after a while)
No glass tanks as it traps ammonia in the take and can make them sick, They are very suseptable to repository illness, If you ever notice a red discharge from their nose and they snuffle, its safe to say they are sick. Cage needs to be solid bottomed, but caged sides (like a birdcage iykwim?)
I'd really love to have rats again, how ever I found them a lot of work when I lived by my self, so gawd knows what it'd be like with a baby, but then like I said the boys require a lot more cleaning as they are dirty lil gits.
As long as they are handled a lot they will stay very tame.
Maybe you could rescue a pair of adults. There are so many rescue ones that need good homes! If you get some you have to post lots of pics, then that can curb my want for some a little haha.

Hope you start to feel better soon!!

Kaites ~ LOL! You made me laugh re uterus comment.

Maffie ~ I think it might be time to change pills after this baby is born lol. Did you take it at the same time every day? Maybe that particular one just don't work on your body? Have you told your family yet? (I notice no announcement on FB!)

Flora ~ How did Harrys first night in his room go?

Jo ~ wow 21lbs! Healthy boy

Ok off to lay on the sofa and watch telly whilst lil miss-get-her-mum-up-at-5.45 plays on the floor. :coffee:

Chaos - Our 2 boys (Huey and Lewis ) were brilliant. They were only young when they were taken (I was so upset and as hubby proposed the next day I always think of them) as we got them from the pet shop in the Feb and they were killed in the July. They were huge though - going to trawl and see if I can find a piccy. You're right, they were smelly but we cleaned them out completely once a week with a change of bedding every 2-3 days and they never got too bad. We also only let them on 1 piece of furniture so it didn't get everywhere. I'd never had hamsters or anything but hubby convinced me I'd love them and I did, so much! The same pet shop has a rescue centre and I'm so tempted as you just pay the same as the new ones but the problem with that is that while we have all the kit from the rat-boys, when we got them they had terrible skin mites on their ears (which needed 3 doses of anti-biotics) and they both had a respitory problem which they had picked up as babies and would never go away (really cute as they sneezed a lot but not nice for them) - all because they were bought from this particular shop. Luckily, I'm a responsible owner, I can imagine someone else wouldn't have got them treated - after all they're only rats. But they're gorgeous. I'm always recommending them to people, and even though they weren't the tamest (after all they were only 10 months old tops) they would still happily sit on your shoulder and take treats from you, and they would also respond to their names and go back to the cage when asked. I really miss them - they are hard work though and this is what worries me.

Anyway, I'll be quiet about rats now. I just think they're brilliant lol

Rats actually always have skin mites, just normally when they are well, they just have a few. When they get sick and their immune system is down, it allows the mites to take over and thats when the skin problems show up, so you'll never ever get rid of all the mites.
Its the same with the breathing sickness .. it's called Mycoplasma .. it actually lives in the nasal passage in most rats .. most have no problems, but again when the immune system gets low, or they are kept in glass cages it rears its ugly head. I spent 500 quid trying to help one of mine. Had to have him pts after 2 years. Was SO sad .. he was like a little dog. He'd sleep on my lap for hours and came when I called him.

Its so sad they only live for about 3 years. It makes me mad over here cause you can feed live animals to snakes and people sell 'feeder rats' at the pet shop, then people buy them, take them home and breed them and feed the rat pups to the snakes, live. GRR. Dunno how anyone can do that .. more so when snakes will take dead rats if warmed.

Blah.

Im not announcing on FB chaos until after 12 week scan lol, not quite ready to tell the family, also have loads of work colleagues on there :haha: off to docs tomorrow to see if i need to go back on the blood thinning injections, also did more tests today just to make sure. OH wondered if something could be giving false positives

Harry's 1st night in his own room went really well- it took ove an hour to get him settled in the cotbed, but once he was, he sleptr through from 10pm-3:34am, then fed for 20mins, then fell right back to sleep no problems & slept through again till 7:55am, when I put him back in with me coz i was still tiredn& he fell back to sleep on me till just before 10am. Hopefully he will carry non in good form!

Jo- Harry hasn't got any teeth yet either- he keeps getting pointy lumps, but then they disappear again. Also, glad i'm not the only one with no sex drive!!!!!!!

Jo - Still no teeth here yet. Not even a pointy lump :nope: and we've had a couple of really bad sessions of teething now. I had hoped that we would get at least one from the last bout as it went on for about a week! 2 bottles a day, must be so easy! lol (I'm sure keeping on top of the food is harder - Earl eats like a pig at times!) Earl is on 3 meals a day and still wants 6 bottles a day of 6oz! I have no idea where on earth he is putting it all

Aww they're all getting so big now. I'm just in hysterics watching Earl rolling. He can roll all day to his left, but to his right.....nope! :nope: He gets so frustrated. I think if he learns that then he'll start rolling to get to places. For saying he took so long to master this skill, he's making the most of it now!
