Calling all Fur-parents!

I have quite a little herd of my own. I LOVE my furbabies.

This is Sassafras, or Sassy. She's a 9 month old English Bulldog. We adopted her from a family who had a hectic household (lots of other pets and kids) and wanted to rehome her. She's my husbands dog.

Blue is a 2 year old miniature poodle. We purchased him from a breeder in 2011, and he's the biggest cuddle bug in the world. He made me fall in love with the breed.

Wesley is a 6 year old beagle mix. I adopted him from a high kill shelter in 2010. He's a total momma's boy, and very skittish around strangers.

Pickles is my 10 month old DSH cat. She's a priss, a cuddle bug, and SO friendly. She thinks she's one of the dogs, and any time we have company over, she greets them. She also loves my nephew and is wonderful with kids.

Meeko is my one year old guinea pig. He loves to chatter and talk and snuggle up with you.

So many awesome fuzzies! I'm on my phone, so I can't reply to them all right now. But I suddenly feel like my house is empty with just two kitties!

This thread makes me so happy! :happydance: Such cuties!

My little cat isn't well at all  We are taking her to the vets later. I hope it's something treatable, she has been short of breath since the weekend. If it's not treatable I'm going to have to ask them to put her down straight away because sine yesterday she can't even walk up the stairs :nope: and has to sit down in between mouthfuls eating her food...I'm so sad. Poor little Bisto.

Love all the pictures :flower: They have really cheered me up :-)

Awww, she's so pretty. How old is she? Hopefully it is something treatable!

I'm sorry about your kitty, I hope it's something treatable and she pulls through.

OKAY... are you all ready to call me insane????? I have a massive heart for animals and just can't say no... so I am in the process of becoming a 510c3 organization. In the year 2012, I took in 55 kittens. 42 have been adopted out into new homes, a few passed over to the rainbow bridge </3, and I still have 6 waiting to go to their Furever Homes.

But in the process of rescuing I took in a lot of adult kitties that eventually became 'foster failures'.. so meet my bunch (and yes, this is my PERMANENT bunch!!!!)

First is Dillinger, UKC papered APBT. Best friends are the kitties, biggest baby and snuggler ever.

Second is Delilah (pictured with Dillinger), UKC papered APBT. Best friend is Dillinger, gets along great with the kitties- and is my little hellion. She's in her chew chew chew stage. Ugh.

Third is Luna. She's my first kitty outside of my parents home, 4 this year. She keeps to herself and doesn't really like the other kitties. Loves my doggies though!

Fourth is 'Black kitty'. He used to be a tom outside, then we got him neutered and decided to take him with us when he moved. Now he's inside 99.9% of the time.

Fifth is Stella- my gorgeous dilute calico girl. She's almost 3, and stands up on her hind legs when she wants to be pet. Too cute.

Awww Clynn that is amazing you do all that! It must take so much time and I bet you see some heartbreaking stories.

My cat is 16, I'm going to the vets in a minute so I'll let you know how we get on.

xx

Sixth is Hercules. He's my last fur baby. Was the first kitten I ever saw born (took in his stray momma). He will be 1 on April 18th.

Seventh is Onyx. She's such a funny kitty, super vocal and will sit there having a conversation with you. She likes to get in weird things to sleep (i.e. a pot, cupboards, boxes, anything). Her and Stella are littermates.

Eighth is Little Girl. She used to be very paranoid and crazy, but she's calmed down a bunch since we had her spayed and is much more relaxed and loving.

Ninth is Orange Kitty. She would show up at our house every few days for love and attention, we figured she lived somewhere else. Then she didn't show up for about two weeks and we were so worried something happened to her. When she finally did she had a massive eye infection (which had spread to her spinal cord and brain) and was having seizures, rushed her to the Emergency vet at midnight, after 300 and medicine the vet said we've done all we can do and to just wait it out. Now she's a happy healthy girl who sleeps in bed with us every night. Vet estimates her to be 8-10 years old.

Tenth is Muffin. Muffin showed up at our house around 4 months old COMPLETELY FERAL. We could never get near her. She ended up having a litter in my shed (Stella and Onyx came from that litter). We still couldn't catch her, the next year she had ANOTHER litter under a neighbors house. At 8 weeks old she brought that litter through my cat door to me and made her home inside. Since then we were able to catch and spay her, and each day she becomes more trusting. We can actually scratch her booty now!

Annnnd last but not least is BW. (Black and white kitty LOL). He showed up at our house every day for two weeks before we moved for loving and food. We couldn't leave him, so we took him with us to our new place while we attempted to find his owners. No one has came forward.

