our twins have had 3rd injections and are really unhappy/hot. Nurse said we could give calpol but how much?

Max is 9lb 13
Isla 7lb 12

they are 16 weeks old but 5 weeks corrected...

The leaflet says they can have up to 5 ml but at their weight i think i would give them 2.5 ml

My really nice Pharmacist looked up how much paracetamol could be given per kg of weight, then did a calculation for how much paracetamol was in 5ml of calpol ... She ended up with a figure of how many ml I could give Andrew per kg of weight.

But I can't remember what that was! I had it stuck on a label on the calpol box, but threw that bottle/box away last year when it was a year old.

Not much help to you just now ... but an idea for people with preemie/low-weight babies to bear in mind - if you're unsure how much to medicate, ask your Pharmacist for advice
