Yay, a pet thread!

This is Ziggie, our 4.5 year old Weimaraner. We found him on petfinder when he was 14 weeks old and drove 4 hours through a snow storm to adopt him from an animal shelter. He is a great dog who has added so much to our lives. He eats a better diet then we do and he goes to doggie daycare several times a week. Yes he is spoiled. The picture below is pretty old, but is one of my all time favorites because it really shows his personality. We call this his "Playdog Centerfold."

This is our cavoodle Sweep. We still try & give him as much attention as before Flynn came along, but sometimes it is hard. He is a very needy dog! LO & Sweep even share a bday & Sweep is very gentle & loving towards Flynn

Oh my gosh, me too! I have puppy fever and it doesn't help that three friends have got puppies in the last couple of months and a friend's female just had a litter so I've seen puppy pictures all over Facebook.

Aaw! Puppy's are so iddy biddy & cute! I always search on Instagram '#puppy' and aaw over all the pictures

I got my bfp today! So if this is a sticky bean (fxd) OH will never let me have another furbaby lol! A real baby definitely compensates for that though

I can say I do NOT have puppy fever at all. We got ours at 6 weeks old and he was a newborn, just another species. I loved it, glad Hubster got to experience it, but no rush to do it again. Plus we want our boy trained in Schutzhund and that takes YEARS. When we're done raising him, I'll consider adding to the fur family!

I should note the sport was originally just for German Shepherds and has been expanded to all "working dog" breeds. Obviously, I have a Boxer bias

Ok, so I have seen this, I just never knew what it was called. How is your dog doing with it?

He's still too young for the companion test that he needs to pass in advance of the first level of tracking, obedience, and protection - so we're working on that. Everything is awesome, except his attention span - still needs work on socializing to people (which we've been trying to do), but it's hard to work him right now, because it's deathly fucking hot in Texas (today's heat index = 111 F and even our overnight lows are upper 80s to 90s)... so he may not test for that until the fall. It takes 3-5 years to full qualify level 3 in all three areas of training, but we will get there!
