cake recipe

Does anyone have a recipe they could share for Christmas cake? When should I start making one?

i use this one...i'm not a fruit cake lover but i do like this one..
8oz butter
8oz caster sugar
5 small eggs
10oz plain flour
2oz ground almonds
2oz whole almonds
pinch of salt
1/8th of teaspoon of bread soda dissolved in 1teaspoon milk
grated rind of orange
7oz sultanas
7oz raisins
2oz currants
4oz mixed peel
2oz cherries (chopped)

preheat oven 150C

in a mixer cream the butter and sugar together..add in the eggs..then add the flour..then all the fruit, almonds and bread soda in milk..give this a good stir together to mix in all the fruit..place mixture into lined 8" cake tin and bake for 2 and half to three hours
