He's alot better thanks Kaites, however, I gave him a bottle the other night at 2am & he seems to have taken it up full time , tried everything I could to not give him it last night, but had to give in at 3am, then he was up again at 6:30am...booooh! Think he could possibly be having another growth spurt though, so just playing it by ear for now!

Q for you all: New child minder wants me to bring Theo's food for him, I don't know what to do?! I normally give him jars  but I don't want to seem like a 'lazy' parent....would you make the dinners from scratch to send there, or would you just send the jars?
Tbh I haven't really got the time to be making dinners up from scratch...is there anything easyish that you can think of what I could make, & in big batches too? thanks!

Maffie - Glad the scan went well, have they moved your dates back or foreward? How many weeks they estimated you at?

Colsy - Sorry you've had a crappy week :hugs:

Flora - Hope the spider has disappeared now :haha: bless you! Hope you managed to get all done that you wanted too!

Chaos - Gorgeous picture! :cloud9: I love babies peggies!

They said 9ish which would mean immaculate conception or I didnt ovulate for 3 and half week or oh's sperm lived for 15 odd days. Noah measured small at 8 weeks then suddenly caught up a few days so im guessing this will be the same but now ive had dates of 1.1.11 5.1.11 and 10.1.11 confused  next scan 6th July to get a definite date.

Mellie, I'd probably just bring the jars if that's what you usually use  Who cares if she thinks you're lazy! You're a working mum- surely other mums are doing the same and at the end of the day, I bet you'd rather spend the time with Theo and Grace than with a blender :)

Maffie- it must have been "super sperm"- it did get you preggers while on the pill both times  Seriously though, it sounds like you are pretty sure of the dates- enjoy getting the extra scan :)

So lil miss has been a handful this afternoon, trying to pull herself up on any and everything and attempting to cruise along the step in our sunken livingroom. If she'd only learn how to sit back down, it would be a little easier but she's hauling herself up and then crying for help to get back onto the floor :dohh: I think she's like me though- starts a project and then moves onto the next before finishing the first. She's sort of bum scooting (mostly still going in circles), can get into a crawling position but doesn't actually crawl and now has decided to try cruising before she can really stand for any extended period on her own. I really thought this developmental spurt would be a little more linear, mastering one skill before moving onto the next but I guess Emma has other plans

wow, loving all the developments everyone's babies are showing  Harry is still going backwards on his tummy & caterpillars his way forwards, then army crawls (ish) turning round in circles, but nothing that actually resembles a real crawl yet. If I stand him up against something, he'll hold onto it & just stands there bouncing with his mouth open, doing a really good pervy heavy breathing sound :dohh: If I hold his hands when he's laying down, he can yank himself up to standing, and he's figure out how to get from sitting onto his tummy without face planting now, so that's good. On his back, he uses his feet to turn himself round in circles, which is funny- kinda like he's trying to run but layting down- weird to watch.

We hit a jackpot with water tonight. I have this cheap 99p TT beaker, which is meant for older kids as it's just 3 holes & the water comes out really quick. anyway, i gave it to him & he almost choked himself while I was on the phone to my mum & mum suggested melting 2 of the holes shut so it's just one hole left for the water to come out. I was like what???!!! So I got a knife, heated it, then laid it across the 2 outer holes so just the middle one was left, then sterilised it again & gave him to him later on, mainly to play with. And he was sat up, and drank loads, like 2oz I think!!! The rest he poured all over his legs & nappy, lol.

Q: for those of you with boys. Have they found their penis yet? Harry has & in true male style is now fascinated by it- everytime I take his nappy off, his hands are straight down there trying tohave a play :dohh: He got blimmin poo all over his hand today doing it. So gross!

anyway, I'v lost the spider- i can';t find it so in my head, I'm trying to convince myself he doesn't exist & has left the living room!

anyways, bed is calling me.

Oh & Maffie, yay for superspermies hey?!

Er . . . Chloe's hands end up going down there too!

