Calling all stay at home Mummies!!

Hi girls, it has been chucking it down here all day too, I have been over to a friends house for lunch today so just did a mad dash house to car and car to house! I went to Argos this morning and bought Myles a booster high chair seat cos I am fed up of carting his big high chair round, it is great, it was only £16.99 and he loves it!

Not got any great plans for the weekend, we have a Tesco delivery coming in the morning and weather permitting we are hoping to have a walk in the park at some point.

hi i'm a stay at home mom 2. my oh works nights so at the moment we are ok.
Im 23 and caleb is my first he is 12 weeks now and time is flying. hope everyone is ok xx

So how did you all decide that you were going to stay home, was it planned or could you just not bear to leave them when it came to it? I had hoped we would be able to afford and told work I was having 9 months maternity leave then a few weeks ago DH and I sat down and worked out our finances and decided we would give it a go, I don't have family who could look after Myles so it would have meant me paying for childcare for any time I did work and since I didn't earn a lot anyway I would have been basically just working to pay for it and not having much left over - pointless!!

i was made redundant last year in may and tried to look for a job but as i got bigger and you tell them your pregnant they dont want to hire you. but it worked out for the best because im type 1 diabetic i was up the hospiatl every week just to make sure everything was ok. luckily because i had been working i was able to get maternity money up until july and that covers mortgage and oh mays the rest. i think if i have to go back i will only do the one day because as you said childcare eats the money and isnt worth it.xx

Since we decided we wanted babies we decided id be a SAHM, dh earns 6x what i do so financially it wouldnt be worth the heartache of leaving her!! My mumwas a SAHM as was dhs mum. i loved staying at home with My mumbaking and playing!! Xxx

We always planned for me to be a stay at home mum, money is tight, but so worth it. I have watched my sister go back to work and put all three of hers in creche, and she missed out on so much, i couldnt bear to do it. I love spending every day with her, watching everything she does, taking a photo to send the OH at work. She has achieved so many things already, she is growing so fast, i want to be there each milestone she hits

I know what you mean, my mum looks after my nephew and she sees him do things for the first time rather than SIL :( xx

When I found out I was pregnant, I wanted to be a SAHM. I was with my DD and I felt that having a baby in my 40's, I should spend every precious minute I can with him as I never thought I would get another chance at motherhood.
We worked out our finances and although things are tight, we can manage. As long as we can pay the bills and feed and clothe the kids then not much else matters really. My love, time and attention are free and more beneficial to him than anything money can buy.

Managed to get along to my mum's earlier during a break in the rain, then OH picked us up when he finished work. It was lovely to get out the house and Caidan loves getting spoiled by his Grandma!

xxx

Pleased you made it kiki!!! I thought oh its just spitting ill walk the mile n a bit into town... Well half way there the heavy sleet started and on the way back i couldnt open my eye cos the snow was hitting my eye balls lol  good old scotland eh!? Xx

the way i see it i decided to have kids and therefore its my job to bring them up. i couldnt bare putting them in nursery all day everyday etc.

We always decided id be a SAHM once i fell pregnant!...plus OH earns a lot more than i would ever so can easily cover us...also i couldnt bear it, having worked in the baby room of a nursery for 2 years, seeing them walk for the first time and having to keep it from the parents...no thanks i wanna see everything lol

we decided that i wouldnt work as my oh earns 12 times what i could ever earn even with my degree! we have lots of bussiness that i cant run and he enjoys running them! i always wanted to be at home with my babys this is my 1st but we d like to have more so that was our decission made!

we could live a happy life with out me working and still afford luxeries and private school so theres no point in me working! weve had lots of snow here hope it goes away soon as cant get down the drive! hope you all have nice weekends! x

I've been looking at getting one of those for Katie where did you get yours?

We run our own business too which means I can be a sahm, of course we have the office in our house which means I keep my finger in a little bit. :coffee:

I'm really not ready to leave my LO yet and i dont want her going into a creche! cause my family work so there would be no one to look after her while im at work.. will return looking for work when she's a bit older

we decided from day one id be a sahm, OH has a good job, well not brilliant but enough to keep us and thats all that matters, iv always wanted to stay at home with the babys and he's always seen it like that too, i wouldnt want anyone else looking after my baby hes mine lol! especially not with all this crap in the news lately about pedophiles and stuff it just makes me even more determined not to leave him in a creche!

My friend is having a coffee morning in her house tomorrow and inviting a few of us with little ones i'm a bit excited lol
