Colsy, are the nct groups on their website? I like the classes at surestart the baby massage was great but just felt like some of the other groups were a little cliquey (sp) I just dont feel like I fit in. I do what feels est for me and Noah and I sometimes thing I go against the grain with things. I mean I know lots of people think im strange as I dont drive and I used to cycle commute.
Hope you feel better soon Colsy and Monty settles down to getting some sleep.

Flora I ended up leaving my last job partkly due to difficult shift patterns. I only worked unsocialable hours usually 6pm to 6am or 6pm to midnight and there were no bses and I got mugged once and just couldnt hack it. The job ive taken now is standard ish hours although rubbish wage

Kaites i'm feeling much better thanks, relieved baby is fine (still early days though I thought the worry would wear off with number 2)

Wow busy in here today girls! Sorry to the girls who are having a hard time with sleep. I fall to pieces now when James has a bad night. I guess the downside to having a baby who normally sleeps through. But Flora thats alot to have to wake up. Hopefully he will sleep a bit better tonight.

Maffie - sorry to hear you've been having a rough time and glad to hear everything is ok now. Sending lots of PMA and sticky dust your way. And I don't think you ever lose the worry. I know I will worry next time too.

Is anyone else ridiculously broody right now?! I don't even know where it's come from. The last week or so my mind keeps wandering and thinking how much I miss being pregnant and how much I would love another. But the thought of actually being pregnant again and giving birth terrifies me. So I'm not too worried right now lol. The implant is staying firmly where it is.

Work is going well. On induction most of this week which is a bit boring. But enjoying it none the less. James is still not quite crawling but trying very hard. Tried him with a carrot the other day and he was very unimpressed and just kept throwing it lol. I don't think he liked the slippery texture. Any ideas for ways to get him more used to lumps and finger foods? He will eat rusks but any lumps in food he spits out

LK have you tried baked sweet potato, I cut it into big chunks but Noah picks it up and squashes it a bit. It's quite sweet too so a good starter veg.

YES!! In fact, we're trying again :) Way I figure it, lil miss (if I get pregnant in the next couple months) will be 17/18 months by the time the next is born. They will both be coming out of nappies at a similar time and then I never have to be fat and waddly again! :)

just checked the NCT website- if you search events & put in your postcode, it comes ip with everything that's going on in your area. I'm between 2 areas, but there is a baby & mum group for bumps & babies in town on a weds morning that's only a 20min busride away, so i might check that out next week. It's £1.50 a session & you get a cuppa n some biscuits at least, hehe. thanks for the suggestion there Colsy :) :) :) :hugs:

I've been broody for a couple of months now, and I'm not on any birth control, but we've only had sex once, lol, so i dont think that counts as TTC, but if it happened, we would be thrilled... bank balance wouldnt be though! We had planned on trying for another Jan 2011 anyway. :)

Ive just emailed my nearest NCT its only a bus ride away so hopefully will be worth a try. Non in my little town but one in the next :)

Kaites - I'd be bothered about FB pictures but mainly because I have my privacy setting to friends only so if someone else put pictures of her on there goodness knows who would get to see her! My parents have FB but don't go on it much or post pictures and FIL is not that computer literate and MIL wouldn't have a clue so I am lucky in the respect! However, I totally know how annoying it is when you are left out of pictures, on the fireplace mantel at their house there are pictures of Chloe and OH; we have even given her pictures of me and Chloe together and not one has been put up!! Makes the blood boil!

Maffie: I think I would worry more as I didn't realise the half of it until I actually got pregnant! :hugs:

LK: Pregnancy wise, I just keep thinking this time last year . . . kind of thing, but I just kind of cherish that. I was reading a post on here in baby forum and people were saying what they regretted when they were pregnant etc and I realised I was very lucky because I was proud of my pregnancy and had no regrets. The though of giving birth . . .well its weird as I was thinking, yes I have given birth but I still don't know what it actually feels like  Nij's cousin had a c-section and she was saying to me 'yeah but she came out the 'proper way' so you would have still felt that' and I just thought . . . no I felt every man and his dog tugging away with those forceps, it was all numb tuggs, I have no clue what was CHloe and what wasn't! Weird huh. :haha:

Chaos: Good luck TTC :flower:

Flora: Good luck when you start TTC too :flower:

Maffie- That must have been frightening yesterday but I'm glad to hear all is well now :hugs: I imagine going through a complicated pregnancy last time would make you pretty anxious about this one- hopefully this was just a little blip and it'll be smooth sailing from here!