Didn't think I'd ever do it, but we've resorted to controlled crying. Are there ANY Bumpkins at all who have done this and can help me and OH through this horrible, horrible minefield? Please tell me it gets better really quickly and that Monty won't ever remember the nights we left him crying for far too long ... Have put a post re this in Baby Club:https://www.babyandbump.com/baby-cl...g-results-length-intervals-length-crying.html

 at super sperm the obstetrician said I should never of been put back on the same pill that didnt work for me the first time. Makes sense when someone says it outright. They said thats a lazy way to treat a patient stick to what they've had before. I think OH may go for snipping after this one (he'll have 4) Im tempted by a coil.

I told my mum today and she took it really well, better than I ecpected and OH's mum didnt take it as well as I expected

Flora Noah has discovered his bits too  he's also discovered how to remove a disposable nappy :dohh:

It's amazing all these moving babies. Noah has given up on the crawling attemp and just keeps pulling himself to his feet then falling.

Colsy :hugs: we have and still occasionally do CC....off to read your post now and see if I can help at all

Maffie, Glad your mum took it well!

Flora, no exploring of the bits here yet :haha: yuck!!

Well just popped on really to say... Theo is on the move!!! Arghhh lol
For a few weeks he has been going backwards, sidewards, round in circles! This morning there was a dummy across the otherside of the room, he just got up like a pro, and off he went, crawling forwards!!! Have a feeling theres no stopping him now hehe, feeling a very proud mummy this morning :D :D :cloud9:

Off shopping & parcel posting now, then college enrolment later :D

Can someone please inform my daughter that when she gags on a Cheerio and vomits it in a milky slimey mess, that slapping her hand down in the middle of it and attempting to eat it is not an option at 7am with a mother who has a week stomach?!?!?

Colsy ~ Ya, I've done CC. Had to do it when my family went home after getting stuck here with the volcano. Of course lil miss had had so much attention for 3 weeks and thought it was gonna continue. First day was a 58 minute tantrum. It took two weeks of frayed nerves on my end and proper diva tantrums from hers, but we got back to normal. Now she's quite content to play by her self and go to sleep by her self again. It sucks, But the biggest thing is stay strong, because the moment you give in, you've ruined all the hard work you've put in thus far and will be back to square one. (Learned that the hard way!!

Thanks Chaos. Thanks also to Aimee and Mellie for posting on my other thread re this. So, the story is that we started CC on Friday night. Monty went down to bed at bedtime no prob. Then up for a first feed around midnight. We planned for all other wakings to start CC. That first night the CC lasted an hour but then he never woke again. The second night the CC lasted 1.75 hours but then he never woke again. The third nght he woke for one feed and that was that - wahey! But the fourth night, last night, was awful. He cried for almost two hours. Oh god, I felt heartbroken listening to him sob in his own cot in his own room, all on his own and us not there to hold him. It just felt wrong wrong wrong. The only way I got through it was to tell myself it was for the best for all of us, because OH and I need to feel awake and happy in the day in order to look after our son in the best way we can, And also of course if Monty sleeps better at night, then he will also feel happier and healthier in the long run. But god, it's horrible and I soooo want him to start sleeping ASAP so that we can stop this.

But yeah, I understand that consistency is the absolute key. And so that's why I'm so upset about it, because I was desperate to give in but I had to force myself to not go to him, in order to maintain that consistency.

Horrible horrible horrible. :cry::cry::cry:

The really good thing though was that when I went in to him this morning, I was dreading it because I thought he would be all covered in tear stains and have a red puffy face, like we do girls when we've cried all night. I also had this awful feeling he'd be hating me for doing what we did last night. But no :happydance: there he was, arms reaching up for me, smiling away, his face as fresh as a daisy, as if nothing had ever happened. Am I naive in thikning that perhaps, just maybe, a baby's memory ain't that long yet, and so he can't remember the night he just had?

i dont think they remember much from that age... My sister did CC with her 1st born, but didn't need to with her 2nd as he was sleeping through from 8 weeks old & still does. Her 1st born on the other hand, who will be 6 next month is still shockingly crap with sleep, waking many times in the night & always trying to get in her bed. And wakes up at 5:30am every morning no matter what!!! Crazy kid.

Has anyone booked their LOs in at a dentist yet? There's a semi-local denist offering child NHS places, and I;m tempted to get harry registered there, even with no teeth yet... I dont mind paying for me & OH as we've always been private in the past. (£780 in 6 months was what it cost just for me last time coz my teeth went from being perfect to being full of bloody holes in the space of a year!!! Hopefully it'll never be that expensive again!)

