Hi ladies.
-apologies, I did post the same question yesterday but nobody understood my chart (on an app called glow) so have transferred it all into my FF app instead in hope of getting more responses.

I wonder if any of you would be lovely enough to lend your selfs for a little guidance/help.

It is my first cycle of temping this month and I'm struggling a little to say the least - yes I'm a nurse however I have no idea about it when ttc its very different. My cycles are around 33/34/35 days and I normally O around CD19/20/21. I started temping on day 7 this cycle and have been doing it right so I should think. Taking it before my eyes are open properly in the morning etc. Is this what it is meant to look like? I'm CD15 today and my OPK's are just starting to get dark (estimated O day is Tuesday 10th)

Thank you <3

found this 2nd thread - still think your chart looks good:thumbup:

the thing with charting is this: no one temp on one day or one slice of data will tell you much. lots of women worry about what one particular temp means. to be brutally honest: one temp means nothing. it's when you step back and look at the entire picture. the patterns you have, the trends you see in your temps, and other symptoms. temping doesn't do a great job at giving you much notice on things. it's better in hindsight. FF won't give crosshairs to indicate O until you've had 3 high temps in a row, and by then it's too late to have sex, which is often frustrating. OPKs will give a bit more heads up (i use both now after only temping for 3 cycles and wanting more warning of impending O)

comparing charts is super fun (for me at least!:haha:) but really the best charts to compare are your own to your own. that was super frustrating to me when i first started temping because i wanted to KNOW what it all meant! if you stick with it (and don't get lucky and get pregnant in the first couple months!) eventually you'll start to see a pattern and you will then be able to know "oh, this symptom is new" or "hmm, my temps always dip here, or go up here, etc" and then it gets easier to predict O and also just know when AF will show up, or when you're actually "late" and it's worth taking a pregnancy test.

not sure if this is helpful or more confusing...but your chart looks normal. it sounds like you are pretty regular cycle length-wise, so i would say BD every other day from now and then a bunch of days in a row around when you think you will O and just see what happens with your temps.

when i started charting it was like taking a science class ALL over again! human bodies are crazy, and amazing (nerd alert!:haha:) but charting gets easier so hang in there and try not to worry. not too much, at least!:winkwink:

Jumpingo is super smart and has explained everything you need to know!! x

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain jumpingo! You are fab xx

of course!:friends: i love graphs and charts and stuff.:haha:

I agree, jumpingo gave great advice. As much as I'd like to just get my BFP and not have to chart anymore :)happydance:), looking for the trends in my charts is what helps me pass the time while I wait for that glorious day. It's actually really interesting once you get a few months into it! Though I'm sending you baby dust and hoping it doesn't come to that for you, lol!

But yes, my first month charting I was really fanatical about wondering if it was "normal." I was really stoked to see my temp jump up after I O'ed, and it's been really nice to be able to keep track of my normal PMS symptoms. There are some I didn't realize I get every month, but my charts have made it clear that I do. But if you look at the chart gallery on FF, you'll notice that every woman's chart is just a little bit different than the next. There's truly no way to distinguish "normal" from not, or what's "good" or "bad" since every woman is different. There are some charts in the pregnancy gallery that make me scratch my head because I can't even see how that woman O'ed, but she must have since she's preggo!

You'll definitely feel less confused after this first one. GL!

Ladies... Can I be a pain and repost my chart now that I *think* I've O'd? My biggest fear is that I dont ovulate so I just need to hear 'yeah it looks like you have Ovulated' .. I know it sounds ridiculous :haha:

post away!! not being a pain at all! sometimes we all just need confirmation.:hugs:

Is that dip looking like a pre-o one? And I only got my first higher temp this morning after what I think was Ovulation! Thanks hun, I'm no good at this lol xx

i would guess CD25, since you got a positive OPK after the dip/first temp spike. the second big jump you just got looks pretty promising! (i'm on my phone so it's tough to look too closely but i think you are probably ovulating, if that's your concern. but, obviously need to wait until you have a couple more temps to be sure!:dohh:)

Cool sounds good! I'll repost it at the weekend :D

It might be a pre-O dip or it might just be a random dip in temp (those happen from time to time). But your temp spike today is looking like a good sign! If you have two more days of higher temps, FF will add some red crosshairs to your chart so you can see your "official" O date and how many DPO you are. Keep us posted!

Hey, I got the cross hairs this morning :D my temp this morning dipped today compared to yesterday but not by much and it's still higher than any other day prior to O so they say I'm 4dpo today :D

woohoo! so they put them on CD23??

i'm 4dpo too! i am trying to wait until the 25th to test. you?

i have a colposcopy on the 25th and want to know if i'm pregnant before they make me pee in a cup. i actually would rather they not know - long story - but i would at least like to know before them!

Yep cd23 :D I have no idea when to test, I don't even know if I O'd on cd23 as my info at the start of this cycle wasn't 100% on track since I didn't know when cd1 was! I had horrible brown spotting first and then it turned into full flow 3 days later, but it was normal flow a couple times during the spotting but that wasn't my period at first otherwise that means it would of lasted about 8 days  So all my apps and charting apps have been given different cd1's etc, so I'm not actually sure when to test lol! And yeah that's complerely understandable to want to know before anyone else especially! FX for both of us!!! :bfp:
Good luck in your colposcopy too :hugs:

I'm so hopeful for both of you! My O date was supposed to be today but my EWCM was still pretty heavy (sorry TMI!), so I'm thinking O will actually be tomorrow. So I'm not too far behind you in the TWW! :D

Aw Thankyou I'm hopeful for you too! :hugs:
Jumpingo I said I'd reupload my chart when I have a few more days worth of temps, do you definitely think I ovulated? :wohoo:

looks like a nice ovulatory cycle!

i do wonder if you ovulated on CD23 or on CD25...because the "spike" on CD23, when you got a +OPK, is pretty small and FF tends to take ANY increase after a +OPK as ovulation. but the spike at 25 seems to also make sense to me as ovulation. have you tried switching the Detection Setting to FAM, which gives crosshairs based on temps alone. it gives you crosshairs after 3 temps higher than the previous 6. so, since there's a relatively high on 6 days back (on CD18) from where the crosshairs are now, FAM might put crosshairs at CD25 since the 3 temps from THERE are higher than the previous 6. worth changing just to see what it does. (sorry, i'm such a chart nerd. i look at all the options!:haha:)

You're right! They put the crosshairs on CD25 when I changed it to the FAM setting  now I'm wondering if we DTD that late! This is soo confusing lol my sister has just conceived twins without trying, why can't I be more like her lol!
