Calling all stay at home Mummies!!

Im a sahm too :)
I moved country almost 2 years ago and fell pregnant mid-recession, so I dont have work to go back to but tbh Im LOVING being with my little man everyday :)
There are some trying days but mostly its worth it in the end of course!

Hi i have been a stay at home mum for nearly 5 yrs!! started just before i had Ewan.
Miss working but it worked out that if i went to work once i'd paid for child care and petrol i'd be working for about £15 a week! plus at the time a child died in nursery care in gloucester and that made up my mind that i would look after my own kids.

My only worry now is what to i do with them when i do go back to work, what happens with the school holidays? as i cant rely on my family.,

I know same here I think I would have to look for a job during school hours/term time cos I don't have anyone to look after Myles...

I might be able to earn more than my OH but I guess I am the one who loves children most, so there was no question in it! I have always wanted to be at home when I would have children, so we went for the traditional family with mummy being at home, hahaha!

Myles has his first tooth!!! His Daddy found it this morning when he was feeding him some toast!

Im a SAHM and its great knowing you have the freedom of your day to do what you need to but are always there when your kid(s) need you, no need to worry if they are ill or have a training day or whatever. I did go work at one point but worked 2 evenings for 4 hours and all weekend and my mum had my daughter, I found it gave me a break and I didnt miss much either but im back to being a SAHM now and it works for me.

im a sahm because we had to move for my ohs job i had to give mine up and havent found another job in the area weve moved to. its been a year now and im still trying to get used to it hahaha

hi,

i'm hoping that the past 2days of nice weather is the start of spring, and the end of the snow and ice.

i cant go very far or do much as my back is playing up again, no idea why as i've not lifted/pulled anything or done anything to make it hurt.

I'm a SAHM and, while I love it, I find myself going a bit crazy from time to time. There's only so much time you can spend in the house, and there's not a lot to do that's free around here. There are rhymetimes at the library, but I keep forgetting to go to them!

there is a rhyme time at our library but I can't remember what time :dohh: will have to ring up again!

Amy hope your back gets better soon :hugs:

We have had a nice day today, been to visit a friend this morning and then round to my neighbours for coffee this aft, Myles has been crawling and bouncing up and down so much he fell asleep in his highchair whilst eating his tea tonight!!! Tomorrow we are going to a rhythm class at our local Methodist church, you get the first class free but after that it's £3.50 a time so will have to see whether we like it enough to pay - the one I went to on Tuesday is free at the surestart centre

hi,

thanks ladies, my back isnt too bad at the mo - still hurts but pain killers are helping.

i cant get to rhyme time at library as the 1 at town finishes at 2:30pm and by the time i get bus home i'm late getting the older 2 from school. and the 1 out of town starts at 9:15am and i cant get there until 9:30am. and their isnt a sure start that i can get to easily - 2 buses!

Two buses?!! i thought they were supposed to be centres easily reached by all!!!

Myles and I went to a RhymeTime class today, it was really good, we did singing, playing musical instruments, some exercises (for baby) and they blew bubbles and we played with balls, the first session is free but then it's £3.75 which is a bit steep for the half an hour class in a draughty Methodist church so I might try a different one before paying out for the full term! I am also going to try another Surestart centre class this week, there are a few I can get to whilst I still have my car :)

i have to get a bus from mine to town and then town back to "central peterborough" where it is. i could get off 1s bus and walk to the sure start center but its nearly 2miles. the way they have now set up buses here is that no 2 routes cross, apart from the main part around town center and bus station. which is good in 1 way but does mean you have to swap if going places.

Hi girlies can I join? HOpe you're all okay x

Course you can! Welcome :flower:

I took Myles to the park today and put him on a swing for the first time, not sure if he liked it or not he had a very serious face on  I love it that I can do things like that with him on the spur of the moment, if I worked it would all have to be planned in advance :happydance:

awww how fun i cant wait to take mason to the park, took him to the soft play a couple weeks back and he was a bit like myles, serious faced and not sure what to make of it!....Especially when i took him down the slide :haha: naughty mummy

and yes i agree i love not having to plan around things and just do as we please :) another perk of being a SAHM