Chaos- good luck with the ttc'ing :) I laughed at your fat and waddly comment :haha: Good point though :)

Flora- we're playing with the idea of Jan 2011 too :)

Kte- I have all my FB privacy settings to friends only too and I think that is part of why it bothers me. One of the pictures was of Emma with BIL, and Emma is trying to swipe BIL's bottle of beer from him- it was kinda funny amongst family, but it's not something I really want shared with strangers, iykwim. MIL is so clueless with the computer/internet that I'm sure she didn't set her privacy to "friends only" either. That's a cute new avatar of Chloe- sweet smile :)

Well, all that talk about classes, etc., I went looking for a baby signing class in my area and I found one that starts in June within walking distance so I signed us up. It's only one month long and works well with naptimes, so we'll give it a go

Wow you ladies have been busy chatting hehe!!

I thought I would pop on here to day that Theo has his first tooth come through today :happydance: its a tiny little sharp dot on his bottom gum...hes been biting my finger, it hurt :haha:!

Had a busy few days, i'm absolutely pooped!!
Monday I went out to TGI Fridays for my cousins 21st..yum yum yum! I have since decided I need to go on a serious diet though, pictures were taken and they are awful, made me cry ....I look so fat! Determined to loose the weight though, so far so good today...have started a journal on here!

Tuesday, Grace was at the childminders and it was just me and Theo...went for a scan to check my coil is where it should be in the morning, all was well and they still don't know what is causing me to be so uncomfortable, have been told to give it another 3 months then go see them again *sigh*!

Today I have absolutely gutted my house this morning, cleaned everywhere while both kids were napping! Went out with my friend in the afternoon for a huge long walk then my best friend came over and my mum too! Made tea for everyone & had a nice natter! My friend has only just left!

I'm actually knackered, going off to bed soon with a cup of tea and a film I think!! :coffee:

Tomorrow Grace is at the child minders and Theo is joining her for a settling in session, hes already been a few times but only for an hour or so, so he is going for the full day tomorrow...eeek!
Sooo i'm off to have my hair done in the morning then a consultation for laser eye surgery in the afterrnoon! Looking forward to that, would be fab if I could finally say bye bye to glasses and contacts lenses!!

:hugs: to those who are having sleep problems at the moment!
And well just :hugs: for everyone, hope your all well...will catch up with the posts tomorrow evening hopefully!!

Better go, need to get all kinds of bags ready for tomorrow for the kids and myself!!

Night all
x

Morning all, well Noah woke a few times in the night (think its teething) but he still seems happen and bright this morning.

Sounds like you had a busy day Mellie, hope you enjoy getting your hair done.

yay, Harry only woke up 3 times in the night! :happydance: He went to sleep at 9pm, then woke at 12:30am, 4:30am & 8:30am. Soooooooo much better than the night before. I'm wondering if maybe I need to offer him more solids at his evening meal & maybe that will help him sleep a bit longer?

I got bored thismorning & grated some mango & pear into his boring old porridge & it went down an absolute treat & he was all excited between each spoonful. He ended up with a spoon in each hand, sukcing them alternatly & saying 'bababababa getting it blimming everywhere, lol. So cute.

What's everyone up to this weekend? OH has it off, so we're gonna get the spare room finished painting (it's had 2 coats, but needs a 3rd & the ceiling needs doing too, then need to put skirting boards on) & sort the damn garden out, which looks a state coz I never got round to mowing it & it's nearly a foot high now- the neighbours will think we're scrubbers at this rate!)

Oh what a great idea! I normally stir a bit of fruit mush in Autumns. I actually read somewhere that if you're scared about giving proper finger foods to start cause of choking, to grate things and give it to them until they get the hang of chewing!

Back to the fricking in-laws this weekend, need to get some paperwork off them for my visa renewal. Then one of Autumns lil friends has a birthday party on Sunday.

I put stewed apples or pears in Noah's porridge

Chaos if you are married to an American do you have to get a visa?

Not sure what we are doing this weekend, think I might get one of my bikes cleaned up and sold.

Yup. I have a 2 year green card right now that has to be renewed by August .. I have to file 90 days before that date and that will give me a 10 year green card. After I think, it's 7 years in the country I can take the test to be a citizen. (So will have duel with England, Autumn has automatic duel citizenship, I just gotta get her English passport which is about 500 quid!)

Afternoon ladies,

How are we all?