Oh no MrsPear :nope:, I hope Bisto will be ok  Sweet 16..she has lived a long life and I bet a very happy one with you! :hugs: I hope they will be able to treat her

WOW Clynn! Thank YOU for having such a big heart and the ability to take care of those little critters!

we have had her put down :-( When we got to the vets she was so stressed she couldn't breathe at all, she couldn't even stand up. Soon as we got there I knew we wouldn't be bringing her back.

It's very sad but she was 16 and we only had her 1.5 years so I feel okay. I never really knew the young Bisto, we were like her retirement home. I hope she had a good relax here! My dog is 16 too and we've had her nearly 16 years so that will be a lot lot worse.

Rest in peace Bisto cat.

PS Keep the pictures coming, they are cheering me up. I love all your furkids!!! xxx

Another muted calico like Cleric! Cleric was the first muted calico I had ever seen in my life, and I thought she was sooooo pretty! Stella is beautiful too!

I'm so sorry, MrsPear. RIP Bisto! I'm glad she isn't suffering anymore at least. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

I will post more pictures since you say it cheers you up!

All of you have beautiful furkids!! I love animals, always have, and I have always had at least one in my life.

I have 4 kitties, and a bird. My first kitty is Squiggles. He is my big, fat baby LOL! I also have his sister Fat Cakes, or Cakes for short. The reason her name is Fat Cakes is because when I got them she was so malnourished that all of her body was soooo skinny, but her belly was SUPER round haha! Now her name is Fat Cakes, but she is really thin LOL! Anyhow, I got them both on my oldest daughters birthday in 2010. They were about 4 weeks old, and their mother had been hit by a car. They were covered in dirt, fleas, and were soooo skinny. If they had been out there one more day, the vet said they would not have made it.

Here they are as kittens. Squiggles is the white kitten, and Fat Cakes is the white and cream.

Here is Squiggles with a milk beard LOL!

Here they are about a year ago laying in some laundry:

And Squiggles around that same time, going through his "teenage" years, looking all odd shaped LOL:

Squiggles chillin out (He always does this):

Fat Cakes a year ago. She is tiny in this, and still tiny to this very day:

Squiggles looking handsome. He has the biggest blue eyes, and his points are a very BRIGHT orange. I have never seen a kitty like it:

And lastly, Squiggles earlier tonight! LOL! He is so super fat now haha!

I will do another post right after this one because I have more, but this post already has too many pics haha!

Okay, I also have 2 orphaned kittens that I am raising right now that were abandoned by their mother. They were born 12-12-12, so they are now 3 weeks old. They are such sweet kitties, and as of right now it is looking like they are both little boys! I get up to feed them every 3 hours, so it is pretty tiring, but worth every second. They seem to be doing really well, and are gaining weight just fine! They sleep in a laundry basket next to my bed, and have a blanket in there, with a heating pad under it. They still aren't old enough to regulate their own body temp. They are walking now, but are very wobbly. I haven't named them yet, but my husband wants to name the little grey one Sammy. I think I am going to keep these little boys, I am too attached to let them go!

The other little kitten. It has such a cute face, and even looks like it has freckles! LOL

And I thought this pic is soooo funny! It needs to be captioned LOL!!

https://i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j342/Amber_McCall/kitties/Kittens031_zps8544c598.jpg

The kittens are wet in a few of these pics and that is bc I take a wet cotton ball and give them a "bath" with it, like their mommy would do :)

Last is Kiwi, my Quaker Parrot. I hand fed her also! She talks A LOT! She loves to play, and say peek a boo, hi kiwi, whatcha doin, tickle tickle, hi kiwi bird, hi barnaby (an umbrella cockatoo I fostered), among many other things!

Thanks for looking at my furry/feathered babies!

And I suppose now that he's back I really oughta include my "step-Fur Baby"

This is Maple, my OH's Ex's little dog that they "share custody of" :dohh:

Frustrating for me because the ex doesn't EVER discipline the dog, and due to the shared custody there's NO consistency so every time we have him, he "arrives" the most poorly behaved creature imaginable, and by the time he goes home he's well behaved again lol

Poor little guy is lonely though, OH's other dog & Maple's best buddy "Ringle" passed away a couple months ago from cancer & old age. Shortly after that was when we got my fur babies the cats, and they have figured out that Maple is smaller than they are, doesn't chase them at all (thankfully) and that he is one, whereas they are two...and a couple nights ago OH woke up to find the two of them had cornered his poor dog and were terrorizing him. (Luckily not a common occurrence, he's been gone for over a month and prior to that they were still really new and fresh and unsure, so they're all just establishing boundaries I think)