So... I emailed my boss last night & said there was a possibility I will be quitting & she said, I understand, but I can't tweak your hours anymore as we all have kids & all have to pay for childcare & try our best to make ends meet... She then said, just remember you have to give 3 months notice as per contract... I'm sure I only have to give 1 month, but oh well. I told her I'll be making my final decision once OH is home from Scotland on weds night... So, by thurs I will know if I'm a SAHM or a working mum, lol. I'm pretty sure I'll be quitting. Tax credits said I only qualify for £84.96 per month for child tax credits & we earn too much for working tax credits, so it really isn't worth going back for £14 a week left from wages, £20 a week in child benefit & £84 a month CTC. I'd rather be with my Harry & be broke. Going for walks on the beach, going to the park, playing in the garden etc, is free & that's good enough for me.

Good afternoon!

Flora- glad to hear the spider packed up and moved out :winkwink: Emma has discovered her girlie bits too and I've had to clean up a poopy hand or two also- disgusting but she thinks it's hilarious  She did it again this morning with one of her nastiest BLW-nappies to date. I'm jealous that you'll probably get to be a SAHM. I'm slowly working through the mound of paperwork needed to be a licensed home daycare provider- with a bit of luck, I'll be home too- even if it's with 5 other rugrats to chase after.

Colsy- no experience with CC here either- I hope it goes quickly, you don't have too many nights like last night and that it isn't too hard on you, Monty and OH :hugs:

Maffie- Glad to hear your Mum took it well :hugs:

Mellie- Way to go Theo!

Well, Emma had another night of waking every 2 hrs  I'm guessing that the change of routine over the weekend has something to do with it. I've been a bit slack with her bedtime routine lately too which probably accounts for a lot of it also- we're still struggling with finding a balance between bedtime and Emma spending time with DH since he's home after 7pm and ideally she should be in bed. Anyone else exhausted at the end of the day from all the "busy baby" stuff? I mean she's not really super mobile yet, but she's constantly getting into stuff or situations where she needs help now. Frustrating for both of us :haha:

Anyway, hope we're all well :hugs: It's only noon, but I better get started on making dinner while Emma's having a nap, lol :)

Kaites: Glad it isn't just Chloe who has done that! She is little miss hands anyway lol. I have seen yo gabba gabba on NickJr. I don't watch these much but kiddies TV is good to pop on to keep Chloe happy in her bouncer when I am sorting her food in the kitchen. I have to say it is also a scary kids tv show but I think only because for some reason there is a guy who lip syncs and it's just not right so his mouth is different to the words lol There is much worse out there! Hope Emma sleeps better tonight :hugs:

Flora: Chloe and I have been booked into a dentist, appointment is on 16th June. I'm a bit naughty as I haven't been to one for over ten years!! My old dentist did a runner and the practice closed down, I moved towns and just never got around to it, thought I should make more effort now Chloe is here. That sucks about work and a 3 month notice, that really sounds a lot, how long have you been with them? It's a bit crappy how she put it too. Sounds like you and Harry will have lots of fun. I am with you on hating spiders, I can't kill them thought, they have to be caught and sent outside but I HATE them! The other week I had two in the kitchen, those ones that have raisin sized bodies, ugh, so I put two glasses over them and got Nij to remove one of them the next day on his visit. The other one I accidentally set free as I kicked the glass over so who knows where that one got too.

Colsy: :hugs: with CC, hope Monty settles better soon so your not as stressed with it, well done for keeping at it though.

Maffie: Sorry to hear your scan was just as confusing, at least you get another one now :D

Mellie: I keep forgetting to say, good luck with the laser surgery! Your brave, I would love it but too scared so contacts for me!

Chaos: Congrats for Autumns new tooth! Er, not nice about eating

Thanks for the drink and tooth advice all :flower: Seems like drink wise I am the same as most, I thought I was a bit behind. Mixed advice about tooth brushing so I'll give them a brush without paste until I see what the dentist says.

Chloe gammy eyes at the mo so got some eye drops from the doc and she is off nursery for the next three days. Poor little baby, she is all snotty, all puffy and her eyes just ooze goo.

