Were set to be going camping for 2 nights when I'm 33 weeks pregnant am I mad?!?
This is my first pregnancy so not sure if i will be uncomfortable or what?

Any advice would be great also what should I do or not do when there?

Thanks x

i would say just make sure you have something comfortable to sleep on thats most important thing...i plan to go over summer..wont be as far a long as u but hoping to go a few times....

never know you might find you get great night sleep with all that fresh air around...

Just keep the hygeine levels up as much as poss, I love camping but my worries would be getting back up off the air bed and last time hubs had a very bad tummy after food one evening and i had to pretty much de-camp us the next day...

I LOVE camping...but we tent camp...and I can't even imagine sleeping on the ground pregnant. I miss camping and it'll stink not being able to go this summer...but I'll get over it. I'll take baby next summer :-) If I had a camper or something comfy to sleep on I might think about it.

We've got a vw campervan so are away most weekends, I'm hoping that'll continue throughout my pregnancy! I'd miss our adventures..

Camping in a tent isn't as luxurious though, just make sure you've got a comfy camp bed or air bed to sleep on and I'm sure you'll be fine :)

I think it will be fine. I'm off to Glastonbury at 29 weeks and I have heard other places, that this will be ok. One thing I read is a suggestion that single airbeds are more suitable for getting up off than doubles, but I'm not there yet so can't comment. I'd also say definitely take a quilt and not a sleeping bag, because getting pregnancy comfy in a sleeping bag is probably a nightmare. I think I'm going to invest in one of these for Glasto (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0039OE...ve=22110&creativeASIN=B0039OEPFA&linkCode=asn)
but that's just because carrying a quilt from the car park is completely impractical.
I also think you should use being 33 weeks pregnant to not have to do much work generally ;) xx

I love camping we bought a touring caravan last year and its just not the same so we plan on selling the caravan in the next few weeks and we'll be going camping at the end of may in our tent, we have the high air beds so i'm hoping it will be comfy enough :hugs:

Eek.. I would say you're crazy, but I'm not an outdoorsy girl anyway to begin with :)

I wake up with a terribly sore lower back and pelvis sleeping in a comfy soft bed so I can't imagine how bad it would hurt sleeping on the ground :baby:

If you have been comfortable so far and haven't had any problems with your pregnancy, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't go :)
I'm also planning on going camping for a few nights this summer, between weeks 25 and 30. Why not?

The other thing I read on my research is that even though you might not need them at home, take 3 pillows as you'll need the extra support on an air bed. One for your head, one for your bump and one for between your legs. Easy enough if you can park your car next to your tent :)

we camp alot but i am not camping while pregnant i constantly need the toilet and find it hard to get comfy in bed and by summer i will be alot further on

Yes you are mad, waking up in the pitch black with your torch to go to the toilet :) Good luck lol!

i don't think it would do you any harm but by 33 weeks you will be fairly uncomfortable and I dont know how you would cope sleeping in a tent and walking to an outside loo 10 times a night lol x x

Thanks for all the advice. Think I'm going to make a definate decision closer to the time but we have a loo for the tent so no trekking through the dark to the loo. I will make sure I pack my pillows and don't eat the bbq food.

x x

awww we bought a van and were converting it to a camper this year but wait for it.....it's a hijet lol so absolutely no room at all. I'll be 24 weeks when we go away and i know i wont be able to cope with the trips to the bogs in the dark :) Therefore we have just booked a chalet instead!!!! I don't think you're mad, if you have a loo and a comfy bed then why not?

I don't think that you are crazy... That said I may not be the best judge as I will be going to hunt camp at 36-38 weeks preg in the fall. Biggest concerns I would warn about would be the food safety and maintaining a safe source of drinking water (bring bottled water, boil for 5 min if from a natural source or use purification tabs)

Two sleeping bags can always be zipped together to make a larger one for couples ;) or ladies with bellies. You can also check to see if you have the double high air mattresses available, some also come with an auto inflater so they will maintain the "height" and firmness

Have fun :)

We love camping and really wanted to go away for a few days this summer before little one comes along, I normally sleep on the floor but thought I'd be ok if we take a proper air bed.
Must admit I'd forgotten about the loo thing lol!
Maybe you are mad but you're not the only one! hehe

I just cancelled my camping trip which was suppose to be in my 33rd week- I was going to try and attempt it but I'm beginning to not even be comfy in bed anymore- and it's memory foam lol! I lay on one side and it goes numb :( anyway I rethought my week in a tent and have decided to stay home and enjoy the peace!

I love camping and it's only an hours drive from home and only 2 nights.
I won't be straining as no doubt my husband and brother in law will put the tent up. We also camp with luxuries (if that is possible) double high air bed, sleeping bags, pillows, portaloo.
