Hello ladies, just a quick question, Lyla will be 1 in 3 weeks, she is currently on 3 7oz bottles of follow on milk. Ive got a feeling Ive heard that they should be taken off formula milk around 1. Is this right? If so how should I do it? Really hope someone can help me. xxxxx :flower:

My niece has just finished using formula, she was 1 a month ago. Ideally, you should be switching to full fat cows milk. I guess it depends on what your LO thinks of it - if she likes it you could do a simple switch. If she's not sure then make 6oz of formula with 1oz cows milk and gradually increase the cows milk over a few days/weeks - e.g. 5+2, 4+3 etc.

If you have any problems it's not a big deal to use the follow on milk for a bit longer. HV might tell you off if you go past 18 months on it though!

I just switched straight over to cows milk when Erin was one and I don't think she even noticed. The only problem I had for the first few weeks was constipation but then she was fine. xx