I have been using the free Hipp Organic breakfast porridge with mango in, smells yummy anyhow! Prob need to make a new batch of food up for Chloe but more likely next week as I still have enough in the freezer.

Nij came to meet me for lunch today which was nice but we walked around town a lot and I have cystitus (I think, off to the docs tomorrow), boy was I in agony when I got back into work. I got some stuff to mix with water but felt okay-ish this morning so didn't take any - BIG mistake! Taken some now and not going to move my ass off this chair for another 2 hours.

Weekend wise, dunno really. No plans as such at the moment.

chaos, i was gonna ask if autumn was gonna have dual citizinship or not, but you already put it, lol. my step bro n sis have dual nationalities with british & lebanese :)

:hugs: kte. hope it clears soon. i had it once at uni n was like arrrrghhhh! my ex thought it was hilarious, the dick.

Thankfully nevcer had cystitis but ive heard its horrid :hugs: Kte

Gosh i'm tired today, i've tried to convince Noah to have a nap but its not happening  OH at work tonight so im going to be lazy and order take away. Ive not ordered the shopping this week (we tend to do a big shop fortnightly) but ive been a bit distracted.

That seems alot of money for Autumns passport Chaos.

Howdy!

Hope everyone is well :) Emma's having a nap now and I'm chilling with another coffee before a busy afternoon. Hubby has taken to leaving our car at work and just bringing home the work van in the evening so I'm completely car-less these days so it's an afternoon of trekking to the grocery store since it's supposed to rain tomorrow. It's a few miles round trip- days like these, I wish we still lived downtown where everything was closer.

Mellie- yay Theo- congrats on the tooth :) Hope the laser eye consultation goes well. I was planning on doing that too but then got pregnant and there always seems to be something else to spend the money on ever since. Eventually... I suppose in the long run it would be less expensive than glasses/contacts- just a big upfront expense.

Flora- I think Harry and Emma are coordinating their sleeping patterns, lol :) Emma only woke a couple times too. Hubby finally has a weekend off :happydance: I think BIL is coming over on Saturday night and on Sunday we're heading over to my parents since it's my dad's birthday and my aunt and uncle are visiting from out of town. Have fun painting the house. I still have to mow the lawn too  Maybe this afternoon...

Chaos- Ouch that's a pricey passport! It's nice that Autumn is able to have dual citizenship though. We're in the process of getting Emma's passport done- we only live about an hour from the US border and my mum and I like to do girls weekends away outlet shopping but haven't been able to lately since Emma needs a passport- not that I have extra cash for shopping trips these days- but it'll be nice to have the option of travelling again.

Kte- Hope you are feeling better :hugs: Cystitis sucks! I found drinking cranberry juice helped a little.

Maffie- enjoy the takeaway :) You definitely deserve a night of putting your feet up and relaxing after the week you've had!

Good evening everyone,

Just popping in before the marathon packing session commences! I'm about 1/3 of the way there, which is way behind schedule but I have got all the luggage done so at least I don't ahve to worry about finding clean pants at 6am tomorrow! lol

Kte - Ooh you poor love! I've had cystitis loads of times (I had it during pregnancy too). As Kaites said, cranberry juice nad buckets of it. I was recommended to drink 2 parts cranberry to 1 part water to flush out the system....it doesn't dilute so I would just have 1 glass of water followed by 2 of juice. I hope it clears up soon. The Dr's will most likely give you low level antibiotics but keep up the fluids as they help. :hugs:

Congrat to everyone about who's getting teeth....we're still waiting on the blighters although a very nice looking ridge has appeared on the bottom gum. Blooming would happen as we're staying away from home so he'll be fractious as it is :dohh: Never mind.

We're away at MIL's at the weekend. Taking a van of stuff down (finally) lol and staying for 2 nights. Earl's step-great-grandparents will be there on Sunday and we're really looking forward to him meeting them. They're been so lovely since he was born and so generous (I've been a little embarrassed actually) so it'll be nice to say thankyou in person.

Earl is waking twice again for feeds....taking 14oz overnight at the moment . He's also eating a shed load at tea time each night (thread in weaning about it) and i doesn't help apart from make him take less at his bedtime bottle (didn't take any at all tonight but we'll see what happens). He was out like a light though so I know he was ready for his bed

Anyway, 10 more mins and I need to de-spider my boxes (I love my vaccuum! lol) and get packing - wish me luck and have a good weekend everyone. We're leaving at about midday but have a load of errands before that so wont be on.