She slept a little better last night, still a few wakings but she didn't really have a night feed, I offered her it and she just wasn't interested. I think she woke more out of teething. SHe seems worse tonight though, keeps crying, I sort her out and off she goes again, then as soon as it starts it stops :nope:

Sorry if I missed anyone :hugs:

Evening girls. Sorry I seem to be a bit crap atm but tday I worked 9-2 and then 4-8 so left the house at 8am and got home at 9.10pm :( So so tired and my head is killing me....and typically James has decided he doesn't want to go to bed  When I picked him up he grinned from ear to ear and was signing 'milk' although I think it was more 'Mum where the hell have you been?! You're normally home before now! I want you....take me from nanny this instant!' Lol. He's sat with his Uncle 'Bubbus' (nickname cos my niece couldn't pronounce Marcus lol) watching 2 and a half men while I try not to collapse in a little heap on the floor.

Colsy - I do a relaxed version of CC. I don't time it but I just consistently go in, lay him back down, put his dummy in and leave again. He soon drops off (unfortunately not working tonight!).

Can't remember who asked but James has found his penis too lol. He finds it fascinating and always grabs it as soon as the nappy is off. Luckily no poo on his hands yet!

Flora: Kaites post just made me think, would you not consider childminding? Fab way of staying at home and making money too! I'd love to do it myself but we have the smallest house ever, deff considering it when we move though I think!

LK: Hope James goes to sleep soon and you get some sleep :flower:

KTE: Mmmm, I am abit scared I guess, but few people I know have had it done, soo that makes me feel a little better, plus I can't wait to get rid of wearing glasses and contact lenses!!
Hope Chloe's eyes clear up soon :hugs: poor thing!

Kaites: Hope when you reinforce bedtime routine Emma will sleep better for you! I know what you mean about the tiredness, although I have two  and also stay up till stupid o'clock on here :haha: just plodding along!! I could soo do with a nice pamper and a full nights sleep, that would be heaven!!

Well I am now officially a student :happydance: been to enrol at college tonight, armed with a student card, yay! Discount on everything, looking forward to that lol!

Got Theo weighed today, he is now 19lb 9oz....hes put on 9oz in 7 weeks?! HV said thats fine because hes wriggling around more and burning calories etc....doesnt sound much to me though! Anyone elses LOs weight slowed down?

x

my 4.5 yr old nephew is the same he's up till all hours at night then in his own bed for a couple of hours then tries to get in my sisters bed, he's getting better though, on the other hand my niece whos 3.5yrs can go bed at 6pm and sleep through till 9am! my sister did the same routine with both of them. now i think he is just used to living on such little sleep that he copes with it.

Colsy :hugs: i hope monty catches on soon that he should go sleep when he's put down at night. we dont do CC but if sam is unsettled and does cry out then i go up, usually have to turn him back over as he's on his front and facing the other way!, put his dummy in give him his bear and walk out again, he ends up dropping off, last night i had to do that 5/6 times before he actually fell asleep. i never talk to him or pick him up, i learnt that from chloe, she soon realised that her crying resulted in me picking her up and would only fall asleep on me, nice and cute when they're tiny babies but not so nice when they're 4+ and still wanting to sleep on mum! i ended up sitting in her room most nights practically forcing her to stay in her bed, that really wasnt nice at all. compared to chloe as a baby im sooo lucky with sam sleepwise and i really do appreciate it!

i am off to open day at uni tomorrow :) its my only real choice to apply to, everywhere else is just too far away. im not expecting much from it but at least at the interview (if i get one!) i can say oh yes i came to the open day!!

Mellie thats one thing that annoys me about the distance learning thing - im not classed as a student! GRRRRRRRRRR I work just as hard - if not harder with the discipline side - as people in college :(

argh- Emma managed to kill my laptop! She likes to reach behind her when BFing and it was on the couch. I dont know what she did but now the keyboard and finger pad dont work! So now im using hubbys work lappy and it has a bloody french keyboard so im missing an apostrophe :dohh:

Kte- hope Chloes eye is better soon! I often put the kiddie shows on in the background for kid friendly noise. I end up singing some pretty annoying theme songs though, lol :)

Mellie- congrats on getting registered for school!

Hope everyone has a good night!
