You only want one photo.....I don't know if I can choose lol!!

I'll post next time I'm on my laptop.

I have a wonderful fur baby called milo he is a 1 year and 1 month old patterdale terrier he is such a wonderful boy he can be so naughty but i love him to death he is brilliant and so lazy he has slept all night last night from around 10pm then all day today till 2pm and he is now asleep on the sofa lol

Haha, that describes many dogs. "Brilliant but lazy." :haha:

They're so sweet though. I still have dreams about both of mine, even though they passed away years ago.

We have a dog named Bailey and three chickens. Featherbabies, maybe?

Thanks! He's a pretty happy dog. The chickens - well, it's hard to tell. But they seem pretty happy most of the time.

I agree that insurance is definitely a smart thing. My aunt has 3 Saint Bernards and those dogs this past summer along have cost her SO much money in vet bills. She lives out in the country and they're outdoors most of the time so they get into all kinds of things. Her male got a stick stuck through the skin/fat of his stomach and then her other two got quilled really bad by a porcupine. A couple years ago my dog got attacked by another dog pretty bad...she had 2 puncture holes in her throat and a HUGE tear in her neck that went right through the muscle and we didn't have insurance...luckily we had money set aside for moving but had we not we would have been screwed.

We adopted a puppy from the pound about five years ago that ended up having parvo. He lived, but at the cost of $2000. We got insurance for him after that, and it was nice. He went to live on the farm my MIL had at the time.

Unfortunately, pet insurance does nothing when your dog gets killed by a car.

So I'm looking at pet insurance (I'm in the US) and it says choose your deductable? and the lower your deductable is the more you pay per month....can anyone explain this to me?

Basically the deductible is what you pay out of your pocket, so the less you're willing to pay yourself, the more your insurance will have to pay, therefore charging you more per month. For example, if your deductible is $500 and your dog needs surgery that costs $2000, then you pay the $500 and your insurance pays the remaining $1500. However if your deductible is $1000 then the insurance will only have to pay $1000 and thus charge you less per month. So the more you're willing to pay yourself, the less the insurance has to pay, and the lower your monthly rate will be.

I hope I explained that well enough.

Makes sense! Thank-you :D I had animals almost all my life and ever since I got married I feel lonely because it's been almost 5 years since I last had a pet :( OH doesnt understand my love for animals but I feel so lonely with out one!

I understand Hotbump! When I first moved to Hawaii I couldn't bring my two cats right away because of the quaratine laws and I was having pet withdrawals! lol I ended up trying to foster...but that didn't work out, too emotional. I eventually ended up with another cat! So now I have 3!

I have had so far
countless of fishes
2 baby iguanas
1 ginuea pig (sp?)
1 hamster
3 cats
8 birds (2 were hand raised by me)
1 duck (raised him since he was 4 days old)
6 chickens
7 dogs
1 bunny
During my 17 years (yeah I got married really young, I was only 17) My favorite was my poodle named Coco....I loved him soo much but sadly he was killed by some vicious dogs who's owner let them out for a "walk"

So sorry to hear about Coco. We used to have two black labs when I was very young that would follow my mom out on her jogs. She would jog passed this farm that had cows, and the labs would chase the cows. They never touched them or anything, they would just play. And only for a few minutes, so it's not like they were viciously attacking the cows for hours. Well, the farmer decided he didn't like the dogs chasing his cows, so instead of flagging down my mom on her morning jog and telling her to keep the dogs at home when she went for her run, one day the dogs just didn't come home. My parents searched and searched for the dogs, and ended up finding them dead from poison tied up in garbage bags in the ditch in front of the farmer's house by the road.

The cows were gone and so was all his stuff, so we're guessing that he wanted to take a parting shot at us as he was moving away. I wish we'd been able to find him and have him sent to jail for animal cruelty.

As it was, I was so young that my parents just told me the dogs had run away. I remember being about three or four, standing at the door asking when the dogs would come home. They didn't tell me what really happened til years later.

:hugs: GingerPanda

I still cry when I talk about my Coco and it's been 6 years since he passed away...My mom also had a hard time when she found out what happened.

I remember it was around 8pm and we got a call from my sister that they had found Coco dead (he was missing for 3 days already) and my mom bursted out crying. My sister kept telling her that it was okay and that they would buy her another dog but my mom kept saying "No, no! I want my Coco....I dont want another dog, I want my Coco back!" I had never seen my mom get so upset over the loss of a pet. I still get nightmares of that day. I also want my Coco back
